Will my PSU handle this rig?

Hi everone. I have a Soyo Raptor 400 watt PSU (specs here : http://www.soyo.com.tw/products/proddesc.php?id=270 ) and was wondering if it will be enough for the machine I want to build. Main usage will include gaming and some video editing. Heres the rig:
K8N Neo4 Platinum nForce4 Ultra
AMD64 3500+ - 4000+ ( depending on what I can find local )
ATI All In Wonder X1800XL
80 GB Maxtor Diamond Max 9 (7800)
1 gig (512x2) Corsair XMS PC3200CPT (same pair in my sig)
HP530i DVD/RW
Will it be enough or should I upgrade the PSU? Any recommendations? Also, if I decide on a dual core X2 CPU, will the power requirements increase for a PSU?

Recommended minimum for Neo4 boards are 24 amps on +12 volts line; and 30 amps is preferred.  Don't believe thy Soyo has that.  Be aware that once you use psus other than Enermax, PCPC, Tagan, OCZ and Antec, labels are misleading and may not reflect actual amps available under normal operating conditions and temperatures when system is stressed.  To compare dual rail psu to single rail psu use this formula.  Single rail equivalent of Dual rail is found by taking 75% of sum of +12V1 and +12V2. Good luck.
EDIT-  Software sensor readings are not very accurate.  Thing to look for is unusual fluctuation (+/- 0.5 volt on 12 volt rail) during CPU burn in or other stress like gaming.

  • Will a Union handle this? Showing aggregates from different groups on the same row

So I want to display a result that includes a sum of the transaction amount for a list of orders.  Each order can have items, and each item has a transaction amount.
Then I have a goal table that keeps track of the "goals" set for a simple forecasting method used by sales.  A goal is defined for each item type and a count.
    Table structures are like this
DECLARE @OrderTran AS TABLE(RowId INT PRIMARY KEY IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, OrderId INT, ItemId INT, ItemAmount DECIMAL(10,2) )
DECLARE @GoalData AS TABLE(RowId INT PRIMARY KEY IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, ItemTypeKey INT, ItemGoalCount INT )
The problem with getting totals for both order transactions AND goals, is there there might not be items in some of the orders for the items that goals set for.  So If I grab the order totals first, then left join on goals, I still might miss out some
of the goal results when I do an aggregate.
    Should union help here?
In other words, get a result from the order totals
Then get a similar result from the goals
    Then union the 2 results?

Are you looking for something like below:
DECLARE @OrderTran AS TABLE(RowId INT PRIMARY KEY IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, OrderId INT, ItemId INT, ItemAmount DECIMAL(10,2) )
DECLARE @GoalData AS TABLE(RowId INT PRIMARY KEY IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, ItemTypeKey INT, ItemGoalCount INT )
    INSERT INTO @OrderTran
    VALUES (1, 1, 10), (2, 1, 22), (3, 2, 12), (4, 1, 50), (5, 2, 100)
    INSERT INTO @GoalData
    VALUES (1, 100), (3, 200)
    SELECT
    COALESCE(O.ItemID, G.ItemTypeKey, 0) As ItemID
    ,O.TotalAmount

    FULL OUTER JOIN
    SELECT ItemTypeKey, SUM(ItemGoalCount) As TotalGoalAmount
    FROM
    @GoalData
    GROUP BY
    ItemTypeKey
    ) G ON O.ItemID = G.ItemTypeKey
    Output
    ItemID | TotalAmount
    | TotalGoalAmount
    1 | 82.00

    2 | 112.00

  • I am wondering about transferring my pc date to my new iMac.  I know there is a migration assistant, but I have multiple drives in my pc.  Will the migration assistant be able to handle this?

