Will not bring favorites over from IE8
I dloaded firefox to Windows 7 but it will not bring the favorites over. I clicked on "import" and it said it did it but they are no where to be found. Thats problem #1
Problem #2, The reason I have Windows 7 is because my xp computer crashed. On that computer I had Firefox and a big favorite list. I need this list, I want to open that list in Firefox but as you can see from problem #1 I cannot do it because I cannot find it. So #2 Question is "What is the name of the folder which held all of the favorites information" and how can I access it.
I miss Firefox and don't like IE in any form but these "Favorites" problems are keeping me using IE8, Please Help!!!!!
I'd like to hear from the "Awesome" support group that Firefox exclaims about on the support welcome screen. I asked the above question 3 weeks ago and as anyone can see there is no " Awesome" answer even though there are 3 other people with this problem. My opinion is that there is no such thing as a software program that works except for MacIntosh. I have zero problems with 'Safari' and zero problems with anything else that is on my Mac. I'll wait a few more days and if I don't get an answer on this I'm just going to purge Firefox from my system and look for something else. Unfortunately I have wasted too much time on half-butt programs such as this one where simple things must get needless research by the user to just do what it's supposed to do in the first place.

Photoshop Elements 6 will not bring in photos from iPhoto
Hi -- I had Elements 4.0 and just upgraded to Elements 6 (I am running OSX 10.5.4) -- when I go to open a photo it will not let me click on them, they either disappear from the screen or I just simply can't choose a photo. What do I do? Does Elements 6 support 10.5.4? Thank you.
To clarify the original poster's question, there is, indeed, a problem with Photoshop Elements 6 on MacOS X. I don't know what various versions are involved. It is certainly an Adobe problem.
Do the following:
1) Start Photoshop Elements
2) Select File -> Open
3) In the Apple File Open dialog, go down to the Media -> Photos link on the lower left and click it.
4) All your iPhoto content will appear in the right. But if you try to click a file, it will get all confused.
I'm sure this is the problem the original poster is talking about and it is a problem that Adobe should, but probably never will, fix. Photoshop Elements can certainly open and edit anything in iPhoto, but not via this path. You have to set up Elements as the external editor, or open files via drag-n-drop out of iPhoto. -
I have followed all the steps to update to the latest version of Firefox, uninstall the old sync (which never worked anyway) and create a Firefox account to install the new sync. The Firefox sync tab shows computers as synced, but even after restarting the computer, it does not bring up browser tabs from the other computer. Both have all boxes checked on sync.
One computer has XP, my laptop has Win7.*The location bar is the address bar on the Navigation Toolbar there you type the address of web pages.
*The "3-bar" Firefox menu button ([[Image:New Fx Menu]]) is positioned at the right end of the Navigation Toolbar.

FC will not accept MP4 converted from Handbrake.
I used Handbrake to convert a DVD(not a copyright issue) to a MP4 file.I-Movie will accept it, but not FC. FC will not let me bring it over from I-Movie either. Gives this message, file Error:1 file recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown. Any ideas, how I can get FC to recognize the file.

Handbrake is not the right app to convert DVD video for editing in FCE. (Technical reasons in the conversion process.)
You should use MPEG Streamclip instead. It's free. However, you also need the QuickTime MPEG2 Playback Component if you don't already have it on your Mac. ($20, downloadable from the Apple Online Store).
In MPEG Streamclip, convert the video to QuickTime using either the Apple DV/DVCPRO-NTSC or Apple Intermediate Codec compression scheme. -

the setup works find in my testbed with a rj45 cross over cable between them or even with a WANEM cloud emulator(free tool).
after migrating from CU to fibre they won't to talk to each other anymore. worse, both refuse to bring up their wan side fibre SFP.
the "media-type" sub i/f command was used to change to SFP from RJ45
after that, the EN SFP light appears on both routers, but no link light

LR 2.7 does not bring up images from Nikon D7100 which I have just purchased. I have downloaded latest DNG raw converter 7.4 but does not work. The images come through fine in Bridge but not Lightroom. What is the problem?
Since camera makers insist on their own proprietary file formats, Adobe must provide support for each new camera as it is introduced. When a new version of Lightroom is released all development and support for the previous version ends. Your camera wasn't even mentioned or introduced when Lightroom 2.7 was released. Consequently, there can be no support for it. When you buy the newest camera model you should expect to also buy updated software to support that camera. In any event, the raw processing in the latest version of Lightroom is so far superior to what you have you really need to upgrade your Lightroom. You might consider using the Lightroom 5 beta until the official release.
Are you sure the DNG converter doesn't work? You only point it to the folder containing your raw files. The DNG converter doesn't list the contents of the folder. You will only see a list of your NEF files after you click the button to convert them. -

