Will my macbook from 2004 support snow leopard?
I need to know if my macbook 10.5.8 can update to lion software! Or do I need to buy a new MAC?
There are no 2004 MacBooks; if you have a 2004 Apple laptop, it's a PowerBook or iBook and can't run Snow Leopard. Getting Lion 10.7 requires going through 10.6 and that the Mac has at least a Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and at least 2GB of RAM.

Applications on MacBook run slow since upgraded from Tiger to Snow Leopard
I have upgraded my MacBook from Tiger to Snow Leopard. After the upgrade, my Mac runs very slowly and it takes several minutes to load a program. I cannot use my graphic softwares and firefox properly, because it takes several minutes to actually start up the application and also to use the application.
My MacBook states that 45 GB from a total of 110 GB are available space. Do I need to upgrade my HardDrive disk space, or do I need to upgrade my Ram?? What can I do so that my applications/software on my MacBook runs quicker (as they have been prior the Snow Leopard upgrade)?

I downloaded Mountain Lion from being on Snow Leopard and lost my entire Office 2004 suite, including Entourage which was my main email server. If I download Office 2008, will I retrieve all my lost Entourage email folders?
Other options?It's not that simple. You didn't lose your Office 2004 suite. Office 2004 won't run in Mountain Lion. You need to update your Office software. You need to purchase either Office 2008 or 2011. Either one can run in Mountain Lion.

Since upgrading my mid-2010 MacBook Pro from the original Snow Leopard to Yosemite 10.10.2 there have been multiple instances of restart (crash) also slow operation & pop up message stating web content has failed. Any suggestions?

The only observations are that the backup drive is deemed too small and the quite long list of diagnostic reports dated between Jan 18, 2015 (which I believe is the day I upgraded to Yosemite) & today the latest Yosemite update was installed on Jan 28, 2015

I have a Macbook running Snow Leopard which I back up to an external drive using time machine. If I purchase a new MacBook pro and transfer backup from time maching to MacBook Pro will it also transfer Snow Leopard as its is my preferred O.S.

If the new computer did not originally ship with Snow Leopard installed, no, you will not be able to go back from Lion. Snow Leopard lacks the necessary drivers required for newer hardware. -

For what it's worth, from my reading of the Snow Leopard EULA (and I would assume that there is similar language in the EULAs for all other operating systems, as well), I'm not seeing any obligation on the part of Apple to provide Security Updates of any kind, period/full stop. I have no idea whether this "use at your own risk" would survive a legal challenge, or if such a legal challenge would depend on whether or not Apple is still selling (or even giving away for free) an OS, or whether local law would, according to this, override the EULA. Besides that, even when Apple was still actively "supporting" Snow Leopard, which I don't think it is any longer, "use at your own risk" would still have applied to a case where Apple may have been late with a patch, or a response, or an adequate response, to a zero-day threat, such as Flashback was, which was constantly evolving. Many thousands were affected by that, and, to my knowledge, at least, there was no legal action directed at Apple throughout or after that episode. If there was any, I don't think it succeeded.

I have a Macbook pro 2009 with Snow Leopard. Which system can I install without running into complicated problems which I will not be able to solve by myself- a person with limited problem solving abilities. (Mountain Lion, Mavericks, Yosemite?)

What OS will your Garmin work with? Funny there was someone else that did that and upgraded to Yosemite and regretted it.
I'd say Lion if your Garmin is compatible.

I should just change the OS and leave all your apps and data alone. That said, if any of your apps are old and use Rosetta (ppc apps), they won't run under Mountain Lion.
Make sure you take a good Time Machine or Clone backup before you convert.

the Intel Core Duo processor is a 32-bit only processor and not capable of 64-bit.
Only the Core 2 Duo and later processors are capable of 64-bit.

Problems with Aperture after upgrading from Tiger to Snow Leopard
Help! I recently upgraded my IMac operating system from Tiger to Snow Leopard. Now, I am finding my aperture is not responding the way it used to. I cannot change the border dimensions; I can't print. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I was told by Apple Technical Support that they will not provide support for Aperture 2 and that I would have to upgrade to Aperture 3. Is this correct?

On my MacBook Pro offering the App store update, I bought iPhoto 11 originally from the App store. On my iMac, which is newer, iPhoto 11 (which is version 9) came with the computer and I have always got iPhoto updates through Software Update, but Software Update is not offering me an iPhoto update on that computer. So I am thinking that the App store notice on the MacBook Pro may not be accurate.

I set up my personal domain through iWeb. Typing www.sitename.com works great, but if I leave the www off the address it points to a godaddy page where my name is registered. Is there another setting to change for this?