I know there is a migration assistant, but I have multiple drives in my pc.  Will the migration assistant be able to handle this?  I'm going to be trying to move the date to a new imac 27' with fusion drive.

the following set of instructions is a little longer, so you might want to print it out and have it handy
    Step 1 - PC
If your PC already is connected to the Internet, hold down the Windows button on
your keyboard and simultanously press R. Into the opening window enter "cmd" (without
the quotation marks). A command line will open, enter "ipconfig" (again without the
quotation marks) at the prompt. Now find the section labelled "Ethernet-Adaptor" and
note the values for IP-Address, Subnet-Mask and Default-Gateway on a sheet of paper
If your PC is not already connected to the internet, you need to manually configure its IP address.
    open Network and Sharing Center
do a right click on Ethernet and select Properties
in middle of the screen there is a box labelled "This connection uses the following items"
out of this box select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)"
click on the Properties button in the right corner
Into the window "Use the following IP address" enter the following values
    IP-Address: 192.168.0.1
    Subnet-Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default-Gateway is the IP-Address of your Router. This value is needed for internet connection, for the file sharing setup only this value can be left empty.
    Step 2 - Mac
If your Mac already is connected to the internet, it is likely that it has automatically receive the necessary parameters from your router and therefore should be in the same network as your PC. To be on the safe side, you can check this by
    open System Preferences
    select Network
choose Ethernet from the panel on the left side of the window
    click on Advanced
    click on TCP/IP
compare the values for IP-Address, Subnet-Mask and Default-Gateway with those you wrote down earlier.
If both PC and Mac have identical numbers in the first three parts of the IP-Address, you are set.
If your Mac is not already connected to the internet, you need to manually configure its IP-Address as well.
In the TCP/IP window you have just opened select "Manually" from the drop down menu "Configure IPv4:"
    Enter the following values
    IP-Address: 192.168.0.2
    Subnet-Mask: same as with PC
    Default-Gateway: same as with PC
Step 3 - Activate File Sharing on PC
    open Control Panel
    select Network and Internet
    select Network and Sharing Center
on the left panel select change advanced sharing settings
in the middle of the new page enable turn on file and printer sharing
Step 4 - Activate File Sharing on Mac
    open System Preferences
    select Sharing
set check mark next to File Sharing (green circle appears on the right side next to File Sharing:)
    click on Options:
set check mark next to Share files and folders using SMB
in the listbox under the text Windows File Sharing make sure there is a check mark next to your account name
Step 5 - Create a share on your PC
In Explorer select the folder you wish to share
do a right click on that folder and select "Share with"
    choose "Specific people"
a new window opens. there select your Windows username (usually the first in the list)
if you plan to copy from Windows to Mac only, it would be sufficient to grant Read permission only, but, since most likely you are the only person to access that share and certainly do not plan to sabotage yourself, Read & Write permission is ok too.
    finally click on "Share"
Step 6 - Create a share on your Mac
Once the check mark next to your account name is set (see above) your home directory is automatically set as a share.
Step 7 - Connect your PC to your Mac-Share
do a right click on the network icon which resides on your desktop or in the left
    panel of every Explorer window
    Select Connect Share
in the text box next to Folder: enter \\<ip-address-of-your-mac>\<your-osx-username>
if you are using the same username and password on both Windows and OSX click on "Finish",
if not set the check mark next to "Connect using different credentials" afterwards click on "Finish" A new window will open where you enter username and password that you are using with OSX
Step 8 - Connect your Mac to your PC-Share
hold down the command key and press K simultanously or in Finder click on Go in the menu at the top of your screen and select "Connect to Server"
in the Window that opens enter smb://<your-windows-username>:<your-windows-password>@<ip-address-of-your-PC/<y our-windows-username>
    or
smb://<ip-adress-of-your-PC/<your-windows-username> you will be asked to enter your Windows username and password in popup window
Now you have both computers connected to each other. Each will provide you access to your home directory of the other computer. Open a second Explorer or Finder window with your local home directory and start copying

  • What's the best way to handle this?

