Will new photos run in a slideshow displayed while shooting tethered?

basically the title says it all. I understand this functionality was included in Lightroom 4, but was dropped in the initial release of Lightroom 5. Did it make it back in during subsequent patches?

I have an update - I downloaded LR4 and what I wanted to do above works!
So I think there is a bug with LR5.
I'm new to Lightroom - this would be a barrier to me buying LR5. Might have to buy LR4 beforehand...

Check once again in IMG>SD>Basic func>Pricing >Pricing control>define condition table>conditions : allowed fields> go to new entries then press F4
check here newly created field is there or not
(or) when creation of condition table check properly next page button in menu bar
still if its not found

Applescript to launch and run an iPhoto Slideshow - needed

How do I make an applescript that will launch and run an iphoto Slideshow for
my dementia Mama.
She can read email, but iPhoto is too much for her.
Also, can iPhoto slideshows play just a specified album

Welcome to this forum.
The following script should launch a slideshow from the choosen iPhoto album, using the predefined slideshow settings. Just press the Escape key to end the slideshow.
*tell application "iPhoto"*
activate
*set R to choose from list (get name of albums 9 through -1) with prompt "Please choose an album:"*
*if R is false then return* -- user canceled
*set theAlbum to (album 1 whose name is item 1 of R)*
*select theAlbum*

How do you run a slideshow with no music in new Photos app

In the new Photos app I can find no way of running a slideshow without music - either the standard themes or selecting my own music. How can I run a slideshow with no music at all? No setting, tab or option seems to be available to achieve this.

Hit top right arrow for slide show; click on Music, click button next to search; choose Theme songs, click on blue check mark to remove it, then hit PLAY SLIDESHOW.

In the new Photo app 'Projects' will not stay open

In the new Photo app. released last week, I can not get the 'projects' to remain open. It just crashes and closes and actually now , since this afternoon I can not open any of it without it crashing.
i have a mid 2011 iMac running Yosemite 10.10.3.
i have a few photo books, slideshows and cards in the projects if this helps.
If anyone can help I would really appreciate it, even if its just so I can access the photos.

Many people are reporting the project->crash problem. To the best of my knowledge, there is no fix for it.
For some folks, a temporary workaround is to select View->Sidebar and access the projects *individually*.

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. In LR5, the slideshow does not update with new photos taken by a tethered camera

I'm just trying out LR5 and have found a problem - I've watched vidoes where in LR4 you can setup a slideshow to play from a folder, and while the slideshow is playing you can take new photos from a tethered camera and it will automatically add it to the slideshow.
In LR5, on my computer (Mac), the incoming photo seems to get stuck and does not make it into the slideshow. I have to stop the slideshow, and restart it to see the new incoming photo taken by tethered camera. I need this function for an event, so I'm just wondering whether I'm doing something wrong, or whether it is a bug in LR5?
Note: I've selected the mode "Use: All Filmstrip Photos". What I've observed is that while playing the slideshow without going fuill screen, a newly taken photo from the tethered camera appears as a white tile, but then the thumbnail contents do not change. When I stop the slideshow, the photo then gets "Developed" and then it will be in the slideshow the next time I play it.

Nearly automatically.
This will be a major upgrade, and Aperture will have to upgrade your library.
As a precaution, make sure you have a working backup of your library, and I'd keep a copy of the Aperture 2.1.4 Application installer as well.
Also it is recommended to repair the permissions and to rebuild the library, to make sure that the library has no corruptions before you upgrade.
Rename the Aperture Library to a name different from the default name before you upgrade.
Launch the new Aperture version by double clicking your Aperture library. Aperture will prompt you, that it is necessary to upgrade the library; let it run, this may take a while. And yes, you should find all your photos, projects, folders, etc. after the upgrade just as you imported and organized them.

Somehow I have lost all the photos in my iPhoto - I downloaded some new photos and they went into a slideshow package - and I now can't find my 5000 photos. Hoping it's a simple explanation!

After downloading a new batch of photos, all my iPhoto pictures have disappeared - I have tried to recover them - assume they are in my machine somewhere but how do I get them back? iPhoto is working with all new photos but the old ones have disappeared. Also my screensaver using a picture from my library changed overnight to an apple photo.

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Connect a blank powered external drive to the PC.
Right click on the Disk in the File manager and choose format: exFAT
(if it's a XP machine, first install exFAT from Microsoft and reboot)
navigate to your user account folders on the PC and drag and drop copy (or copy and paste) to the external drive.
(if a program has your files, then export them out first)
Hook up the drive to the Mac, and transfer files to the desktop or to their same appropritate folders.
Import photo's into iPhoto program, import music into iTunes etc and they will manage those files.
You can continue to use the external exFAT drive between Mac's and PC's
Do not format the drive NTFS or FAT, NTFS can't be written too by the Mac and FAT can't hold over 4GB sized files.
If you format exFAT on the Mac, it likely won't work correctly on the PC.
"Migration" type programs are a utter waste of time and effort between PC's and Mac's for the fact that only certain files (and no programs or anything else) will work between them, also it's a hassle and takes too long. So don't even bother with it.

I have iPhoto 11 installed on my MacBook. I am now unable to import new photos using USB or by plugging the camera directly into the laptop. Never had that probem before with this camera. Perhaps just reinstall iPhoto from the iLife disk?

Okay I will try reformating the camera's card. However all is well when I export photos to my iMac at home or onto my iPad.
If your suggestion does not work should I try reinstalling iPhoto from the iLife disk? If so, how do I go about doing that or is there a website somewhere explaining this?

As of recently any photos I add to a shared photostream will not update for others and I don't see the updated photos on my other devices. Only I can see them from the device that i've posted from. How come others sharing this photostream are no longer getting the new photos? My iphone (the device i'm adding from) shows 20 pictures in this shared photostream and yet 4 other people that I share this photostream album with and my ipad only show 12 photos. For the past week I keep adding photos thinking people will see them but it just won't update the new ones. Any ideas how to fix this?

You can stop new photos being automatically added to Photostream in iPhoto from iPhoto preferences > Photostream.

You can run iPhoto 9.2.3 with the system you currently have. It's available thru iLife 11 as Niel has already mentioned.

New Photos update will not allow me to insert pictures in to iDVD? Please help

When I open iDVD and look for photos it does not show anything even though I have photos in the new Photos program as well as the old version of iPhoto? Please help!!! I'm a photographer and videographer and am making a DVD of the video and photos and can't upload any of my photos to the DVD before burning.

In order to have the new "photos" app photos appear in my iDVD project, I have to export those photos (thousands of photos) to ANOTHER folder on my hard drive??? Is there not a way to tell iDVD to "see" / "recognize" / "point to" the app photos? That doesn't seem best as I will be duplicating thousands of photos and videos. There has got to be a away for one program to "see" the other.
Second - the response about saving an iDVD project as "save as disk image" I'm not sure I'm doing correctly. I've done it several times and all I get is an icon on my desk top that looks like an external HD. When I click on it, a folder opens w/ "AUDIO_TS" and "VIDEO_TS". What am I to do then? How do I get it to "launch in DVD"? How do I burn to a disk w/ disk utility?
I started this process because after creating a project and burning it to disk, the voice on my video was not in sync w/ the video. It worked fine IN iDVD. Burn it to a disk and when played on my DVD player, totally out of sync and the photos are fuzzy. It plays fine on my laptop, but not on my dvd player. So I kept seeing this solution and I am lost. I thought I was doing it correctly - took a good 4 and half hours to create the "save as disk image", but once done, all I seem to get is a folder w/ 2 additional folders. Not sure what to do next.
Please help.
