Will my information be stored into my new iPhone?

Ok, so I'm getting a replacement iPhone 4S tmr because my current one is water damaged. I back up my iPhone to iTunes, not iCloud or anything of that sort. What I was wondering was will my old info, like contacts, texts, calendars, etc. be stored into my new iPhone when I connect it to my laptop? Please let me know, thanks!

if your backup was good, all of this information will be restored to your new phone

you will need to sync over your music from your computer to your phone

Yes all of the iPhone 5 family use the nano sim, so as long as you did not switch to a phone locked to another network it will work.  But you do need to go through the activation/setup procedure with tHat sim.

Under normal circumstances, an uninstall/reinstall does not touch your content. That being said, it's still always a good idea to maintain a backup in case of disasters.

  • I inserted my SIM card into my new iPhone but none of my contacts appear :(

I inserted my SIM card into my new iPhone but none of my contacts appear on the phone. Do we have a solution?

The iPhone does not support importing or transferring contacts stored on a SIM card to the iPhone's address book nor storing contacts on the SIM card activated with AT&T. It is recommended to use the new SIM card included and pre-installed with the iPhone for the AT&T activation.
Are these contacts not available in the Address Book application if you have a Mac or in the Outlook address book if you have a Windows PC and use Outlook as your email client?
If not, you can take this SIM card to an AT&T store and for a small fee or maybe you can talk the store into doing this for free, they will extract the contacts from the SIM card into a format you can use to import the contacts into the Address Book on a Mac or into the Outlook address book on a Windows PC.

    Hey JustEhlan,
Thanks for the question. When it comes to iPhone, very little is stored on the SIM card. Contacts, Photos, etc can be backed up with iTunes or iCloud and then transferred to a new device. For information on how to do so, see this resource:

can he just email me the folder
Backup files are too big to email.  Use FTP, DropBox, etc...
how do I then put all that data back into my current phone from the new computer?

  • I put my sim card into a new iphone and tried to change it back to the old one and now the phone is locked. It's asking for a passcode and I didn't have a passcode set up.

Hi! I need help! I put my sim card into a new iphone (3g) and then tried to put it back into the old one to get my contacts from it. Now the old iphone is locked and it's asking for a passcode, but I never set up a passcode on it. Has anyone experienced this or does anyone know what to do? Thanks!

Not sure if this applies to your region, but in Australia the SIM password is often written on the "credit card" sized plastic card that the SIM was provided to you with the phone by the telco. Do you still have this? It could be in the iPhone box?

Not unless the phone was backed up to the icloud or in iTunes at some point. I know you said it's crushed but can it be connected to a computer? If so you can still back it up in iTunes and then when the new phone comes use iTunes to restore that back up on it.

  • I have my ipad notes linked to gmail and suddenly disappeared when I put the sim card into a new iphone, the funny thing is that almost all disappeared except 4 and with different dates up to two years. Why did this happen? No way to recover them?

Wow, Karan Taneja, you've just embarrassed yourself on a worldwide support forum.  Not only is your post ridiculous and completely inappropriate for a technical support forum, but it also shows your ignorance as to whom you think the audience is.  Apple is not here.  It's users, like you.
If you would have spent half the time actually reading the Terms of Use of this forum that YOU agreed to by signing up to post, as you did composing that usesless, inappropriate post, you (and the rest of us on this forum) would have been much better off.

I might have omitted another requirement - sorry.
You need the same number, and you have it. I think it also has to be with the same cellular carrier.

  • Will ipod touch settings copy to a new iphone with cloud / same apple id?

My daughter has an ipod touch 4th generation. I had set the restrictions on her touch, but have since forgotten the password.
We are giving her an iphone 5c for the holidays and I'm wondering if she uses the same itunes/apple account for her phone as her touch, will the restrictions automatically copy from her ipod to her new iphone. I believe that we have only set up icloud to backup music and apps.
Part two, if I may... My daughter had purchased some in app features befpre I placed the restrictions on her ipod. When I placed the restrictions on, those additional features were not available to her any longer (she can still see them on her touch, but the icons are grayed out). I think the only way for me to get rid of that setting without the password is to restore to factory settings. Again, are those restriction settings saved anywhere else, like the cloud, or even the itunes backup that I use from my pc computer?
Thanks very much for your advice. Happy holidays to all.

The same purchases will be available on the new iPhone using the same Apple iD.
Tap Settings > iTunes & App Store then switch Music ON.

  • I broke my screen on my iphone and now the phone wont turn on, if I have insurance will it cover the cost of a new iphone?

I broke my phone about two months ago and now it won't turn on because I believe there is internal damage. If I bought the insurance when buying the phone will I be able to get a new phone for free?

You would have to find that out from where you purchased the insurance. Most insurance policies that are sold for cellular phones have a deductible. Only that insurance carrier can answer those questions for you. Look up the papers that you got when you purchased the insurance.
