If I create a report on universe and then make some changes in the universe, will my report be ok?

When a universe changes, reports based off that universe need to be validated the next time they are opened. If there is no change to the data in the report, the report will open as before. However, if the data has become invalid the report will first need to be fixed before it can be used. Depending on the change this can be done either by refreshing the report or re-editing the query.
If you get a connection error when refreshing a report the universe may have changed in ways that make the query definition in the report unusable (for instance, a nested prompt has been introduced). To fix the report you will need to re-edit the query.
If the universe cannot be found on the Crystal Management Server (this could happen if a universe is not imported correctly) the report can still run by using the Set DataSource Location feature.
To use the Set DataSource Location feature, create a query definition (equivalent to the original one used in the report) using a universe from the CMS. Then set the data source location to this new query.

Will the reports developed in sql server 2008 r2 BIDS work when deployed on sql server 2012 reporting manager?
when I check on Microsoft site it says
Reports are not upgraded when you upload a report definition file directly to the report server
or SharePoint site. Upgrading a report definition in SQL Server Data Tools is the only way to upgrade the .rdl file.
When you open an .rdl file in Report Designer in SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT), if the report was
created for a previous namespace, Report Designer automatically creates a backup file and upgrades the report to the current namespace.
This is the only way you can upgrade a report definition file.
Now here is another confusing statement which says
You can upload an .rdl file created in an earlier version of Reporting Services to a SQL Server
2012 report server and it is automatically upgraded on first use. The report server stores the report definition file in the original format. The report is automatically upgraded the first time it is viewed, but the stored report definition file remains
unchanged.
All I want to know is if I deploy a rdl made in 2008 r2 to 2012 will it work on the report manager of
2012?

I have tested this fucntionality and can confirm that ssrs 2008 r2 reports work when you deploy them on new ssrs 2012 report manager .
No Migration is required .
I didnt even moved report server dbs .All I did is just deployed reports on the report manager and it worked .

Branched scenario with passing score required will not report in LMS (Connect)

I have a couple scenario modules as a part of a large curriculum assembled in Connect. The problem is that some of the Captivate files won't report correctly in Connect. I've tried multiple things to troubleshoot. All projects upload to the server successfully. The only thing that the projects that won't report correctly have in common is that they all use the advanced answer option and were developed in 5.5 and were moved to 6.0 when the changover happened. Other files in the curriculum that were developed in 5.5 have had no issue with the upgrade. I assume the problem is a new setting that 6.0 now has that wasn't available in 5.5 but can't figure out what it is.
Some modules use advanced answers with the action of "continue" and "show feedback message" checked.
Some modules use advanced answers to branch by using "jump to slide" where they see a whole feedback slide (no feedback message selected). Then, the feedback slide has a button on it that will report the score desired for that answer (the best way I could figure out how to make it do what I wanted it to do in 5.5).
...Either way when the module uses advanced answers the project will not report correctly.
I have a passing score required on these modules. When going through the project, the whole thing works great. The quiz review slide at the end will tell you that you got 13/13 or whatever the final score is. The projects are set to close upon clicking the continue button on the last slide. Upon close, you're brought back to Connect and the curriculum page will say that you had 1/Unlimited attempts and score is N/A.
Why won't the score report? I'm very confused by this. Any help/suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

Additional information;
The Micro-cell never is handed a DHCP IP address by the RV320, so it seems the Micro-cell cannot continue with its boot-up - only gets to power light and intermittent blinking internet / network light. Conversely, when Micro-cell is connected to one of other routers listed in this post it receives a DHCP lease within a minute and continues to successfully boot-up and connect to AT&T service, therefore all its status lights go solid green.

This you can achieve at query level.
I have few question.. First let me know how many KFs you have in the query and based on what characteristic you want to compare the KFs.
Let me assume that you want to compare "SALES" KF for the last and current year.
1) Add the "SALES" KF to the Query.
2) Rename it as "SALES - Prior Year"
3) Copy the above KF and rename the new KF as "SALES - Current Year"
4) In the "SALES - Prior Year", add the date (say, Calendar Date, Fiscal Period, etc.) as per yr requirement. Keep offset as "-1"
5) Do the same for "SALES - Current Year" . No offset.
6) Now create a new formula to find the difference between "SALES - Prior Year" and "SALES - Current Year" .
Hope you got some idea!!

Will SUBMIT report EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY work, when Run in Background?

You can use SUBMIT <report> EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY, and then Call the FM LIST_FROM_MEMORY to get the Data.
This works fine, when the Program is Run in Foreground. My question is, will it work when I Run the Program in Background? i.e. When I Run the Program in Background, will the SUBMIT Statement, Export the List to Memory? Because only then the FM LIST_FROM_MEMORY will get the Data.
Any alternate solution to meet the same requirement will be appreciated.

