Will Not Open To Most Recently Used Folder
I figured out how to save in the same file, but PS still opens some default folder beginning with "THIS PC", instead of the most recently used folder. It should open to the most recently used folder. How do I set that?

Of course, you could always make an Apple Script as an app (that you could place next to the finder icon on the dock for ex) that would do it, but that would require programming skills.

Itunes is running but will not open after most recent 9.1 update w/Bonjour
I recently loaded the most recent update for Itunes 9.1 version on 3/31. Since then, I have not been able to open my Itunes. I think it might be related to Bonjour because I see that it was added during my most recent update and I have never had it on my computer before. Now, i cannot get back into Itunes. I installed the update but when I double click on the itunes icon to open the file - I get nothing. The screen never shows up. Yet when I go to the task bar it says itunes is running in the background but there is no evidence of this. Help - I have been installing and reinstalling for the past couple of days with no luck.
I have three computers that are practicably clones of each other and the new itunes update failed on two of them but one worrked fine. Here is fix that worked for me. This fix was suggested by another member but I cannot recall or find his post. My system is WinXP sp3 with all the latest patches.
1. Download AirPort Utility 5.5.1 for Windows http://support.apple.com/downloads/
2. Open task Manager and stop the mdnsresponder process. The corrupted mdnsresponder will be using 50% of your cpu.
3. Open control panel / add remove programs. Find the bonjour app and click on it.
4. Note the corrupted version of bonjour 2.0.0.34 by clicking on the support link.
5. Uninstall bonjour
6. Restart Windows.
7. Install the AirPort Utility. This will install a good working version of mdnsresponder. Restart windows again.
8. Upon restart you will see a new the airport icon in your task tray. You can also find mdnsresponder.exe running under process in task manger with little or no cpu usage. Your bonjour app under add remove panel will now be version 1.0.106 -
Can I make the finder open my most recently used folder when opening a new window?

When I open a new finder window I would like it to open the folder I worked in last (i.e. the one I saved sth to or opened sth from). I know I can go over "Go to" but is there a way to adjust the settings so that it opens automatically?

My Pages App will not open after I recently updated it. I'm afraid to lose all my docs if I delete the App and re-install.
First of all - you are running the proper iOS in order to use the latest version of Pages - correct? You need iOS 6 now.
If so ....See if this helps. Maybe Pages will open after you try this.
Quit the Pages app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Or ..... Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If that didn't help backup and send your files into iTunes with file sharing.
You could lose all of your files if you delete and reinstall the app. That is precisely why you should backup your iPad and send your files into iTunes using files sharing on the iPad. Do you backup or use file sharing?

1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

Recently we are testing office 2013 and have noticed a problem. When office attempts to open an Excel or Word document that is stored on a shared drive on the file server it will not open it. When you double click on the document, either word or
Excel, the appropriate Office app opens, but it opens on the start screen, i.e. the one with the templates displayed.
There are no error messages displayed , and it appears that the office app opens twice, i.e you see the splash screen with the app name on it two times in quick succession, however you cannot find two instances of the app open.
If you simply copy the document from the shared drive to the users desktop and then double click the file , the appropriate app opens and the file also opens without a problem.
Also if you go to a client machine with office 2007 loaded on it then the document on the shared drive opens without a problem at all.
The client machine with office 2013 is a Dell E7440 with windows 7 Pro 64bit.