I'm not sure what APIs/setup to use for this situation:
A company wants to store data projects they do for clients. Each year, the data fields are set (as a result of gov't requirements) and they won't change for any client project for that year. however, the fields required can (and usually do) change every year. So things they require this year, might not be needed the next year and new fields might be introduced.
While there are likely to be many common fields from year to year, there's no way to guarantee which ones will remain consistent. They also want to be able to do searches on the data and fields, for projects within a year and across years.
What's the best framework/API/configuration to handle this? EJB? Simple JDBC? If so, how should the database be handled? Won't it have to constantly create new fields in a table? Or is there another way to handle this?
What's the best way from a "clean architecture" standpoint?

dang, I really have to start over? I finally got all this stuff working again.  well, hopefully it won't be as big a pain this time since the data won't be coming from a different machine.   After completing the Migration Assistant process, I had to reinput a bunch of serial numbers for apps, reinstall print and mouse drivers, etc...  I've finally got the new machine up and running smoothly and now I gotta start over? Sigh.
I was hoping that either I could rename the current account after deleting the other one, or just move everything from one account to the other and then delete the 'RJM' account.
ok, so it sounds like here are the steps I need to take:
    - make another full cloned backup of this current machine in Super Duper
    - reboot this machine using the advice in the first post, wipe everything clean and reinstall the OS
    - create a new account like 'user1' and re-do software update (which is like 2.5 gig worth of stuff) and takes like an hour even on a high speed connection
    - then re-do the migration assistant process to the properly named account
    - then delete the 'user1' account
    does that sound right?

  • How to handle this scenario in selection screen?

hi friends...i have 2 radio-buttons (2 parameter fields below each) in one group..the need when one radio button is checked, i need two parameter fields below it to be input enabled and the other to be disabled, if another radio button is checked, then the former two will be disabled and the other two parameter fields to be input enabled..no problems with this..i have written this functionality in at selection-screen output..i want to make each 1 parameter in the two groups to be mandatory..as using obligatory gives problems during at selection-screen output event, i want to achieve this functionality in some other event...i have tried the same in At selection screen on para_1 and at selection screen on para_2 fields, but am not able to achieve the desired functionality..by default the first radio button is checked, if the user wants to click the second radio button, At selection screen on para_1 event gets triggered and it throws the error msg. for the first one & vice versa...can't handle this in start-of-selection event also, as it gives the error msg. in a blank new screen..how to achieve it??
i have checked quite a few SDN threads, but doesn't answer my question
    regards,
    Sathish R

    Hi,
I think you cannot proceed with obligatory statement as it will be triggered before theselection screen events.
You may check the code below.
    PARAMETERS: r1  RADIOBUTTON GROUP rad1 USER-COMMAND abc.
PARAMETERS p1(5).    ( maintained as obligatory)
    PARAMETERS p2(5).
    PARAMETERS  r2  RADIOBUTTON GROUP rad1.
PARAMETERS p3(5).       ( maintained as obligatory)
    PARAMETERS p4(5).

      r1 = 'X'.
    AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT.
      IF r1 = 'X'.

          IF screen-name = 'P4'.
            screen-active = 0.

      ELSEIF r2 = 'X'.
        LOOP AT SCREEN.
          IF screen-name = 'P2'.
            screen-active = 0.
            MODIFY SCREEN.
          ENDIF.

MESSAGE 'Enter the obligatory value' TYPE 'S' DISPLAY LIKE 'E'.
      ENDIF.
IF p3 IS INITIAL AND sy-ucomm NE 'ABC'.
MESSAGE 'Enter the  obligatory value' TYPE 'S' DISPLAY LIKE 'E'.
      ENDIF.
    Hope this will help you.

  • My cube size is go on increasing essbase how to handle this ?

ex:day 1 my cube size is 60 gb.after 2 days it go 80 gb.how to handle this in essbase

May be you can try to do a restructure of the Cube. But it will take more time and and when this restructure is being performed no one will be able to access the cube.
All the pag files will reduce to less files once its done.
We have around 170 pag files and after restructure they have reduced to 130 pag files. You do not need to change any data inside the cube to do this.
The process to do from F to H and back from H to F.
    Restructure to H drive
Create the directories on the H drive if they do not exist. (not sure if this is necessary)
Go to properties of the cube (storage tab) and remove the F drive, and add H drive
Do a stop and start of the database
Go back to properties and insure the H drive is there
Right click on the cube and confirm the H drive is  there
Then go to cube and do a restructure
    Restructure back to F drive
Go to properties of the cube (storage tab) and remove H drive and add F drive
Do a stop and start of the database
Go back to properties and insure F drive is there
Then go to cube, right click and do a restructure back to F.

