Will my ipod mini power cord fit my new nano

will my ipod mini power cord fit my new nano

There is no direct to power plug included in the nano pkg., only a usb connector. My mini power is firewire to a wall plug and a regular pinned adapter to the iPod. The connector that came with my iPod mini looks like the same pinning, but it is deeper(?) that the nano plug. I have tried to use it but no go. I thought someone else may have a fix, or an idea as to why it is not working.

I think that is happening is that the microphone is on during this recording.  If you play the music through the iPhone speakers, it will record this sound, albeit at very poor quality.  If you say anything (or laugh uproariously as I did while watching the app in action, then that, too, get recorded.
I am still looking for the solution we all want, which is to save the audio in reasonable quality.
Anyone out there with some ideas?

  • Using iPod mini Power Adapter to charge iPod 5G ???

    Hi!
I got my new iPod 5G. Now I'd like to use the old iPod mini power adapter. It got a Firewire connection. Does it work? Or do I destroy my new iPod???
    Thanks a lot!

The power adapters can be used with any iPod or iPod Nano, they aren't model specific. A 5th Generation iPod can be charged by Firewire, it just can't use a Firewire cable to update. Updating of any iPod after the 4th Generation or the Mini can only be done via USB.

  • Will an iPod Classic 80gb case fit the 160gb Ipod

will an iPod Classic 80gb case fit the 160gb Ipod

The 5th Gen 80GB case would be too loose for the slim 160GB iPod Classic, but maybe you can put in ugly styrofoam fillers. But the 6th Gen 80GB is the same thickness as all 160GB model. So depends on which 80GB model casing you are refering to.
    Dimensions
    5th Gen 80GB = 4.1 x 2.4 x 0.43*
    6th Gen 80GB/160GB  = 4.1 x 2.4 x 0.41*

  • 1st Gen iPod Mini won't work with new version iTrip

    Hello all,
I cannot get my new iTrip (which connects to the bottom of the iPod) to work with my girlfriends iPod mini 1st generation. The new iTrip works fine on my video iPod but not on her mini.
We had the original iTrip and that worked fine but nothing is happening at all when the music is playing and the iTrip is connected. Anything i need to do or install to get this working? I have tried to search the discussions but failed to find a similar problem.
Any help or info will be much appreciated.
    Many thanks.

Ah, i seemed to have fixed it! Well i've been trying for a few weeks now to sort this out and as soon as i put up a post it works. Oh well at least its working now. It seems like that the iPod needs to be playing BEFORE the iTrip is plugged in the turn it on.
    I'll get me coat...

  • IPod Mini: Power On Issues

I just purchased a Apple Refurbished iPod Mini (4GB, Silver, 2nd Gen.) I have reset it, used a different cable, restored it on my Mac G4 using iTunes 7.0.2 and I still have the following strange issue:
If the iPod is turned off it will turn back on by pushing the select button. However, if it is turned off for more than 3 minutes, it will only turn on by holding the Menu and the Select buttons down for 6+ seconds. I get the Apple logo and then the iPod starts normally. However, on occasion, one or more of the custom settings is lost. (i.e. Backlight timer, display date in title bar, etc.)
Does this indicate a defective battery, iPod, etc.?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Since the iPod mini is fairly old, a likely cause is a battery that is worn out and no longer able to hold a charge.
Does the iPod operate (connect to iTunes) and sync when connected to the computer?

  • IPod Mini power up problem

If I press and hold the play/pause button for a couple of seconds to manually turn my mini off, it will turn back on at the touch of click wheel, but only for a short period of time. If I leave it off for awhile (>30 min. or so) I cannot get it to turn back on without doing the reset thing.
However, if I let my mini power down via "sleep" mode, it will turn back on by touching any part of the click wheel, no matter how long it has been asleep.
    Help!

Mine is doing a similar thing - almost every time I turn it off manually, I need to reset it to turn it back on because it won't respond. I tried running the battery all the way down and charging it again, and restoring it and totally wiping everything, and it hasn't helped. It is very frustrating having to reset it every time I want to turn it on - can anyone help???

  • Using ipod mini power adapter for nano?

I just got an ipod nano and I have a few questions:
I noticed that it doesn't come with a charger (or power adapter?...not sure what it's called) which I thought was unhandy for traveling because then I can only charge it through a computer and I won't always have one around. I had an ipod mini before which did come with a charger. Can I charge the nano with my old ipod mini charger?
And also I was stupid and forgot the instalation CD for the nano at my sister's who lives really far away, so I was wondering do I need the CD or is the software that I have for ipod mini ok too?

    Hi Hol,
You can use any iPod charger. See charging FAQ's:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61127
For the software, you definitely want the Nano software. You can download the Updater from Apple which covers all models.
    Good luck,

  • HP G62 Will Not Boot With Power Cord Plugged In

I have an HP G62 laptop that is about four years old. I've had a couple of problems with it before that were resolved relatively satisfactorily, however five or six months ago I started having a new issue. The laptop will not boot with the charging cord plugged in, whether there is a battery in it or not. Nor will it return from sleep mode (screen black, status light on the power button flashing) with the charging cord plugged in, whether there is a battery in it or not. It simply shuts down and I end up with an error screen the next time I boot up. I have tried other charging cords and it has been the same, however the cord will still charge the battery. This means I have to charge the battery, unplug the cord, boot up the computer. This annoyance is worsened by the fact that the battery  is old and unable to  hold charge for very long at all and I fear one day even the battery won't be enough to boot the computer. Can I fix the power cord issue? Should I buy a new battery? Or let my computer give up the ghost and scrounge for a new one? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the charger input could possibly need replaced and/or the charger

  • Computer will only work with power cord plugged in...

A few months ago it started shutting down on its own randomly. Now, it won't start unless the power cord is plugged in. Even when it says its fully charged, and I unplug it, it dies. Do I just need a new battery or is this another problem?

How many cycles does your battery have?

  • Will an ipod touch 5g case fit on an ipod touch 4g?

I currently have an ipod touch 4g, bought in around september of 2011, and i was wondering if i could get a case for it, but most stores offer 5g cases instead of 4g cases, because of the ipod touch 5g.
Do the ipod touch 5G cases fit on ipod touch 4G?

The white colour is the only difference, it is still a 4th gen.