I have a Power MAC G5 dual 2ghz that has a peculiar problem. The monitor will not report until the machine is stopped and started 5 or 6 times. Once booted it will restart without problem if done so from the apple menu. Swapped out all hardware

My Power MAC G5 has a peculiar problem. The monitor fails to report until the machine is started and shut down 5 or 6 times. Once it has booted it can be restarted without incident from the Apple menu. I have swapped out all of the hardware. Monitor, Memmory,Video Card and reset the PRAM. After resetting the PRAM it booted on the first attempt and I thought it was solved. But the next day it was back to starting and stopping until the Monitor came on. Does anyone have a suggestion? It could be a bad PRAM battery corrupting your PRAM. Typically when I have monitor issues on startup it is a bad PRAM battery.

If you have a digital multimeter you can check the condition of your present battery. It should read at least 3.2V if it is the 3.6V half-AA battery type. A new battery provides 3.67 Volts DC. A bad battery provides under 3.2 Volts DC. Ideally this should be measured while the battery is under load; added recommendation from Hans777:

Will a report see the results of a POST?

let's suppose I edit data through Forms and, after editing them, I'll press a forms button called 'Print' that will print these data by calling Reports. But if I've updated these data by using POST built-in, will Reports find these data?

A report can't see the results of a POST built-in.
Forms and Reports can't run in the same database session.
Forms must commit data (COMMIT_FORM) before using in Reports.
In simple cases you can transfer data from Forms to Reports using record groups
(and then, after printing, commit data in Forms).
One simple example - Forms transfers to Reports records from DEPT block:

Reports module must have query with the same name as parameter in ADD_PARAMETER statement
(in this code - Q_1), and SQL Query Statement in Reports must have

Will the reports scale

Hello AllI have created a report connected to a data source at design time. At run time a condition is added to the query in Java and the resultset is passed to the report. The report first page displays correct information. When i click on the next page the report sends a request back to the servlet, the run time condition is not available and the report displays the data which was used to design the report. Why does the report send the request back to the servelet everytime i select go to the next page..If this is the way it behaves then it will not scale. Am i doing this right or is something missing..Any help is highly appreciated thanksram 

 The report viewer works via postback for any requests (page navigation, print, export, refresh etc on the viewer toolbar). From your comments, it appears the postback is re-entering from the start of your report load/generation code. The recommended workflow is to store the report ReportSource in HTTP Session, then have CrystalReportViewer retrieve it. You'll have to ensure that postbacks do not go through your report loading/generation code, but go directly to the viewing code. You can do this in one of two ways: 1. Keep the report load/generation code and viewing code in the same servlet, but detect any postbacks from the viewer to ensure you don't go through the report load/generation code but go directly to the viewing code (where you would pass it the ReportSource from HTTP Session). 2. Separate the report load/generation code and viewing code. Here you'll have one servlet load/generate the report and store the ReportSource in HTTP Session, then send a client redirect (Response.sendRedirect(....)) to a servlet with viewer code which retrieves the ReportSource from HTTP Session. Here, any postbacks from the viewer will go directly to the viewer servlet.TUeda

we have a report on obiee 11.1.1.5.0 with following details
we have report with columns destination region,service , origin country and revenue
and report is created as follows

the logic i have used here is :- i have revenue and in pivot have applied SHOW DATA AS PERCENT OF LAYER(DESTINATION GEOGRAPHY)
till here everything is fine but when i export it to excel then i get this all values divided by 100 for eg:-

How to create new TC which will call report group "MGRO"?

I want to create new transaction code which should call report Group MGRO. After executing the new transaction, the first screen of the user should be the selection screen of report group "MGRO" to run the report group.

Will Crystal Reports XI run on VMware ESX 3.5 in a virtual machine

I am running VMware ESX 3.5 Update 2 Host with a Windows 2003 R2 Standard on a Virtual Machine. I initially P to V the original server that was running Crystal Reports XI to ESX but it then would not open Crystal Reports, you would click on the excutable and nothing would happen. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and nothing changes. I then deployed a new VM from Template and reloaded Crystal Reports and the same thing happens! Does anyone have any ideas?

I have Windows Vista. I have tried to import my favorites from Internet Explorer but it won't import it just says it has stop functioning & will send report to Microsoft.

I have a lap top with Windows 7 & I was able to import my favs with no problem, so wondering if it is the Vista that is doing it

It usually works better if you export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
