Will my computers specifications be able to handle photoshop?

I'm looking at buying photoshop but I've had some people say that I'll need to upgrade my computer, while otheres are saying it will be fine. Not being very 'tech savy', I was wondering if anyone would be able to help and let me know if my computer will be able to handle photoshop.
Currently it has:
Win7 Premium
4GB memory
500GB HD
Intel Pentium B940, 2.0GHz
any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks
justin

I know there is a migration assistant, but I have multiple drives in my pc.  Will the migration assistant be able to handle this?  I'm going to be trying to move the date to a new imac 27' with fusion drive.

the following set of instructions is a little longer, so you might want to print it out and have it handy
    Step 1 - PC
If your PC already is connected to the Internet, hold down the Windows button on
your keyboard and simultanously press R. Into the opening window enter "cmd" (without
the quotation marks). A command line will open, enter "ipconfig" (again without the
quotation marks) at the prompt. Now find the section labelled "Ethernet-Adaptor" and
note the values for IP-Address, Subnet-Mask and Default-Gateway on a sheet of paper
If your PC is not already connected to the internet, you need to manually configure its IP address.
    open Network and Sharing Center
do a right click on Ethernet and select Properties
in middle of the screen there is a box labelled "This connection uses the following items"
out of this box select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)"
click on the Properties button in the right corner
Into the window "Use the following IP address" enter the following values
    IP-Address: 192.168.0.1
    Subnet-Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default-Gateway is the IP-Address of your Router. This value is needed for internet connection, for the file sharing setup only this value can be left empty.
    Step 2 - Mac
If your Mac already is connected to the internet, it is likely that it has automatically receive the necessary parameters from your router and therefore should be in the same network as your PC. To be on the safe side, you can check this by
    open System Preferences
    select Network
choose Ethernet from the panel on the left side of the window
    click on Advanced
    click on TCP/IP
compare the values for IP-Address, Subnet-Mask and Default-Gateway with those you wrote down earlier.
If both PC and Mac have identical numbers in the first three parts of the IP-Address, you are set.
If your Mac is not already connected to the internet, you need to manually configure its IP-Address as well.
In the TCP/IP window you have just opened select "Manually" from the drop down menu "Configure IPv4:"
    Enter the following values
    IP-Address: 192.168.0.2
    Subnet-Mask: same as with PC
    Default-Gateway: same as with PC
Step 3 - Activate File Sharing on PC
    open Control Panel
    select Network and Internet
    select Network and Sharing Center
on the left panel select change advanced sharing settings
in the middle of the new page enable turn on file and printer sharing
Step 4 - Activate File Sharing on Mac
    open System Preferences
    select Sharing
set check mark next to File Sharing (green circle appears on the right side next to File Sharing:)
    click on Options:
set check mark next to Share files and folders using SMB
in the listbox under the text Windows File Sharing make sure there is a check mark next to your account name
Step 5 - Create a share on your PC
In Explorer select the folder you wish to share
do a right click on that folder and select "Share with"
    choose "Specific people"
a new window opens. there select your Windows username (usually the first in the list)
if you plan to copy from Windows to Mac only, it would be sufficient to grant Read permission only, but, since most likely you are the only person to access that share and certainly do not plan to sabotage yourself, Read & Write permission is ok too.
    finally click on "Share"
Step 6 - Create a share on your Mac
Once the check mark next to your account name is set (see above) your home directory is automatically set as a share.
Step 7 - Connect your PC to your Mac-Share
do a right click on the network icon which resides on your desktop or in the left
    panel of every Explorer window
    Select Connect Share
in the text box next to Folder: enter \\<ip-address-of-your-mac>\<your-osx-username>
if you are using the same username and password on both Windows and OSX click on "Finish",
if not set the check mark next to "Connect using different credentials" afterwards click on "Finish" A new window will open where you enter username and password that you are using with OSX
Step 8 - Connect your Mac to your PC-Share
hold down the command key and press K simultanously or in Finder click on Go in the menu at the top of your screen and select "Connect to Server"
in the Window that opens enter smb://<your-windows-username>:<your-windows-password>@<ip-address-of-your-PC/<y our-windows-username>
    or
smb://<ip-adress-of-your-PC/<your-windows-username> you will be asked to enter your Windows username and password in popup window
Now you have both computers connected to each other. Each will provide you access to your home directory of the other computer. Open a second Explorer or Finder window with your local home directory and start copying

  • Opinions? Will software stabilization ever be able to handle CMOS?

