Will MX922 ink jet cartridges fit my MX920 printer?

Will the MX922 ink cartridges fit the MX 920 printer?

Hi bikerjim,
The PIXMA MX922 is in the PIXMA MX920 series of printers, so they both use the same ink tanks.  If you are unable to find the inks locally, Canon supplies and accessories can be purchased online at the Canon eStore, or by calling 1-800-385-2155 to speak to a Canon eStore representative between the hours of 8 am and midnight, EST, 7 days a week, excluding holidays.
Hope this helps!

  • Will all five 564XL cartridges fit into a Photosmart 7510 at the same time?

I have a Photosmart 7510 e-All-in-One, model C311a, and I need to replace the ink cartridges.  The current black ink cartridge is a 564XL, but the other four are regular 564.  I'm thinking of getting the XL size for all five, but will they all fit at the same time?  (It doesn't look like there's any room to spare in the photo and color slots.)  Thanks.

The XL versions of the color and photo cartridges are the same physical size as the standard cartridges, they just have more ink.  The XL cartridges will fit in your Photosmart 7510 printer.

  • Cannot see ink jet cartridge levels with Cannon i950

I have a new iMac with OS X 10.5.2 and a Canon i950 printer connected directly by USB. The Canon website says the driver for this printer does not show the ink cartridge levels (like it does on a Windows computer) but to use the "IJ utility" to view them. I cannot locate such a utility. The pinter utility on the iMac just says "info not available" when I click on "supply levels". I tried the default drive installed by Mac OS when the printer was connected and the latest driver from the canon web site (they are the same driver I believe). All ink cartridges are Canon brand and are all full right now. Is there a program or utility that will allow me to view the ink levels?
The black print is also a bit light (both text and photos) . It comes out more of a gray color. Color sync program found no problems when I clicked on "verify". Is this a driver issue as well? Thanks.

Checking this further on my Canon MP810, when you open the print queue, the window has a Utility icon. Clicking this opens the Canon IJ Printer Utility also. Not sure if you will see the same thing for the i950.
With the utility open, select the i950 and select the Maintenance tab. This will open another window. Change the top menu from Cleaning to Ink Level Information to see you ink levels.

Question:How do I connect my MacBook Air so my Epson Stylus Color 740i Ink Jet Printer will print?

First, the Epson Stylus Color 740 (which I assume is your printer) is listed in this article, which is good news:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669
So Apple can provide its driver software.

  • Will ink jet photo paper work in a laser printer satisfactorily?

I thought you could use ink jet photo paper in a laser printer, but not the other way around, is this true?

Inkjet photo paper has various coatings that would be incompatible with a laser printers heating.  You could damage the printer.

  • Best Ink Jet Printer

What would be the best ink jet printer to hook to a airport extreme router with both Mac's and Pc's hooked to it.
No need for high end printing mostly black & white word documents and a few colour pages for school projects.

    The best one "for what?".
According to your post, if you're looking to print mostly B&W and some color, basically, any modern printer will do.
One point that you've to check carefully is the cost of the replacement ink cartridges.
The very cheap printers (+/- US$ 60.00) usually use one cartridge for the 3 colors (Red,Green and Blue) and one for the Black, and replacement of these cartridges cost almost the price of a new printer.
The ones over US$ 100.00 have separate cartridges for each color, so, when you run out of one color you'll have to replace ONLY that color, which can amount for a lot of savings.
If you also would like to print labels directly to the surface of the blank CD's and DVD's, then I would recommend an Epson (there're various models that'll do this).
    Regards

  • Why are my new ink cartridges with my new printer running out so soon?

The answer is simple, this information is directly from HP tech support themselves.
( The ink cartridges that come with new printers are complimentary and are not full and the ink status monitor that is used in the HP software is not accurate.)
Also the more you use the cleaning utility to clean the printheads use most of your ink.
This means that when you get a newprinter you have to buy new cartridges on the spot while you are purchasing the printer because you will running out very soon.

