Will not load websites such as youtube, hotmail correctly - all text

Hello!
Just starting yesterday, my firefox wont load certain websites properly. Hotmail.com, Youtube.com, Netflix.com - they're all coming through only with text along the left hand side - like the entire website is missing expect for the text, which has been crushed against the left side of the screen. Updating my plugings has not solved this problem

Try un-installing and then re-installing. Sometimes uninstalling first helps.

Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. If that doesn't work, Safari/Reset Safari.

It should be: Click on Home Folder (the House) and to the right Library is shown, click on the arrow on the Library folder to reveal its contents and then click on Cookies to reveal its contents and then move the Cookies.plist to the Trash as Carolyn suggests.
Then try eBay again.

In the last couple of days when I start Firefox it will not properly load the Google home page I set up. It will not load the calendar or Date and Time. When I try to open gmail it will not open. I use Internet mail using outlook lite and it does not open properly formatted. All of these problems did not exist until two days ago. I have even gone back and did a system restore 8 days ago to see if that would correct the problem.

Will not Load WebSites after Upgrade today. Most of the plugins errored & were deemed incompatible with the new update.

I downloaded & reinstalled Firefox but this didn't fix the problem.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Ringtone will not load as such in iTunes

Help please! I have created a ringtone .m4r file, double clicked on it and opened it that way in itunes. However it will not, no matter what I try, load as a ringtone rather it sits in the music section. Looking at the files details, it clearly states that is Kind is a ringtone. I want to sync this file to my iPhone to use it for obvious reasons.

Try shutting down the iMac and disconnecting all USB devices, including any hub. Start up with only standard USB mouse/keyboard connected (if normally used). Do this to reset the shuffle

Run iTunes. Connect shuffle to a direct USB port on iMac. This is checking if there may be some interference with other USB devices.
If that does not help, since this is a 2nd gen shuffle (also for 1st gen), there is a special reset utility.

You can download it to see if it will recognize the shuffle, and "reset" it (similar result to doing a Restore in iTunes).
If that does not help (the utility does not see it either), there may be a hardware problem with the connection. The USB port (on iMac) is probably fine (you can connect something else to the same port to confirm). The cable with dock could be the problem. And the connection on the shuffle (the multi-purpose headphones jack) could be the problem.

Firefox will not load thumbnails on the youtube website

I've cleared my caches and everything, but whenever I'm on youtube the thumbnails won't load. the actual videos run ok, but you only see white where the thumbnail should be.

FireFox will not load google, facebook or youtube

I am having this issue on my iMac and my MacBook Pro
'I have followed all the trouble shooting suggestions online - they do not work.
FireFox is having serious issues trying to connect to any Google site, FaceBook and YouTube?
Occasionally I see issues when trying to connect to a site that is using some kind of Google JS as well.
The site either tries to load and hangs - or just does noting?
I get a lot of "Waiting for ...." in the lower left corner.
This is specific to FireFox because Safari has absolutely no issues.
This has been an issue for over a week or so now and has totally shut me down form using FireFox!
By the way - while trying to load the Troubleshooting Information for this ticket - I get the same issue - but this time - it's actually tells me "Can't connect to server"?

I am unable to properly view a number of, but not all, web pages/sites.
I have tried all the recommendations I have found thus far; however, nothing resolved the issue.
I have tried: clearing catch, clearing cookies. Checked ‘’load images automatically’’. Enabled JavaScrip. Adblock is disabled. Flashblock is disabled. Everything I have is up-to-date.
Examples of, but not limited to, sites unable to view properly are: Firefox Support, MSN, Flicker, Outlook email, Yahoo.
They work fine using Explorer.
Further detail/explanation of images not showing where a image/picture should be: What I see is an opaque thin red box and in that box is a small opaque red flag.
THIS IS MOST PERPLEXING!!!

Try, as cor-el said, the extensions one by one, disable one, then enable it if the problem is not there, and disable the next extension.

Safari will not load websites

I have a 16GB iPhone 3GS and last night it stopped loading pages. I've searched through these archives but couldn't find an official solution from Apple, which is highly disappointing. Has anyone else had this happen, and if so, how did you resolve it?
I've tried emptying the cache, history, and cookies, and rebooting the phone, but nothing works. The application loads just fine, I just can't surf the web on it. Please help if you can!

Are you sure you have a data connection? Can other apps access the internet, i.e. weather, mail, news, app store, etc?

Hi Diana, do you see any notification icons in the address bar to the left of the address? Those may indicate security or plugin issues. If you see anything there, click on them for more information.
You also could try the site in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled ''(Flash, Java, other plugins still run)''

Firefox will not load Java in Linux - even after following all instructions on net I can find - what am I doing wrong??