There is software for everything now-a-days. Will there ever be a software solution (and if so, an upgrade to iMovie) that will allow stabilization of CMOS sensor recordings?

There already is software that does this. It's a UK company that makes very high-end video editing products.
In the future, yes, this will be corrected. You'll need dramatically better hardware than what is currently for consumers.
I'll try and find the company and post it here.

  • Will Adobe Reader (iOS) be able to handle acrobat file with video?

I have created power point slides with embedded video.   I used Acrobat to make a pdf version of the power point slides.  All of the Action Buttons and Video displays perfectly in Windows.
I am interested in have this pdf file be display on an iPad (now or sometime in the future).   Does anyone know if that is in the works for Adobe Reader for iOS (iPad) ??    If so, possible time frame ???
    Thanks,
    G

On ios, we do support playing videos that are embedded as part of a portfolio or as an attachment on a regular document. The key is that the video must be in a format that the device can play. See video formats listed here under Video technologies:
    http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/Miscellaneous/Conceptual/iPhoneOSTec hOverview/MediaLayer/MediaLayer.html
I tested such a sample PDF recently. Unfortunately, our forums don't have a means of posting these files. If you'dl ike to see a sample, please email [email protected] and request the embedded video sample from me (Pat W.)
    Thanks!

  • I bought a fully specked, 2012 retina mac book pro today. Will it still be powerful in 4 years? In other words, will it still be able to handle high powered engineering programs in 4 years?

In other words, will it still be able to handle high powered engineering programs in 4 years? It's i7, quad core, 2.7GHZ boost up to 3.7GHZ,16 GB RAM, and 768 flash SSD.
Will it be considered a lower powered or mid powered machine in 4 years relative to the new laptops around it?
I feel like fully specking it helps me be a little future proof.
Is 6 years too ambitious to hope for that this machine will still be able to handle powerful programs?
I spent $3000 so in 4 years I hope it will still be relativley fast.

Nobody can predict what programs might need in the future.  And, nobody can predict where computers will head 3-4 years from now.  Power (meaning energy consumption) is becoming as important as speed (if not more so).  Purchase what you need now with a bit of headroom and expect that you might need to replace in 3 years (that's the reason large companies lease computers instead of purchasing them).
It also depends on what you mean by "high powered engineering programs".  It could mean that  you don't have enough memory for newer applications and will constantly be swapping to disk.  This could either prevent you from using the SW or will significantly slow things down.
It could also mean that the computations become more complex and need a faster cpu (this is a lower risk and simply means that your computer won't be quite as fast as your buddy's).
It could mean that the OS you have today is obsolete and no longer supported for these applications.
Don't worry about 4 years down the road.  Nobody (and I mean nobody) can predict even 1 year out.  Look at how many times companies delay product introductions, or provide "guidance" to analysts.

  • Will my hp officejet 6500a plus (e-all-in-one printer - e710n) be able to handle 14pt C2S paper?

I'm just wondering if my printer will be able to handle that thick of paper without ruining the quality of the print.  I've been trying to find the paper thickness limitations for this printer but I can't seem to find them anywhere.

You can refer to the link below for the paper sizes and types supported by this printer here:

Yes.  Switching to Mac might be overwhelming at first, but it is not difficult.  I Just started using Macs regularly about 9 months ago after using only Windows based pc's for over 15 years.  Macs come with TextEdit , but you can also purchase MS Office for Mac or use Apple's version, called iWork.Yes, you can partition the hard drive of a Mac.  Read these also: http://www.apple.com/support/switch101/, http://www.apple.com/support/mac101/.  With regular use of a Mac, you will be able to use it without even thinking about it, just like how you learned to use a WIndows pc.

  • Need to instance to be able to handle 30000 users.

    Hi all,
I need to install oracle 10g release2 rdbms with one instance. Now the condition is this instance should be able to handle 30000 user sessions.Which parameters are directly responsible for number of user sessions.Precisely which parameters are to change to accept more number of users sessions. If you could suggest some value ..it would be helpful.
    regds,
    AD

Is that 30,000 concurrent user sessions?
Some of the considerations will be the type of load - DML intensive or query intensive. If short duration DML, then you may want to look at Shared Server as a method of reducing or containing resources. In which case dispatchers, circuits and shared server parameters are relevant.
If these sessions are concurrent, you may want to look at RAC to distribute the load across several host computers. IN which case the entire set of RAC parameters become relevant.
With 10g Release 2, you would possibly want to take advantage of the automatic memory tuning capability to get you out of detailed memory parameter management. Otherwise all parameters that involve the SGA and PGA, especially the pools, become relevant.
Other than that, the processes parameter and (the normally derived) session parameter are relevant.
IMO, the logical and physical design will have a significant impact on the number of users - possibly more impact than parameter settings. I refer you to Tom Kyte's books (see http://www.apress.com) to get a detailed discussion of scalable design.

