Will my Microsoft Office disc install on a Mac without a new version?

Hi... sorry if this is a dumb question but I just wanted to know the specifics.
I know how you can apparently run the entire Office suite of programs on a Mac BUT can I install it on the Mac OS using the same disc I did for my Windows-based PC or do I have to go buy a new version of some kind? Thanks.

Even if it didn't, you could still re-install it. Whether you've used up "all remaining disk installs" makes no difference, as when you reinstall it, you wouldn't be installing an additional copy. You'd be reinstalling the same copy.

So you want to view edit and even compose MS Office style documents on your iPad well there ARE ways, several in fact and you should not be put OFF by jbjoret's simple NO.
True facts are that todate Microsoft have not produced a version of MS Office suitable for ios or for that matter the other leading mobile ios (Android) either, but that's not the end of the story.
Within Apples ios you can buy and install versions of Pages and Numbers (The Apple productivity suite) and these will allow you to open edit save print email (in a choice of .doc .pdf or .pages formats).
Third party apps such as Documents to Go work near flawlessly with MS Office documents for creation, editing ....
What you probably need to consider is how you get documents on and off your iPad and here you could consider Dropbox.
For viewing PDFs Word and many other files try Goodreader.
And finally you will need helpers for effective printing (Since Airprint capability is limited to a handful of HP eprinters)
Here you could try PrintBureau combined with helper App WePrint Server (Both PC and MAC compatible) this allows you to print to almost any networked printer via WiFi using the host PC.
If you have a Mac also install Printopia to allow printing again to many networked printers. (Similar PC solutions exist as well
This is a lot of information however rest assured you really can do business with an iPad with near full MS OFFICE interoperability
I say near because you always risk hitting a few formatting and/or complex macro problems with more complex MS OFFICE documents (these happen even between differing versions of MS OFFICE as well)

Office:Mac 2011 only supports add-ins that were developed in VBA. Office:Mac 2008 does not support add-ins at all. A
new version of Office:Mac is slated for release in 2015, there have been no announcements as of this writing (December 2014) whether Microsoft will support additional methods of developing add-ins in the new version of Office:Mac.

Have no idea what UnArchiver is but you can just Copy all your MS office documents over from your PC to the Mac and Office 2011 will read them no problem.
As for other files like images (JPG) and music (MP3) both platforms read these type files without any type of conversion.

Basically i have just got my first Apple MacBook and i have the Pro version, so when i bought it i found out that it doesn't already have an office or word type of product in it, so i decided to buy microsoft office home and student for mac, which i was told would be fine on my macbook.

I was looking for help with this same problem on my Wifes MBP but with Excel, while I was looking for solutions, I tried installing Messenger again, fixing disk permissions with disk utility, as well as other things, none worked. Then I was looking for where this nasty mbukernel file lived.
That was when I noticed that "Microsoft Excel.app" was in the /Applications folder instead of the "/Applications/Microsoft Office 2011", so I moved the Microsoft Excel.app back into the office folder and wallah it all works as intended.
Hopefully that will help yourself and others with this obscure problem.

Actually when LR 5 starts for the first time after it is installed it will have a dialog to Buy, Try or Enter a serial number. You select Enter a serial number and enter the LR 5 serial number first and then because it is an upgrade serial number it will ask for the serial number of a Previous version. You then enter the LR 1 serial number.

I am planning on installing windows on my mac.(Never done that before).
As I am in my final year of my degree I need to use a lot of softwares only available for windows.
My only concern is that will I be able to install Windows 8 (as its the latest version) without any older versions on my Mac?

What model iPod do you have and what iOS is on the iPod?
What is the specific app?
If you have iOS 4.2.1 or later on the iPod and there was version compatible with that version, then you should be able to get a compatible version by:
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

I have also gone into the registry and deleted all references regarding QuickTime. I really don't want to have to reinstall Windows just to be able to install QuickTime. To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up").
In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

Or will a reinstall of the "LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office Version 1.1.3" be required?

OK any question? Install the specific Office version and if that doesn't change the registery keys that NI is depending on reinstall the LV Add-on. Of course NI, software tool-kits check registered software! Why install a "for Office" package that is unusable or (worse from a litigation point) includes functionality for unlicensed or pirated "Office" installations. Again- "*xx For (R) Office xx*" means they have gone through some licensing agreement.

Is there a system that will run Microsoft Office efficiently?

I have a Mac Mini with 4G RAM. I have Microsoft Office for Mac installed and have upgraded to Mountain Lion. My system is painfully slow. Since I use it for business, this is intolerable. Will and upgraded system be any better? Or is Mac just not capable of handling Microsoft Office (including Outlook) efficiently?

You may need a newer version of Office.
Or, forget about Microsoft entirely and use any number of better alternatives. Running Microsoft junk on a Mac is likely to result in it performing like a Windows PC, which is to say, not well.