No. DNG is a RAW format. There are a few small manufacturer specific items that are left out when converted to RAW (for example, Nikon's Active D lighting) that aren't maintained, as well as some Meta data and focus points, etc. Personally I never noticed the difference, but perhaps some do. There is no impact to the image quality, you have just as much post production freedom with DNG.
I did it for a couple years before upgrading to CS6. It's an extra step, but you get used to it and it's not a huge deal. I would put my card in my reader, and download to a temp file. While that downloaded I would go to the fridge and grab a beer [Edit - you can substitute the beverage of your choice ]. Then I would run the RAW to DNG converter, and drink my beer. It was usually done before my beer (if not I got another). I saved the CR2 files as a backup at first, but once I got comfortable trusting DNG I stopped doing that.
Another option is to get Lightroom and use that for your developing. You can then send over a TIFF file with the edits. But in this situation you couldn't send the image over as a smart object (I think, I assume this would use ACR?). -

DMVPN will not bring up dynamic tunnel unless using static routes
I have a hub and two spokes and each spoke is bringing up a tunnel to the hub and is routing normally. My problem is that if I try to route from spoke1 (10.30.1.1) to spoke2 (10.30.3.1) it will not bring up a new tunnel but instead will route through the hub.
If I put 'ip route 10.30.3.0 255.255.255.0 tunnel 0' on spoke1, it will then bring up the tunnel to spoke2. I know this is an EIGRP issue (my misconfiguration somewhere), can someone look at the configs and point me in the right direction?

Since my last software update, my iphoto 11 will not import any photos from any source. The circle just spins...when I go to force quit, it says iphoto not responding. Backed up iphoto library, uninstalled and reinstalled iphoto. Still not working. Help!
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Does anyone know what file this is and why it cannot find it? However, when switching to a new MacBook Pro, I observed what happened and found out the root of the problem.
When you tell iTunes to sync your iPod with your iPhoto Library, it creates a folder called "iPod Photo Cache" at >User>Pictures>iPhoto Library, which depending on the size of your iPhoto library, or how many pics you want to sync with iTunes, it can be huge! (1,600+ pics created a 1Gb+ folder).
The solution is obvious: just delete that folder and let these applications create a new one next time you instruct iTunes to sync your photos. To be sure, next time you open iTunes after you throw away that folder, uncheck the iPhoto option, close iTunes, make sure the folder is gone, and then, when you open iTunes again with your iPod connected, check it again having made sure that the pesky folder is not there and iTunes (or iPhoto, who knows) will create a fresh one.
By the way, iPod Photo Cache folders are created all over the place! Do a Spotlight search in your hard drive and you will be amazed about how many you will find!

Help please. Iphone was Backed up yesterday. But today's backup didn't finish. Now, I have a file (marked today) but it will not allow a restore from said file. And yesterday's is gone. What the hello do I do? IS there anyway to get my sms back post restore/update?
The problem is absolutely not Reader. The problem is that FireFox has stepped in front of Reader and handles all the PDF stuff - wrongly in your case. FireFox is DESIGNED to take over PDF files. But it is not capable of doing IRS forms!
To start with go back to IE for these forms. When you save them to disk DO NOT DOUBLE CLICK ON THEM until this is fixed. Just open the in the normal way - start Adobe Reader and use Open from the File menu. -

Something to chek, open a document, press CMMAND P, this will bring up the print screen, you can click on the arrow to expand the options
Then click on the presets and make sure that the preset you want is selected.
From the preset drop menu you can select Plain paper best or fast draft, which should then be color.

LR 5.6 on Mac desktop all of a sudden will not read any card from any reader but will work on my laptop. I can work on previous images but not import new ones. Even if I create a catalog on laptop and import to my desktop on a thumb drive, the images are only accessible as long as the thumb drive is inserted.
Sounds like you may need to repair the Disk Permissions on your drive where your images are stored.