  • Will my PSU support Crossfire?

Hello, I apologize for the amateur question but I am new to the dual GPU scene. I currently own a Alienware Aurora R4 with an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3820 CPU @ 3.60GHz processor, Radeon 7950 GPU, and a DELL W299G 875W PSU. This is the generic power supply that dell sends out with most of its Alienware builds so I am sure some of you are familiar with it. I am curious if my current power supply will support two Radeon 7950's running in Crossfire. It seems my total wattage is sufficient but I am not sure if I have an extra power cable running from the PSU to connect to a second Radeon 7950. Should I purchase the second GPU or upgrade the PSU first? I appreciate any responses, I will link out the PSU and GPU exact specs below.
    Dell W299G 875 PSU
    www.pc-specs.com/.../1405
    Radeon 7950
    www.amd.com/.../7900

300 Watts is a fairly normal power supply for simple systems with low demand video. You will have only 275 watts left , which could be iffy. I would go for a bigger supply. You are correct thinking the ratings are optimistic. We had had several posters recently that could not get the expected power from their basic OEM supply.
Do a web search and see what others do with a pair of 7950s. Here's several hits:
750W (or greater) power supply with four 75W 6-pin PCI Express power connectors recommended for AMD CrossFire technology.
For a single card, the total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in power supply selection!!! Sufficient Total Combined Continuous Power (30 amps) available on the +12V Rail(s) rated at 45°C - 50°C ambient temperature, is the most critical factor. Therefore 60 amps for dual cards.

  • Will Oracle OLAP handle our case(s).

We are about to build a cube to roughly handle following dimensions and facts:
15 dimensions ranging from a couple of members to 40,000+ members.
A fact table holding 200,000,000+ rows
So my question is: Does anybody has a sense of whether OLAP has a chance of handling this data? We are pretty certain that the data will be sparse.
A second item relates to whether Oracle OLAP cubes give us the ability to compute what we refer to as "Industry" data. We serve a number of companies and we compute metrics that applies to their data. In order to allow these companies to see what they are doing against the other companies we provide the metrics for every other company; this metrics are considered Industry. So my question is: Do OLAP cubes have any structure or mechanism that allows to compute these metrics within the same cube or do we have to create a cube to hold Industry metrics?
    Thanks,
    Thomas

    Thomas,
I cannot advise you for or against based on the small amount of information I have. I will not deny that at 15 dimensions you are at the upper limit of what you can achieve using the current (11.1) OLAP technology, but I have seen cubes of this size built and queried, so I know it is possible.
The answer would depend on many things: hardware, query tools, expectations for query and build performance, and whether you have a viable alternative technology (which will determine how hard you will work to get past problems). It even depends on your project time frames, since release 11.2 is currently in beta and will, we hope, handle greater volumes of data than 11.1 or 10g.
One important factor is how you partition your cube. At what level do you load the data (e.g. DAY or WEEK)? What is your partition level (e.g. MONTH or QUARTER)? A partition that loads, say, 10 million rows, is going to be much easier to build than a partition with 50 million rows. To decide this you need to know where your users will typically issue queries, since queries that cross partitions (e.g. ask for data at the YEAR level but are partitioned by WEEK) are significantly slower than those that do not cross partitions (e.g. ask for data at WEEK when you are partitioned by MONTH).
Cube-based MVs can offer advantages for cubes of this size even if you define a single, 15-dimensional, cube. One nice trick is to only aggregate the cube up to the partition level. Suppose, for example, that you load data at the DAY level and partition by QUARTER. Then you would make QUARTER be the top level in you dimension instead of YEAR or ALL_YEARS. The trick is to make YEAR be an ordinary attribute of QUARTER so that it appears in the GROUP BY clause of the cube MV. Queries that ask for YEAR will still rewrite against the cube, but the QUARTERS will be summed up to YEAR using standard SQL. The result will generally be faster than asking the cube to do the same calculation. This technique allows you to lower your partition level (so that there are fewer rows per partition) without sacrificing on query performance.
Cube-based MVs also allow you to raise the lowest level of any dimension (to PRODUCT_TYPE instead of PRODUCT_SKU say). Queries that go against the upper levels (PRODUCT_TYPE and above) will rewrite against the cube, and those that go against the detail level (PRODUCT_SKU) will go direct to the base tables. This compromise is worth making if your users only rarely query against the detail level and are willing to accept slower response times when they do. It can reduce the size of the cube considerably and is definitely worth considering.

