So I mac was on my computer chair and my sister decided toe spin the chair which results in my mac falling to the ground with 20pound text books fall onto of it. Result is a small dent below my laptop and chipped on the sides. Will Apple cover this? I don't have applecare.

Dents are likely to be called abuse, and not covered.
If you are not happy about its new look, maybe the chair-spinner should pay to get it repaired.

The Apple warranty does not cover accidental damage. You could always buy a case so the damage is not obvious.

If it's not damaged (water, fallen, etc.), you will have warranty if you bought it less than one year ago.

A cracked screen is not really covered by the warranty since it is not due to a manufacturing defect. However, sometimes if you make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store (yu can go to German one) the Genius will replace the iPod at no cost. I have read the warranty but it's rather vague, in short I don't want to ship my device off to have them deny it and make me pay £20 to get it back. It's a waste of their time + my time and money.

if your have dropped the port cover it is not something that will hinder sony to open set.
but be sure that water did not enter the phone because it could be a cause of freeze in such case. if you are sure water has not entered phone then there is no harm sending it in. but before sending it in. remove unnecessory applications or games and try. if it do not work then reset the phone to factory setting and try and if it is still same send it in.

I had a pretty bad accident, I am fine but my iPad 3 is broken. The whole screen is cracked and it is folded...so badly damaged. But it is still under the Apple 1-year complimentary warranty. If you purchased the new AppleCare extended warranty with your iPhone 4S, it extends the standard one year warranty by an additional year and includes insurance as well for accidental damage with a $50 deductible. This is limited to two claims during the two year period.

If we were talking about a running laptop, I'd agree, but there are no vents at all in the iPhone. It shouldn't have been any worse than if it were in a case. Something is wrong. My first suspicion would be that it was liquid damaged at some point, but it's not impossible for it to have been a battery failure, etc.
I'll give the OP the benefit of the doubt in this case. If it was abused or damage, Apple will know when they get it in their hands.
