Will my G5 1.8 GHz PMac make an okay 10.4.11 server?

The small not-for-profit where I work has been running 10.4 server for the past few years from an Intel iMac (2.1GHz dual core, 2GB RAM expandable to 4—keep trying to talk my boss into springing for the extra RAM, which is pretty cheap now—second ethernet port on USB). We don't ask it to do a huge amount: AFP, SMB, DNS, Firewall, Software Update, OD—though Kerberos has been finicky as heck—and light Web.... I guess that's not so little!
One of our workstations is a venerable, healthy G5 PowerMac (1.8 GHz, single CPU, 6GB RAM, with room for 2 more, 2 Gigabit ports—one built in, one on a PCI card—and an empty SATA bay). It's currently running the 10.5.8 client.
I've been thinking of loading the server software onto the tower and freeing up the iMac, which would make a slightly snappier (if somewhat less expandable) workstation.
Am I crazy?
And if I do make the change, is it a good idea to add a second SATA drive internally to create a RAID for the startup disk, or is that just asking for trouble, because of the extra heat?

Running a lightly-loaded Server is not a compute problem, it is an I/O problem. You do not need a fast CPU, you need snappy storage.
I have run 10.3 Server on a Beige G3/300 MHz with an external SCSI Mirrored RAID. It worked fine.
If you are not getting tons of hits on your Web pages, you should be fine. Remember there are graphs available in Server Admin and in the AFP sub-section, in addition to Activity Monitor, that can give you a warning if you are running some resource (main memory, CPU Utilization, or disk transfers) close to the line.
If users have home directories on the Server, minimum 100BaseT Ethernet is recommended between Server and WorkStations, and Gigabit Ethernet is much better. This means your Ethernet Switches have to be Gigabit switches, too. This speed is completely unseen when connecting to the Internet.

The iPhone 4s is a multi carrier 'world' phone, it works on CDMA and GSM based networks.
Check out what system the carriers in Qatar operate on and check the technical specs of the iPhone 4s.
The chances are the iPhone 4s will work fine on their network.
You will need to make sure the carriers in Qatar offer Micro SIM cards to use in the iPhone 4s. If the carriers don't offer Micro SIM, you will not be able to use the iPhone 4s with a standard SIM (without a bit of SIM card surgery).

It's going to depend on what you are doing with the machine. If what you are doing is processor intensive, then higher clock speed would give more speed. Assuming though, that the higher speed processor machine is going to have a spindle drive, then if the issue is one that is drive dependent (and a lot of things are), then the MBA will generally be faster.
If you have a machine you are replacing, I'd suggest looking at whether the applications you are now using tend to absorb lots of processor time (are you hitting 100% CPU usage regularly) or spend most of the time excercising your hard drive (drive activity is constant). If the former, the Pro is likely the better option, while if the latter the MBA would likely do better.
Of course, if price is no object just get a Pro level machine with an SSD...

My M30x MultiDrive will not burn DVDs from Windows Movie Maker and other applications.
I have also had problems burning CDs (unbranded) from Windows XP, built in utility.
Does the multidrive have problems, with cheaper brand disks?
Just to note,
The laptop has been back to the support guys three times so far with various issues.
(1) The hard drive failed.
(2) The multidrive failed.
(3) The motherboard got replaced, because of power failures, it wouldnt charge the battery or recognise that the power adapter was plugged in.
Note: The harddisk, not the exhaust fan makes the most noise in mine!

As far as I know the preinstalled burning software (i.e. record now, drag ndrop) disabled the Windows XP burning option. In this case if you want to use the Movie Maker or Windows media player burning option, you should to enable this possibility.
Please go to driver properties (right click). Please select the Recording tab. The option Enable CD recording on this drive should be marked.
I use the Nero burning software and in my opinion its a one of the best burning programs. Furthermore you should try different CD/DVD manufacturers because some CDs and DVDs are not compatible with some drives. Check the TDK CDs and DVDs. I never had any problems with these medias.

Skype would be a possibility for phone calls, though I don't know if it's available in SA. Search the iTunes Store for "SMS" and you'll quickly see if there are any SMS apps you can try.

Yes. If you do it through the settings on the iPod and have an older iPod, make sure the iPod is charging either via a computer or wall charger. It can takes hours to erase an older iPod.

