Will not charge while being use

I have just noticed that my iPhone 3G will not charge when I have it plugged in and using it. With the phone plugged into the wall ac and using the telephone the battery will discharge down to red. This takes about two hour. Everything else I have electronic will switch to AC and trickle charge while being used. I also tried a hard reset that someone posted on the web and this did work one time, but now it is back to the same routine. With out the ac adapter the phone will not last long. What is going on?

The iPhone includes protection for the battery when charging. If the battery's heat exceeds a designated temperature when charging (charging alone increases the temperature of the battery), and depending on usage during that time which also increases the iPhone's internal temperature, charging will stop until the temperature is reduced.

New MacBook Pro Will Not Charge While in Use

I'm not sure if this is an issue, however, I have been unable to find more information regarding this, so I thought I'd ask. While plugged in (MagSafe LED=Orange) the computer hovers around the same percentage of charge (i.e. +/-2%), even with very low to no use, and every once in a while says (Not Charging). However, when in sleep with the deck shut, it charges promptly as it should.
I've occasionally seen it charge slightly while in use while using the plug without the extension portion, however I am unsure if this is related. I have tried resetting the SMC, restart, etc. So my question simply is, is this an issue, or is the computer specified not to charge while open?

As eww indicated, it may be a fault with the charger. The reason for my question was because you can use the 60 watt charger that comes with the 13" model on the 15" model (which comes with an 85 watt charger), but... it will only provide enough power to operate the 15" model while in use... it does not provide enough power to both operate the machine while charging it. It will only charge with the machine shut down. Your symptoms sounded very similar... but as you're using the correct charge, it may just be a bum charger. These types of things tend to fail early on if they're going to fail at all. With it only being a few weeks old, that would also seem to make it more likely to be a faulty charger. Apple tends to be very good with these things. If you have an Apple store nearby, set up a Genius appointment online. There's a good chance they'll just replace the charger for you. It's a good to bring it in though so they can check it out for you just in case the problem is with the charging circuitry in your Mac and not the charger.

Battery charges when asleep but will NOT charge while awake

By battery will charge when off/asleep but will not charge while awake. It just slowly drains to nothing and dies even though adapter is plugged in. magsafe adapter light is green when open/on and orange when off/asleep and lights on battery indicate charging while in the latter state. still using stock battery that came with computer when I got it a few years ago, so it's not new by any means, but when fully charged lasts as long as it used to. I would think maybe charger is issue, but it DOES charge, just not while awake. not sure why computer wouldn't still work correctly while plugged in if in battery indicator it says power source is "power adapter," but its not. I have tried resetting PMU and calibrating battery. the combo of the two seemed to work when having issue a few months ago, but it just started doing it again. frustrating because once it dies I have to wait several hours until its fully charged again, so it cramps the workflow... any ideas? battery info from profiler below.

Ruled out battery (as crazy as that sounds - it's had a bajillion cycles) as it didn't make sense that battery would charge but wouldn't work while awake. I have a friend whose battery is completely shot and his still works as long as magsafe is plugged in, and mine wouldn't even do that. tried another adapter and that worked. then tried mine in a different plug. so in the end, turns out I had a bum powerstrip... mag safe / battery recharge works properly when just plugged in somewhere different.
So no need to buy a new charger or battery (yet!)

Once I did the update it will not charge as quickly as it used to I mean like could be on the charger all day and not reach 100% and my friend has an iPhone 5 and she had the same problem the charger isn't broken and nothing is wrong with with place on the device for the charger she had to end up getting a new charger but I'm not buying a new charger when this was not my fault

My ipod touch will not charge when I use the FM transmitter.

I have a FM ransmitter that will play music when I attach my 3rd generation ipod touch but it will not charge it. But I receive an error message that my ipod doesn't support this device. I use an adapter but it doesn't work. I've used this adapter in the past with other FM transmitters and it would charge my ipod. Thank you.

I have the same problem, my ipod connects to various wifi networs supplying internet to other devices but I cannot use safari... pages connect/ download endlessly. However Map app works fine. Wifi signals strong.

Have you done a reset, hold down both Home and Sleep/Wake buttons and wait for Apple logo to appear. Then wait for phone to reboot itself.

T400 will not charge while hibernating/sleeping

I've had my T400 for about a month now, and I simply cannot get it to charge while hibernating or sleeping. If the system is powered off or on, it charges just fine. I am using Vista x64 SP2 and have not noticed any other power related issues. Does anyone have any thoughts as to what might be causing this behavior? Thanks in advance.

