Will my iPhone 5 work in Europe?

Will my iPhone five in Norway?

What model number does you iPhone have? Check Settings > General > About and look for model. If it says A1533 or A1457 or A1530 you iPhone is a GSM model which should work in Europe with european carriers but to be absolutley sure you should ask the carrier you want to use in Europe.

A contract-free phone is not the same thing as an unlocked phone.
If you purchase it through a carrier, it will very likely be locked to that carrier.
In the US, Apple stores, and only Apple stores, sell unlocked phones. The same may hold true in Canada.
Also keep in mind that warranty service will only be available in the country where you purchased the phone (Canada) and you will have to either send it to a friend/family member to get it repaired or make the trip yourself. Apple will not accept a shipment from outside the country of purchase.
Finally, while an iPhone from one country will generally work anywhere in the world, you may find that you do not get 4G speeds/full compatibility with a network outside of the country of purchase.

  • HT4528 Does any model of the Verizon iPhone work in Europe?

Does any model of the Verizon iPhone work in Europe?

My experience with their custome service has generally been good and the answers generally accurate. I know that they did change the requirement that phone roam on CDMA, if available. Apple added a switch to turn that off in 5.1. I don't know if that counts as "changing their story" or simply deciding it made for fewer unhappy customers.
The nice man in Global Support gave me a couple of disclaimers (only one unlock per number per year and Verizon would not be responsible for any customer/technical support while I was using a different SIM). The whole process was quick and painless.

  • Will your iPhone work with Straight Talk?

Will your iPhone work with Straight Talk?

In order for your Straight Talk service to work with an iPhone, you would have to Jailbreak your iPhone (Even if it's unlocked) if you use an AT&T based SIM from Straight Talk, or you could use a T-Mobile based SIM from Straight Talk and it would work fine. Straight Talk is an MVNO therefore when the AT&T based SIM is inserted into the iPhone, it defaults to the AT&T profile, and the Cellular Data Settings option does NOT show up. You have to use a T-Mobile based SIM because they have no default profile for the iPhone because they do not carry the device.

  • Will my ipad work in Europe?

Will my ipad work in Europe? After I charged it with 220 electrical service it no longer works.

It should do, the iPad's charger is rated for 100 to 240 V
If you mean that your iPad isn't turning on then have you tried a soft-reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear.

  • Will my iphone work in france

I will be in Paris and the south of France. Will my iPhone 4s work - do I need an adaptor??

        Hello richjags.
We definitely want to make sure your son is able to use his phone. Do you know if he has the iphone 4 or 4S? If he has the iPhone 4, this would not be a global device, but would be able to be used via WiFi. If he has the 4S, we can activate his preinstalled global SIM card on your account so he can use his phone in France. You can change the language to any available in the tech specs:

There is a Lithuanian keyboard but no Lithuanian user interface.

  • If I buy an unlocked iPhone 5s in the U.S, will it then work in Europe(Norway)?

Will an unlocked iPhone 5s from the U.S work in Norway?

It will probably work, but only on 3G and because of the frequency differences between the US and other countries you will never get 4G.
Also remember that iPhone warranty is not international, so if anything goes wrong with the phone you are looking at getting on a plane and taking it back to the US.
If you want to use the phone in Norway, why on earth don't you buy it in Norway?  If you buy the phone in Norway, then you have EU warranty so any European country and you will also be able to get 4G because you have the correct frequency for your country.
I never really understand why people want to buy iPhones in the US and use them in European countries where it is perfectly easy to buy phones from in the first place and where Apple stores do exist?
You won't save any money and the iPhones in the US are not cheaper - they only look that way because most are carrier subsidised.  If you buy an unlocked phone from the US, then by the time you have paid local taxes and sales tax and then import duties, it will work out at the same cost anyway and then you won't have the warranty cover for your country and you also won't be able to get 4G either.

Yes. It works anywhere in the world.
TIME ZONE - US EASTERN. LOCATION - PHILADELPHIA, PA, USA.
I recommend that you always run the latest Skype version: Windows & Mac

  • Will the iPhone work with the Bose SoundDock Digital Music System?

I want to get one of the new Bose SoundDocks but I'm not sure if it will work with the iPhone. I know it works with the iPod Touch but I know it's a little thinner than the iPhone. Has anyone tried using the iPhone with one of these?

There isn't an adaptor that fits the iPhone but it works flawlessly with the iPhone. In fact, it works better with the iPhone than it does with the new Classic. The new Bose SoundDock has a nifty little remote that allows you to scan foward/backward through your playlists - this functionality works on the iPhone but not on a Classic iPod.

  • Will my Mac work in Europe?

My family is moving to Holland at the end of the summer and we have a G5, two G4s and a MacBook. What do we need for our computers to work there? I know we need some kind of electrical converter...

    Hi Engboy,
Some G4's have auto-switching power supplies, and some require a switch changed on the back to switch between 110 and 240V.
All G5 PowerMacs are auto-switching, but some iMac G5's are 110V only
    Your Macbook will be fine.
Most high speed in Europe will provide an option to get a router, which will certainly have Ethernet.
    Enjoy the tulips.

  • Will Orginal IPHONE work in Japan?

My Husband is in Japan and currently uses softbank as his carrier.
I plan to give my original iPhone to him when I leave the US on vacation to see him. Will Softbank be able to activate my old iPhone for him?

Only 3G phones work in Japan and Korea so your old iphone wont work.
Depending where you live, your phone may be locked to your original carrier as well.

  • Will an iPhone work?

    Hi,
I have to sign up for a new cell phone contract in about a month. I am an American and I live in Germany. We do not know how much longer we will be living in Germany, but for now at least until next January. T-Mobile has an iPhone promotion going on. Since I have to sign up for a new contract I thought I might change phones. I would like to get an new iPhone. My concern is I want to use the iPhone I bought in Germany in the U.S. when I move back but not have to use the German service provider. I would like to deactivate the German service and sign up with a U.S. iPhone service provider, but be able to keep the same phone I bought in Germany. I do not want to have to buy a new iPhone.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks

You will need to buy a new phone when you come back to the US. The German iPhone is carrier locked to T-Mobile and the US iPhone is carrier locked to ATT.