Since I upgraded to Mavericks, I've started having two issues with my Mac Mini (mid-2011 edition, with 4Gb of RAM and an Intel i5 processor at 2,5Ghz)
1. I use FileVault so I need to login as soon as my machine will boot. Unfortunately, after the upgrade, the layout of my keyboard switched to US. So every time I login, I need to type my password in as if I had a qwerty keyboard. Apple is well aware of the issue which is reported on many forums but still hasn't released a patch yet. That's a nice middle finger shown at their customers, but I guess this is customers service the Apple style.
2. Next, I have a more embarrassing issue. My Mac Mini has become so slow that it has become almost unusable for many common tasks such as managing my photos in iPhoto or just surfing the web with Google Chrome. I noticed that doing almost nothing on my computer, I always at 3,5Gb and up of memory usage. As I'm typing these lines, I only have iPhoto and 4 tabs in Google Chrome opened and the "Used memory" line in the activity monitor says I'm using 3,99Gb of RAM.
So here is my question :
- Could the lack of RAM be the main reason my Mac Mini is extremely slow and often freezing on commons tasks (iPhoto and surfing the web) ?
- If so, would upgrading to 8Gb of RAM make it noticeably faster ?

According to the image of memory usage you posted, the Virtual Memory is taking 5GB of HDD free space to run (whatever was on, in the image) and the physical RAM was nearly all taken, with 3.99GB in use. Most of the items in the far right side appear to be other usage, some in MB. Where is that being used?
{Not certain what to make of the other usages, because it is easy to forget what I saw when it isn't english. But I do understand several written languages and a few listened-to, even though I don't speak them. Even some dialects from Asia if I see the speaker. Except cyrillic Rus, greek, & a few others.}
Given the RAM is the least expensive way to add performance to a machine with hungry operating system and applications that also won't go unfed, this aspect and a good deal of unused or 'free space' in the hard disk drive both add up to better performance. Less RAM than optimal is a bottleneck, as would an overly full near capacity hard disk drive; when running on a slim margin.
Other browsers to consider are Mozilla-derived FireFox, Seamonkey, and iCab. Maybe Opera.

What version of iMovie are you using?

If the image is not 720p, you might have to crop it to have freehand control over which bit gets cut off.
How to crop it...
In the project window hover your cursor over a section of the clip in the bottom right corner as seen below:
Click on the cog and open up Cropping,Ken Burns and Rotation.
Click on Crop and drag and set to where you want it to be cropped, then click Done. (Because mine isn't 720p, iMovie automatically makes it so I cannot include the black border. If you do not mind this click Allow Black.)

Yes. You'll need to create a Mavericks USB installer from the App Store download, and the App Store is only available with 10.6 and above, so that's a challenge for you to overcome, but that SSD will install just fine.

I found the following steps for when you're experiencing issues making or receiving calls. If you haven't already, I would start your troubleshooting here:
Follow the steps below to resolve this issue. Please test after each step.
Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
Check your phone settings:
Check your Do Not Disturb settings: Tap Settings > Do Not Disturb.
Check for any blocked phone numbers: Tap Settings > Phone > Blocked.
See if Call Forwarding is turned on: Tap Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding.
Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a carrier settings update.
Check for an iOS software update.
Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
If the iPhone has a SIM card, reseat the SIM card.
If the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s is on the Verizon network, dial *228 from the iPhone and select option 2 to update the Preferred Roaming List (PRL). The PRL determines the cellular towers the phone uses for cellular service, selecting those with the best signal strength.
Reset the network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Try to make or receive calls in another location.
Attempt to isolate to one network band:
If you're having the issue on LTE, disable LTE, if possible, and try again.
If you're having the issue on 3G/4G, disable 3G/4G, if possible, and try again.
Contact the carrier to check the following:
Your account is properly configured to use the specific iPhone that has the issue.
There are no localized service outages.
Your account doesn't have a billing-related block.
Your calls don't have errors on the carrier system.
Restore the phone as new.

Tried to update and app and the upgrade froze. It will not finish upgrade. The app maker says it's on Apple's end and everyone having a problem with it. What to do?

Tried to update an excellent app from Launchpad Toys, Toontastic, and the update froze. It continuously says 'Installing'. Repeated tries. The app maker says it's on Apple's end and they have other customers with the same problem and no one knows what to do about it! Deleting the app would lose all my daughter's work on it! It is on IPad 2. And it a not been updated to ios6 since it will not update that anyway.