Here is what I had to do.
Delete Office from the machine once again, this time using the Microsoft tool to remove all remnants of the office software , then manually check the registry to see all the referenced keys had been removed.
Reboot.
Copy all the users data to another location on the same machine.
Delete the users profile.
Reboot.
Reload office using the link Dell sent me.
Reboot.
Log in as a domain admin and check that office would open the documents on the file share and it did.
Reboot.
Log in as the user who’s profile I had deleted so that the profile was recreated.
Attempt to open documents on the file share and it was successful.
Move most of the users data back to the users folder so that his system looked the same as before.
Reboot.
Try again to use office applications and open documents from the file share and it continued to function correctly.
Waited a day for the user to see how it went and it is still working now.
I have no idea what could have been causing this problem or why doing what I did above fixed it.
I hope the problem does not return.
Now we can move on with more testing to see its suitability to our field service engineers, remote connections and connections to our customer systems will be checked next. -

Suppose I have 5 excel sheets open and I want to toggle between 2 excel sheets on which i'm working on currently. How do it do it in Mac ? Cmd-~ round robins between all the open excels. Alt-Tab in windows work on the Most Recently Used concept. Is there a way to achieve this in Mac ?

In Leopard, and with (for example) English and Russian chosen in System Prefs under "Language" and the keyboard shortcut set to command+space, I would always see the flag change in the menu bar as soon as command+space were chosen. Now, under Snow Leopard, hitting command+space seems not to make the change. But it does make the change, you just need to take your fingers off the keys first, then the flag will change. -
Excel 10.1.9 will not open files in Leopard public folder
My Excel files are in a public folder of iMac A (Leopard 10.5.1). When I try to open an Excel document from iMac B (Leopard 10.5.1 or Tiger 10.4.11) Excel starts and let me know "Document was not found". I can open all the other files on the public folder (PDFs, DOCs etc.) - only XLS will not open. With Tiger it worked since years. If I copy the file to the desktop, I can open the file, I can save it and drop it back to the public folder ... but that's no solution for me.
I am able to open PDF in IE9 on win 7 64 bit machine using Reader 10.1
Additionally,as per system requirements mentioned in Reader 10.1 download page (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5138),Reader 10.1 is compatible with IE9.

Itunes 10.4.1 will not open. I am using Lion.
I am using Lion and Itunes 10.4.1 will not open. It goes into an ongoing loop that only allows a force quit. I repaired permissions but it didn't help. The only way to upgrade my OS for ipod is through Itunes on the computer!
It looks like the iPhoto window but stays on a blank white screen with the spinning ball. I have to force quit to stop it.

Adobe Suite will not run with most recent Java after I have installed Yosemite
I have updated to Yosemite for my Mac, when trying to open Adobe Photoshop it prompted me to install Java 6, which I installed, then Java said to update to 8, which I did. My photoshop and other adobe suite programs still will not open (except Bridge) and keeps coming up with the error message to open the webpage to download DL1572.
This is a strange error. I had the same problem but my CC is running.
Which is your version of Photoshop please?

This is driving me mad... I have re-booted my computer, restarted the programme and it will not open. This was not an issue with 5.6, so am wondering if the installation of the update did not complete properly? any suggestions or solutions folks?
Develop Module > left side panel > Presets > User Presets. Right-click and select Import. Navigate to presets (*.lrtemplate files) and click Open.

Firefox will not open. I have used it for two years.
For 2 years, until yesterday, Firefox worked well. I opened it, using the "Internet" button on the keyboard, or from the start menu. Now, nothing responds. Yesterday, when Mozilla was running, the top part of the screen display disappeared. The "search" message filled the whole screen. Created a form in LS but it will only open in most recent version of Acrobat Reader
I've tried opening the PDF form created in LiveCycle into my full professional version of Acrobat and then saving as an optimized version but I get this error....
"This PDF document contains an Adobe XML form. Such files cannot be optimized."
There has to be a work around for this. I can't send the form to my client (who paid me to create it) - if he can't even open it up. He also can't use it for his clients if they are all expected to upgrade their version of acrobat.
Please help!!I was just going to point you there. I would set it to 8.1, that's what we do with all our forms. Check what version your client is using.
At some point people do need to upgrade and the software is free. Version 8 is quite old now. And there were a lot of changes between version 6 and 8.
Check the Warnings log (Window > Report) to make sure things are compatible, it will tell you if you've used features that won't work with your target version. -