What printer model? Where are you located?  The statements you make about starter cartridges are not true for any HP Inkjet sold in the US afaik.
It is true that running cleaning cycles will use ink.  Running excessive cleaning cycles is not a good idea, besides using ink it can shorten the life of the printer.  It is unusual for cleaning cycles to be needed at all during the life of a typical genuine HP cartridge.

  • Ink jet or laser printer?

    1) I am trying to decide whether to buy an ink jet or color laser printer for a home graphic design business. I would be using the printer mostly for proofs and comps. I am looking for recommendations for models under about $800.
    2) Are there big differences in color accuracy between ink jet and laser printers?
    3) Is the availability of Postscript an advantage for the laser printers? Or is Postscript not an important issue? The only ink jet with true Postscript I have found in this price range is the Xerox Phaser and I am worried about ink clogging from underuse.
    Thanks!

    b ark,
Lasers are getting better, but for pure quality, an inkjet is superior. Depends on what you need.
If you want the highest quality, an inkjet is the way to go. It will also have a larger color gamut, is more stable, etc. But, the majority of inkjet papers are coated only on one side, so double sided printing can be an issue.
Lasers are good for comps, but quality, gamut and accuracy can suffer. They can print on plain paper and printing on both sides is usually not an issue. They are less stable than inkjets and require more regular profiling if color accuracy is important.
a CMYK RIP provides greater control over ink limits, linearization, etc. But, a good custom color profile for your paper/printer/ink combination using the standard RGB driver is usually very good. I don't bother with a RIP, since I get great results from the driver. I have done a lot of both. A RIP will be more accurate, especially for postscript encoded data (lines, fonts, etc). RIPs also allow much greater flexibility on layout. Again, depends on your needs.
You don't mention the maximum size of paper you will print on. You can check out an Epson 2400 inkjet. Epson, Canon and HP all have reasonably priced inkjets that will accept 13x19 inch paper. I have no recommendations on lasers and am not current on what is the best bang for the buck.

  • What ink jet printer is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard, for photo?

What ink jet printer is recommended that is compatible with the Mac OS X 10.5.8, so that I will also get good photos, and can scan?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Apple lists compatible printers by operating systems on this page:

It wasn't accessible to me at the last check, but if you wait, it may just have been busy.

  • Both Canon Ink Jet Printers are printing equally horribly

I have three printers. A Canon S-9000, Canon iP6700, and Brother Color Laser HL4040. Although I don't usually use the Brother for photos, I did print one as a test and color looks a lot like what is on my monitor. Both Canon ink jets are printing so poorly it looks like some sort of wild posterization art. The facial tones are watermelon green. In the last week, I have tried everything I can think off. I started from scratch in the Print Preferences and deleted both printers and brought them back in and downloaded the newest drivers from Canon. I did notice that my only option was "Print with Canon IJ Printer" on the window under Name/Location/Print Using. Then when you open the Print Queue and click the blue "INFO" button and then click the Driver Tab, Print Using:the radial button after that where you would choose a driver is grayed out. Not sure if that was always so, since I really never have had a problem printing before. Not sure when or how I got in this mess. I have been on 10.5.6 for a while now and can't think of anything that has changed. It has been a couple of weeks since I have printed a photo. All the photos have been off slightly since going to Leopard, but this is more than slightly. I am using genuine Canon inks. All the ink levels are fine and the nozzle checks look fine. All colors are printing well. It's not mechanical and both printers are printing equally horrific. It doesn't matter if I print from Photoshop CS, iPhoto, Canon DPP, or Preview. However... yesterday I downloaded a different app to try to print from called Easy Photoprint and I printed one 4x6 that was almost acceptable except it was landscape mode and part of the photo didn't get on the paper but then the next one was back to the awful printing and I can't duplicate the one good one but it was enough to let me know for sure it's not mechanical or ink related. I have messed with all the usual settings in Photoshop but it can't be that since printing out of iPhoto and Preview produce identical results. What am I missing here?

