Will not charge. cannot use. tried home?

Can't use ipad

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

help me my ipod 4th generation will not charge. i have tryed a wall ataptor an other computers. What should i do? Should i get a new ipod or should i try and get a new charger and see if that helps. It has not been changing for two weeks straight now .Help Please.

Either your USB cable for the charger has been damaged or the part of the iPod where you insert the USB cable is damaged. This usually happens due to water damage or carelessly removing the USB plug off from the iPod. Hope this clears some doubts
You might also wanna try and check with the Genius Bar at Apple, they usually know whats wrong.

  • Ipod will not charge when using 30 pin to lighting connector

Have a victory vision with a 30 pin connecter bought the apple lightning coverter and when hooked to the bike it will not charge

    - Contact Bose/go to their support site to see if Bose says it will work. Also look for a firmware update for the Bose.
    - What model/iOS is on the old iPod that works. Sometimes an IOS update breaks compatibility
    - Sometimes this works:
    - Reset the Bose unit
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
BTW the the Lightning adopter does support audio if the dock supports it.

  • I have had my macbook pro for 3 days, and it will not charge.  I tried several differnt outlets, tried cleaning and wiggling the magnet charger, still nothing.  Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions?

You have 14 days from the date of purchase to return your MBP.  Personally, I would not waste my time "troubleshooting" if the normal solutions do not work.
Return the MBP for one that works before your 14 days are up and/or call AppleCare ASAP!!!
    Good luck!

  • IPod Touch will not charge or start- tried must of the ideas from other discussions

    Hi there,
I tried holding down the home button at the same time as the power button for several seconds/minutes and it will not respond.
I used my iPod touch 2 weeks a go. I did not used it since than and now it will not respond to anything. I tried plungung it to the computer and nothing.
I have an iPhone, iPad and 2 iPods so I know it is not the charger (I have tried all 4 of them).

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My iPhone 4 will not charge, have used different chargers, cables, and docks, also a hard reboot is not working, what do I do now?

Ok so I woke up this morning and found that my iPhone 4 was 2% and about to die even though I had left it on the charger over night. Also, you may want to know that the charging icon does appear over the battery, it just won't actually charge.  So I plugged it into my husbands charger which is an apple charger plugged into the wall. This had the same result. So we have some docking stations that simultaneously charge while they play your ipod, 3 different docking stations ended in the exact same result, a icon but no charge.
Next my husband did a hard reboot by holding down both the top button and the home button until the system turned off and rebooted. We tried charging after this will the exact same result. My phone has now died. Can someone please give me some idea of what to do next, just saying take it to the apple or AT&T store seems like the obvious answer, but are our options really so limited?
Also note that we have checked the bottom of the phone on the charging port and it is clean and to the eye unbroken.

yes, your option is as limited as getting it into the hands of an apple store employee (or if you have to ship it.. if there is not a store close by)
My wife's old 3G had this problem, it is a battery issue.  They replaced my wife's iphone within a day, but I'm not confident any amount of user troubleshooting will fix your problem

  • Ipad 2 will not charge and keeps trying to re-start

Ran the battery all the way down on the Ipad 2 and now it wont recharge.
I get the emptry charge Icon, the apply logo pops up, then I see my background for half a second and it goes to the pinapple loading black screen then the whole procees starts all over again. I've tried holding in every button combination possible but no help.

You can try plugging it in and leaving it alone for a few hours, see if you get enough charge to run the device. If that doesn't work and your device is still under its factory warranty, take it back and have Apple look at it. Because something could be internally wrong.

  • Just purchased an iPhone 6 and will not charge. Tried 3 different cables and different outlets.

today I purchased a new iPhone 6 and it will not charge. I tried 3 different charging cables and 2 separate outlets.
    Please help.

Replacement is the obvious fix, but you may want to take a quick peek inside your Lightning connector just to verify there's not some dust or other detritus causing inserted cables to fail to make proper contact.
Normally with a phone that isn't brand new this happens most often due to pocket lint.

  • I was updating my Ipad2 and when it was done it went to the apple logo and wont leave that screen it also will not charge

I was updating my Ipad2 and when it was done it went to the apple logo and wont leave that screen it also will not charge. Ive tried resetting and it turns off for a second then come right back to the Apple screen.

  • My iphone 5 will not charge and will also not be recognised when plugging into my computer

    I need help.
I have looked on loads of forums but I seem to have 2 problems merged into one.
The first one is that my phone will not charge, i have tried different USB ports, different plugs (the only thing i havent got round to yet is checking the actual cable). I have clean the phone where the cable goes.
Also when i plug it into the computer, it says the USB is not being recognised and it also doesnt charge my phone.
I didnt update the phone last week when i was notified by itunes - will it have something to do with this. I have the latest version of itunes.
    Help
    Rhys

    Hello rleighton,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with the battery on your iPhone 5.  You have taken some really good steps to troubleshoot this issue already.  I found an article with a few additional steps you can take.
I recommend the following steps for the issue you described (you can skip any of the steps you have already taken):
    Resolving issues
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
    Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue is persists, please contact Apple Support.

  • After downloading ISO8 my USB Ports on my IMAC arnt working and now my iPad2 will not charge?

after downloading ISO8 my USB Ports on my IMAC arnt working and now my iPad2 will not charge? even tried to use 240v charger? both my iMac and iPad have been updated, my mini iPad is working on old iso7 so that won't be updated in a hurry, any help would be great.

First is the most USB ports do not provide enough power to charge an iPad. Do not try and charge your iPad from such USB ports.
There is no 240v charger. There is one charger that will work with US voltages and European voltages. If your iPad is not charger with the charger, make certain that is an iPad charger, not an iPhone charger. If the charger does not work try swapping the cable as the cable may be bad. If that does not work try another charger. All simple steps that should be attempted before pinning the problem on IOS 8.

My iPhone 4S will not charge, I've tried different cords, how do you remove the back, and could it be the battery?

Battery does not charge from the USB power adapter
Important: Only original iPhone can be charged from a FireWire-based power source. If iPhone is connected to a computer that's turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the battery may drain.
Verify that the outlet being used is working.
Try another USB power adapter if available.
If no other USB power adapter is available, try connecting to a high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode.
Try another USB cable if available.
Also refer to iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery.