The problem I've got is I'm currently running Puppy Linux on my laptop.
Now I've tried everything I can to get Java working under either Firefox, Chromium or Seamonkey (I have all three browsers on my computer).
For firefox and seamonkey I have tried the following -
downloaded the tar.gz file for java
unpacked it to /opt/java
gone to /user/lib/mozilla/plugins and run the command
ln -s /opt/java/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so
to create the symbolic link to the plugin
checked that the plugin is executable (actually even tried giving everything full permission to read/write and execute it)
For Chromium done a similar thing but put the symbolic link in /usr/lib/chrome-linux/plugins folder instead.
Restarted the web browser, even tried restarting X Server in case the browser is running somewhere in the background.
All three browsers can pick up all the other .so plugins in that folder except Java.
When I click check plugins on firefox I get to the page about "Missing Java? - For your safety Firefox has disabled your outdated version of Java. Please upgrade to the latest version".
However the version I've downloaded is Version 7 Update 9 which is exactly the same one that is available as the latest version from Java themselves (it was only downloaded from that link a couple of minutes before, I've even tried re-downloading it just in case there has been an update within those 5 minutes).
If I go into the Java folder and run ControlPanel the Java control panel pops up and it knows where Java is installed and everything.
So what on earth is going on? Am I installing the plugin in the right directory? I'm guessing so as that is where all the other plugins are stored and Firefox, Chrome and Seamonkey are picking all the others up fine, or could there be an older version of Java lurking around somewhere on my system that Firefox, Seamonkey and Chrome are all trying to use?
I've also tried downloading the RPM and installing that into the /usr/java folder and replacing the symlink from /opt/java to the one in the /usr/java folder and still nothing.
I just really can't understand it 'cos it's picking up all the other plugins like Gecko and even installed Flash in the same way and that works fine.

Thanks cor-el looks like Oracle need to update their linux installation instructions then. If only I'd have known that before doing all sorts to get it working.

If the video is in flash, then the iPad can't play it natively. You need to use different browser apps to access flash content. I see Puffin, iSwiffer recommended a lot.
You may also want to see if BBC has an app. things sometimes work better through an app than they do just through safari

My Safari will not load any secure website

Hello Everyone,
Recently my Safari will not load any secure webpage that I try to connect to, i.e.: Google, Gmail, YouTube, PayPal, but Safari will load insecure webpages that I have either bookmarked or that I manually type in their URL. Everytime I try and load one of these secure webpages like Google, i get the error "Safari can't establish a secure connection to the server www.google.com." I have searched through these threads and have tried a few of the remedies suggested, all to no avail. I've reset Safari, I've deleated all plug-ins, I've cleared cashes and history, I've removed all cookies and internet data, I've changed my Mac's dns to Google's 8.8.8.8 // 8.8.4.4, and still no fix. The problem even persists in safemode. Even the webpages I can load take forever to load. Just getting to this forum took nearly 3 hours as every page loaded took roughly 10-15 minutes. I am at a loss as to what could be causing this and how to fix it.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

You may have more than one issue, but the most important one is that your internal hard drive is failing, or there is some other hardware fault.
Back up all data on the drive immediately if you don't already have a current backup. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional—ask if you need guidance.
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.

Apple also recommends that you deauthorize a device in the iTunes Store before having it serviced.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

A specific set of websites will not load.

Operating a Time Capsule behind a cable modem, I now find a very specific set of websites (those that I manage) will not load. We had a power outage yesterday which did something to my home network I think.
I have rebooted modem and Time Capsule a number of times. I have tried access from 2 mac mini's, one iPad and one iPhone.
IF I direct connect a mac mini to the modem with a cable, I can access the sites. If I leave the house and work on another wireless network, I can access the sites. I checked the sites from that network -- they are NOT blocking any IP's.
If I try to access the sites through the Time Capsule, I cannot.
I think I just (inadvertently) did a full reset of the Time Capsule -- I had to re-define my network. (Although it seemed to remember some things ... )
SO, I have concluded there is something with the Time Capsule and likely DNS that is preventing my access. I tried simply changing DNS to public DNS servers (like Google) but that did nothing.
Best thoughts on how to overcome this?

Your best bet may be to purposely reset your TC to factory defaults and then set it up again.
One thing to try from within your home LAN to see if DNS or connectivity is a problem is to simply open a terminal and "ping" the IP address of your webserver. If you can ping the webserver by IP then you are able to reach it on the Internet. Then try to ping the webserver by fully qualified server and domain name (i.e. www.example.com). If ping resolves the name to the IP of your web server then you are fine with DNS as well. If either of those basic tests fail to resolve the server and receive a reply, then you indeed have some other issue with your TC or internal network.

Version 3.6.6 and Internet explorer will not load sites, so I reloaded the older 3.6.3 of firefox and websites load fine. Internet Explorer still will not load. The error message corresponding with 3.6.6 was that there were problems with the proxy serve

Upgraded to 3.6.6 and no sites loaded, error in proxy server. Internet explorer will not load either. Reloaded firefox 3.6.3 and sites load fine, but internet explorer still will not load. I was only able to connect to yahoo messenger when websites were not loading.