I just want to preemptively state that the problem is not the battery thresholds. After all, at the same battery levels, the system charges just fine when completely shut down or powered on. Plus, right now the threshold is set to start charging below 75%, but even when my battery is under 10% it won't charge while the computer is sleeping/hibernating.

Will not charge when in use...

My macbook is less than a year old, and has a brand new battery but will still not charge when it is in use. It only charges when it is closed or shut down. Since the battery is new I dont think that is the problem, and I have had my charger checked and that seems to be working properly. I figured it out. I took the battery out and put it back in. Ding Ding Ding That worked, now it is charging. How in the world did it work off the battery if it was not plugged in tight enough to charge??? Oh well, it works again. Thanks

Macbook pro 15'' 2011 will not charge while playing games under win7 64

During the game (under high load ex. crysis2), the charging LED changes from orange to green and the computer does not charge,
even the battery drains slowly. If battery charge is 100%, in about 50 minutes after the start of the game, the battery charge drops to 94% and
when I quit the game the charging LED changes from green to orange... What's the deal? (Sorry for my english, i'm italian ).

I've just bought a 17" MBP and I'm having the same issue, but in OSX and Linux just the same. In one incident, my battery was running low so I plugged it in, but it still died about 10 minutes later because it continued to draw more power than the Magsafe plug could provide. Needless to say, there was quite a bit of filesystem corruption from the sudden power loss. That this is a common issue to 2011 MBPs does not magically make it "acceptable", especially when the fix consists of providing a more powerful charger.
For a $2500 laptop this is absolutely ridiculous. If the thing draws 100w under peak usage, make a damned charger that provides 120w. In the worst case, it will keep the computer running without unduly stressing the battery. In the best case, it will charge the battery much faster.

Lenovo ThinkPad X220 will not charge when in use

I have a quesiton I have not found an answer to.
Will the X220 charge the battery, when plugged into the 90W charger (42T4430), if the computer is in use? I used my computer on battery for a few hours, drained the battery to 30%. Then I went inside to plug it in and keep working. After 4 hours of working, and it plugged in to the wall the battery still indicates 30%.
The same thing happened when I was using my docking station. I arrived at work yesterday with 76% battery. After 8 hours on the docking station, I still indicated 76% battery life.
My previous (other major name brand) laptops all would charge even if I was working on the laptop. Is the X220 different by design? Do I have to shut down and plug in to recharge?

I need help. With my new iPad 2 my windows 8 computer won't recognize my iPad being plugged in. My battery also states not charging while being recognized by iTunes. How can I get my computer to recognize my iPad so I can place files on it?

You should be able to get into the setup of your router by typing the IP address into your browser.
Depending on your router security setup, you might need the MAC address of your iPad, to allow access to your network, if the so called MAC filtering is active.
You can also check the name of your home network if your click on the AirPort icon on your desktop of your MacBook.

IPhone Not Charging While On A Call

My iPhone 3G (currently running 3.0) refuses to properly charge while I am on a call. I used to be able to talk and charge at the same time, but lately, it shows the 'charging' symbol for a while and then just switches to 'connected'. The first time it did this, I realized too late and was left with a long and boring commute to work.
I am quite sure it has nothing to do with the update to 3.0, because it started doing this a day or two before I made the upgrade.
I usually connect to my laptop when charging, but I also tried connecting via the wall charger, which resulted in the same problem. I don't think it's a problem with the cord I use; I tried it with my Dad's too and it does the same thing.
The moment I hang up, though, I am able to charge my phone with no interruptions. It continuously shows the charging symbol without randomly switching to just connected.
I have a habit of making long, long phone calls and I like to have a fully charged phone when I leave for work or whatever. Does anyone know what the problem is/might/could be and/or how I could fix it?

I've noticed that while I'm streaming content on the 3G network my phone will not charge either.. Even while connected to my laptop it will not charge while streaming. I believe this may have to do with the 3G bandwidth.. Try making your calls while 3G is turned off.. I think it will charge simultaneously and I'm curious to know if this will make a difference.

Beacause the USB port of most computers don't supply sufficient current to properly charge it. It is best to charge it using the supplied power supply.

So I have tried everything, plugging into 3 different chargers, into the wall and pc. Two different USB ports on the pc. And yet nothing. I have done all the hold down the top and home button for 10 seconds then also a minute and yet still nothing. It was was working fine charging and every thing and I unplugged it walked out of my room for about 5-10 mins go to plug it back up and nothing. I have been searching for over a hour looking for solution's. What is really crazy about it it that if I turn it off then plug into my pc the apple logo will pop up and it will come on and it seems to have charged some. But it still will not charge while on or be recognized by my pc or Itunes. I know it can't be any of the prongs on the charger port bent because it would not charge while off. Someone please help!!