  • Why aren't apps like weather, stocks, etc. on my new iPad? Also, It's curious that Siri wasn't included with ios5... Shouldn't an iPad 2 with the A5 be able to handle it?

Next time an app update gets stuck try a reset. Press and hold both the home and power buttons for10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons. Wait till your iPad starts on it's own. Try now. Also YouTube is still available. If you can't find it the the app store go to the bottom of the app store page and tap purchased. All your deleted apps will be listed and you can reinstall YouTube from there.

  • 10g Streams able to handle lots of data?

Does anyone know if 10g Streams is able to handle large amounts of data? For example, millions of rows inserted by a batch data load? Or, 4000 tables being updated at the same time? 600 users on source db?
BTW, both databases will be Oracle 10g but source will be a RAC and the destination won't. Also, source database uses ASM disks but destination doesn't.

    Hello,
Here is a simple example, of course here I only create one value per iteration in the while loop for simplicity. You can also set properties of the file which can be useful, and set up different channels.
Beside, you can use multiple groups to have more flexibility in data storage. You can think of channels like columns, and groups as sheets in Excel, so you see this way your data when you import the tdms file into Excel.
I hope it helps, of course there are much more advanced features with TDMS files, read the help docs!

  • Will the new watch be able to be used as a fob watch? In the NHS we are not allowed to wear wrist watches so this would be a great selling point.

Will the new watch be able to be used as a fob watch? In the NHS we are not allowed to wear wrist watches so this would a really useful feature.

will there be a mount for the watch that facilitates it being clipped onto a uniform rather than kept in a pocket to get broken or lost? I understand that it might not be able to do some of the more technical things like keep track of my pulse etc. However if it doesn't have the facility to be worn as a fob with a specific mount it's not going to be any use to lots of people. I possibly wasn't very clear in my first question.

  • I recently purchased a Go pro Hero 4 Black which included a voucher for Adobe Photoshop Elements 12. Is elements 12 discontinued if so, will I be able to downloadAdobe Photoshop Elements 13?

I recently purchased a Go pro Hero 4 Black which included a voucher for Adobe Photoshop Elements 12. Is elements 12 discontinued if so, will I be able to downloadAdobe Photoshop Elements 13?

    LAdyshopgirl
Premiere Elements 12 is no longer the current version of Premiere Elements. Premiere Elements 13 is. Probably Premiere Elements 12 is still in stock
at online vendors. Whether these online vendors accept "vouchers" is questionable.
You need to go by whatever the voucher says. It may be very specific for version 12 and be outdated at that. Is there an expiration date on the voucher.
Is there an installation disc included with the camera? If so, does it give a redemption code or serial number that you are supposed to use to install the
    program?
This is not Adobe. Rather a user to user forum.
My first impression is that you may have an outdated voucher. And, the details of that voucher need to be read carefully.
Please supply more information unless you opt to contact the seller of the camera for more details, especially if this "voucher" was a sales
incentive for the selling of the camera.

  • Able to handle eg fightgame?

    Hi,
is cocomo able to handle ...for example a little fightgame
like streetfighter with 2 seperate flash-clients?
    will it be fast enough?

    Hi Psirus88,
This is a tough question to answer as it depends on things
that are outside of our control (e.g. network connection,
complexity of your shared model and the amount of data you intend
to send across our service, and social interactions - how your code
and design accounts for intermittent latency/congestion in the
    network, which happens).
Games today, like World of Warcraft and Halo, don't even have
the sophisticated level of player-to-player interaction that you
would require for a game like Streetfighter (e.g. reacting to users
moves then blocking, counter punches, etc.) which are ALL very
important and requires sub-second reactions from the user. I can't
predict how this would work with Cocomo, but it should be fast
enough for MUDs (where WoW in my opinion is just a graphic
intensive MUD), and certainly turn-based games.
    Thanks,
    Fang
