Will not remember my password or e mail even though I click remember when it comes up
When I log on to web sites Firefox will not remember my e mail and password even though I click on the remember box when it appears

Do you see the saved names and passwords in the Password Manager?
Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"
Or doesn't anything happen if you click the Remember button?

I have updated my iOS and now my hotmail will not verify my password through apple mail app. I have reset password - tried new password and old password and it still gives me password incorrect. Hotmail works fine on Mac. Has anyone had this difficulty and been able to resolve it?
Did you try deleting the mail account, then adding it back? I've read a lot of times that is what needs to happen in order for it to work properly.

My IMAC will not allow me to load a DVD, even though the disc drive is empty. Any ideas as to what I should do to resolve the problem

RogerSounds like you have a newer iMac than this forum covers. The newer ones have a bar or "fence" that, on detecting the drive has failed. moves the bar to block the slot so no media can be inserted (to avoid damage or loss of a disk).

You're on Mac (thanks for providing that detail): are you getting a "could not be read" message? If you are, it's a write permissions issue with the destination. Change the permission, and all should be well. -
Safari will not prevent search engine from providing suggestions, even though that block is checked in Privacy preferences.
I also seem to have having this problem, despite having checked the "prevent" option in Preferences. Typing words into the Safari search bar (NOT the Google search bar on one of Google's search pages) leads to suggestions being made:

i have a macbook pro (almost positive that its a 2010 version) and i got mountain lion. The BIGGEST AND MAIN REASON i bought mountain lion was so that i can do airplay, allowing me to mirror image what is on my mac to my Apple TV. my whole computer is updated as far as the displays and newer features but the small airplay icon will not show up on the top of my screen. therefore, not allowing me to mirror image what is on my mac to my tv... it is connected to the same wifi as my apple tv. idk what to do. could it be because my macbook pro is a 2010? desprately looking for help...please help me with this issue

i recently downloaded two tracks from itunes and they will not play in my windows media center. i have never had this problem but the two tracks play on my PC just not in the windows media center and usually all my itunes music plays in there no problem??? any idea what to do? thanks

The files that I'm trying to burn come from eMusic, and they are formatted mp3. Recently, (after the iTunes update to 9.2.3?,) they would not drag and drop from iTunes into Toast. From several different discussions I've tried working around this by dragging to the desktop first then dragging and dropping to Toast, going to Toast from a programmer's homemade help window, " iToons," and today, after talking with Apple support, going directly to Toast from my eMusic folder. Alas, all recordings do not perform like they use to. Sometimes they play and sometimes not. There is one I managed, that is listenable, but sometimes I have to put it in my car stereo over and over again as it gets ejected with an error code, sometimes, finally it takes it... Some of the recordings on other disks I've burned are not clean - they have white-noise sounds creeping in... I use to have none of these problems. One time as I was listening to a CD that managed to play, and it just stopped playing... Is there an answer out there to get back to how it use to be? Thanks for you help. -

from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return. A folder should open. If it does, move the contents to the Desktop, leaving the folder open. Relaunch the application and test. If the problem isn't solved, quit the application again and put back the items you moved, overwriting any that may have been created in their place. Post your results.
Otherwise, delete the items you moved to the Desktop and close the folder. -
Time Machine will not backup to my external Hard Drive even though it works on another Mac
I have a WD My Book Studio Edition II that backs up perfectly fine on my iMac 2008 ,but when it comes to my Mac Pro 2001 it just comes up with a "Calculating size..." Message that goes on forever.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter the word "Starting" (without the quotes) in the String Matching text field. You should now see log messages with the words "Starting * backup," where * represents any of the words "automatic," "manual," or "standard." Note the timestamp of the last such message. Clear the text field and scroll back in the log to that time. Select the messages timestamped from then until the end of the backup, or the end of the log if that's not clear. Copy them (command-C) to the Clipboard. Paste (command-V) into a reply to this message.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don't post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

I am having trouble activating the icloud on a friend's device. When I go to settings, it tells me it cannot verify the email even though the Apple ID and password are correct... Help!
Try signing out of the ID, restart the iPad, sign in again and then try again.
Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID>Tap the ID and sign out.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. -
My iphone will not recognise my subscription to itunes match even though I have paid for it
Why does my iphone refuse to accept my subscription for itunes match even though my account shows that i have paid for it.
My passwords are the same on both systems and my music is waiting in the cloud but still no go ....can anyone help before I fire the whole lot out of a cannon.iTunes Match is associated with a single iTunes Store account. So make sure you're logging into the mobile store on the iOS device using the same account you used to purchse the service.

Icloud will not let me change my apple ID, even though the ID is changed.
I changed my Apple ID and now my icloud won't let me change the ID under my settings...it just keeps saying "wrong Apple ID or password." Super frustrating.
Go to system preferences, icloud
Log out - It will ask you to delete the calendars appts etc.... (do not worry, once you change your id everything syncs back up) just click delete, you will see 2 more similar windows pop up, just delete. When you are finished, click on the icloud icon again and put in your new ID. It will ask what you want to sync and your done. -
This has now been ongoing for over a month - the lastest software release hasn't fixed it.
I can import music from CDs - the tracks are ticked for synching and all the associated rigmarole is correct.
Problem is when I synch, apps go across but imported music doesn't. It just gets to step 5 - waiting for changes to be applied - and then does nothing until it eventually finishes synching but no music has come across.
Same issue on my iphone.
I have looked at some solutions on forums but they seem complicated and I don't understand why apple haven't yet fixed this (or why you can't contact them). Seems a basic fundamental service that they are not supplying.
Having spoken to people in the family, its seems I'm not laone with this problem (unless you have a mac......)I had this same problem with my new MBP 15", but only with the USB port on the left side. The USB port on the right side worked fine. Perhaps the ports on the left don't have enough signal energy for the iPhone.
Anyway, try using a different USB port, and if that doesn't work, perhaps you could try a powered USB hub. -
I have tried everything Mozilla has suggested. Still when I click on a pdf, I get the message that the browser cannot open a pdf. I have gone through the help protocol, and it does not work.
I have uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it, and still not able to open pdf files within the browser.
What else do I do, except go to IE or Chrome and just leave Firefox completely???A possible cause is the presence of a PDF plugin from an older Adobe Reader plugin in the plugins folder in the Firefox program folder.

I have purchased a few movies in iTunes on the MacBook Pro and after dowloading, I am not able to sync them to my new iPad. I look at the contents of the download and I have an HD file and an SD file, I assumed it would sync the SD file automatically if it cannot handle the HD on the device (although it should be able to).
What are the different reasons a movie won't sync to iPad (frame rate, file size, definition, etc.) and what are the options to make these files compatable with my iPad? Can I rip them again or run them through a conversion utility? Is there a setting in iTunes somewhere I am missing?
Is there a post somewhere thatr already covers this? If so, I can't find it. Would be great to have a baseline of what can be handled by device so I can figure out how to make my media compatable.the spcs page on this site state which video formats the ipad supports
I'd suggest converting your old videos to one of those formats
handbrake is a free program which does this for you
itunes used to be able to too when I right clicked incompatible media but don't see the option any more
or maybe it only show when one right click incompatible media and currently my lib don't have any
about the music then it's odd what formats are they?
if they are acc protected have you tried to remove the DRM this can be don using itunes as
apple don't use DRM for music any more

My Adobe Acrobat plug in is missing from the Addon list. I use Acrobat 9.0 Standard version.
I have reinstalled or repair Acrobat. This problem shows up in Beta 12, 13 and RC1. Beta 10 was OK. Also note that when I click on tools then Options then Applications - Acrobat is not there also.
