Will not allow me to eject ipod

when i go to eject the ipod from itunes it says "the iPod cannot be ejected because it contains files that are in use by another application" what do i have to do?

If you are using Windows XP, there might be a program open thats reading files off of the iPod.
Usually its nonsense, and no program is actually reading anything off the ipod except for iTunes. Anytime you see this screen (which is pretty annoying, but atleast theres a way), do this:
1. Close all applications (Word, Internet Explorer, etc) EXCEPT iTunes
2. CTRLALTDEL. A task manager should pop up (if not, click Task Manager)
3. Click on a tab that says Processes
4. Find a process named "explorer.exe" and choose to end the process
*Explorer.exe is sort of like your Windows itself, and by ending the process you basically make everything disappear except your desktop wallpaper (no icons, folders, start menu). This will close any "connection" between the iPod and Windows
5. In the Task Manager, click File, and then New Task
6. Type in "Explorer.exe" without the quotes
7. Let Windows load up the desktop and start menu (like your system would as if it were starting up)
8. Open up iTunes again, and eject.
This should work.

My password will not allow me into my ipod touch

Hi all,
I have my ipod touch only a short while, I have availed of the password facility and it worked well until just recently when I entered my password and didnt get into my ipod. the music seems to be still playing on random and it wont stop. I dont know how to get in to stop it playing.
i am very annoyed now and getting increasingly dissatisfied with the product as i need to use it for my studies.
please someone help!

Is it not excepting your password? is the keyboard not typing out the password you are providing?
If you are 100% sure about the password you may wish to try the options below.

Please keep in mind that if you restore from backup. And you are still not able to get in with your password. You will need to restore as new so this removes the password. Unless you have an iTunes iPod Touch backup that was backed up before you setup pass code lock.

Deauthorizing the computer will only cause you to have to enter a password to play iTunes Store purchases on that computer. It doesn't have anything to do with media thats synced to the iPod, other than the account user name is synced too.

If you want to delete the music library on your device and make the new computer its "home" computer, choose Erase and Sync. iTunes will delete all songs and playlists on your device, and then will copy the music library and playlists from the new home computer to your device.
If you want to move the iTunes Store purchases on your device to the new computer, choose "Transfer Purchases." The new computer must be set up with your iTunes Store account and authorized to play your iTunes Store purchases in order to transfer your iTunes Store purchases.

Synchronization generally occurs only in one direction, from your computer to your device. However, if you are legally allowed to transfer song files, you can use your iPod as a hard disk3. An exception is the transfer purchases feature, which allows you to restore purchased iTunes content to an authorized computer from your device.

Somehow my itunes started a new library and I lost my old library. Itunes will not allow me to sync new music to my ipod without deleting stored music from ipod. How can I start using this new library and sync the new music without losing existing music.

Somehow my Itunes started a new music library and I lost the old library. Itunes will not allow me to sync new music from my computer to my Ipod because it is now in a different library. Itunes wants to delete all my Ipod music before sync any new music. How do I work around this. I think this happened during Itunes Upates.

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

The only available, signed, iOS, for your iPod, is iOS 7.1. That's why you can't install iOS 6.1.6.

Connect the iPod to its syncing computer and restore via iTunes. If iTunes asks for the passcode and you can't enter the passcode or yu do not have the syncing computer, place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore. For recovery mode see:

Are you sure you authorized it for the ID)s) that purched all the media on the iPod?
If so them maybe:

ITunes will not allow me to put songs on my Ipod...

I updated my itunes and ipod and everything. I've had my ipod for a year now and have never had a problem like this. I drag my songs from my music folder onto my ipod itunes area and it says it's putting it on my ipod but when it finishes the song(s) are nowhere to be found. I have like 2500 songs on my ipod and numerous videos so it's not like I've never done this before. It only happened when I updated to the new iTunes so I figured I'd uninstall it and put back the old itunes I had which was iTunes6.0.5 and I get this error now when I try and open it:

I installed itunes 06 and now it will not allow me to put my purchased songs on my ipod. I get the notice that my computer is not authorized. Yet, each time I try to authorize it, I receive the notice that authorization was successful and there is only one computer authorized. I never had this problem before I installed itunes '06. Can anyone help? It sounds like the same problem the person before me had.

TS1398 My wireless router failed and I had to purchase a new one. My security on the new one will not allow me to use the same password. I entered a new password, but of course it is not on my ipod or ipad mini . How can I enter new password ?

Could you post your diagnostics for us please?
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
... and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen:
... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here. (Use your Ctrl-V keyboard shortcut to paste.)