I bought a Canon i960 with my G5 in early 2004. Both were poor purchases. The G5 because I spent several hundreds of dollars to have Apple replace the cpu which did not solve the problems I was having (and I have been using Macs since 1984). The Canon printer stopped working after some 2.5 years because the waste ink tank was filled. It costs almost half of the original purchase price to have it serviced. Canon does not clearly tell you that this will happen, and I had average use of my printer. All Canon will do for you is to offer a discount on another printer. Canon makes good printers, but I recommend that you consider another manufacturer, and read the small print to determine how long it will last according to your particular use.

  • Quantity of ink in cartridge

The Brochure Value pack forOfficejet 940XL containing three colour cartridges is much less expensive than buying them separately - do the cartridges contain the same volume of ink?

    nancylovestorea wrote:
Supposedly, a 22 tri-color cartridge is supposed to print a maximum of 600 pages at 15% coverage.  So then, at 60% coverage it should print 150 pages.  I wasn't able to print even 50 pages before the cartridge was empty.  I called HP and they basically said there wasn't anything they could do about it.  I'm going to start buying the store brand!  At least, then, if there is an issue I feel that they will work with me to keep me as a customer!
Has anyone else had this issue and did you get satisfaction from HP?
I think there are a few factors at work here.  Firstly, the 22 cartrdige is rated at 165 standard pages.  The 22XL holds more ink and is rated at 415 pages.  These measurements are based on the ISO standard yield methods and can be found here.
As for store brands (and refilled cartrdiges in general), they tend to have poorer page yields and reliabiliuty.  See here and here for details.

  • Printer D7160 - will not acknowledge new cartridge

Yellow cartridge showed low ink.  Printer stopped printing.  Purchased new HP cartridge and inserter.  Printer rejected as 'empty" or not working.  Back to the store for second cartridge - printer again did not accept.  Have cleaned the copper contacts with no better results.  Do I have to toss a perfectly good printer??  What can I do to correct the problem?

My  printer problem is detailed above.  The printer is used to print from my notebook Dell computer that uses Windows 7.  The file is relayed to the printer but the printer will not print because the cartridge cannot be recognized.  I have cleaned the printer copper points as suggested on your website as well a disconnected printer.  Nothing seems to solve the problem.  Suggestions, please.

  • Does Lion work with an Epson Stylus Photo R2000 Ink Jet Printer?

Does Lion work with an Epson Stylus Photo R2000 Ink Jet Printer?

Took deliverly of my R2000 yesterday 11/04/2012.
**** of a job/mission getting to connect wirelessly to OSX Lion, but thanks to the perseverence of Epson support online chat plus ultimately phone call from Epson, the problem was resolved (total 3hours 45mins online chat 45mins on phone) yes i was a gineapig as the R2000 has only been available since March 2012 here in the UK.
    1. Download combo driver/utilities for R2000 Mac 10.6 (works with Lion)
    2. Install latest drivers and Epsonet.
    3. Connect the printer to your wireless router using a LAN cable.
    4. Ensure ink is installed on startup of the printer as the printer wont for some reason communicate without it as all the printer knows is it needs ink.
    5. Ensure Mac is also connected to router.
    6. Run Epsonet.
    7. When Epsonet has found the R2000 click next.
    8. Then click Changes on the following screen.
    9. Select wireless Lan.
    10. Select config manually (the auto will not work with Lion)
    11. Allow Epsonet to use passwords from keychain network name(SSID) + WEP password.
    12. When done you will be prompted to disconnect the LAN from the printer.
    13. Then Click next.
    14. Ensure wireless light on printer is lit if not hold WiFi button on printer for 3 Secs.
    15. If config is successful (it took me Two attempts) goto system preferences/print/scan/Add printer and add the R2000 that ends in IP.
Hope this helps someone. Epson support is a good enough reason to buy Epson IMO as mentioned with their help it took nearly 4 hours to reach the above solution at no cost to myself and believe you me i was on the verge of returning the printer to the supplier as Wireless printing is a must with a 19 month old child on the loose.
    Thanks Epson/Europe