  • Can a PowerBook G4 handle this game?

These are the system requirements of a game I want to get. But can my computer handle this game? I have a standard PowerBook G4 12" running Tiger.
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later
CPU Processor: PowerPC G5 or Intel chipset
CPU Speed: 1.8 GHz or faster
    Memory: 512 MB or higher
Hard Disk Space: 3.5 GB free disk space
Video Card (NVidia): GeForce FX 5200 or better
Video Memory (VRam): 64 MB or higher
    Recommended System Requirements:
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4.6 or later
CPU Processor: PowerPC G5 or Intel chipset
CPU Speed: 2.0 GHz or faster
    Video RAM: 128 MB
Do you think the standard PowerBook G4 12" could handle this game? The only things my computer doesn't meet are the CPU speed and the CPU chip set (I'm a G4 at 1.5 GHz). Thanks.
    PowerBook G4 12.1 1.5 GHz 512 MB RAM   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Hi College Caleb,
I think the game will run on your system, although it might be slow sometimes:
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/archive/index.php/t-176229.html
There's a patch out now from the makers of the game that apparently fixed the sound issues on all systems. Furthermore, even people running Civ IV on dual 2.5 GHz G5s have been experiencing performance issues. Probably they will come up with another patch to make it run more smoothly on all systems. I think I'll give it a try on my PB G4 soon.
    Good luck.

  • How to handle this : event.result[0].parameter1[0].parameter2[0]

    hi,
    i know we can reach
    aComponentSample["sampleControl" + i + ""].visible = false;
aComponentSample is a component and contains lot of controls. for example; sampleControl1, sampleControl2.. and so we can reach them via parameters (like i) with this ["sampleControl" + i + ""]. usage.
i am wondering how can i handle this in resultEvent?   how can i give the child nodes (parameterA) via parameter?
    event.parameterA[0].parameterB[0].parameterC[0]
thank you for your time. have a good day.

hi again, i think i could not express clearly.
i have a web service operation result handler, and this operation back in "object" format.
    thats the handler
                private function getFullWeatherValues_Handler(e:ResultEvent):void
                    var obj:Object = e.result[0].regions[3].cityValues[5].temperature;                (it returns integer)
i can get the exactly temperature which i want but i don't want to writethose "result[0]" or "regions[3]" or "cityValues[5]" and even temperature.
i want to write a function to reach a value ( for example temperature) which gived as parameter and  i will give all other  "result[0]" or "regions[3]" or "cityValues[5]" as parameter to. my question is how can i handle it?
thank you for your answer,  any advice will be great.

  • Can my AE handle this?!

My ISP have recently starting offering a broadband service of 25000 Kbit/s down and 2500 Kbit/s up.
In theory this sounds great, but I have also been reading of problems that some customers have had with their routers - it seems that some routers simply cannot handle this speed, and don't deliver anywhere near this speed to devices on the wireless network.
Does anyone know if the latest Airport Extreme can handle this speed, or will it max out somewhere below this? I know that all these speeds are "best efforts" from the ISP, but the point is can the router cope with anything close to that?
    I'm currently running 10000 Kbit/s down and 1000 Kbits/up with no problems.
    Thanks

    25000 Kbits/s == 25 Mbps
    2500 Kbits/s == 2.5 Mbps
Every AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) is faster than that. You shouldn't have any problem.

  • OutOfMemoryError - good way to handle this error?

    Hello.
I am pulling in images into an array, and every now and then I will get an error stating:
    OutOfMemoryError
I posted earlier concerning how to examine whether an image can be garbage collected or not, and I got some useful replies.
But, I was wondering if there were any tips on how to handle this error.

In general you cannot handle this error as it is possible that your
error handling code with cause the error again. In reality you
can catch it somewhere where you know a large chunk of memory has been
    freed.
