Will not show on iTunes, unable to load more tunes!

Without showing on iTunes I can not change my music / podcasts / etc.   I've reset, adjusted and completed all of the suggestions given on the web-site.  What to do??

  • On an iPod Nano 2G, the iPod will not show in iTunes

Using an iPod Nano 2 G, when I plug it into a Mac, the iPod will not show in iTunes. The iPod will charge, but will not sync. This happens across multiple Mac's, so the issue seems to be the Nano, not the computer(s). The iPod will actually show for about 2 seconds in the left sidebar, then it disappears. Any suggestions about how to either fix this, or maybe how to restore the iPod's software. The iPod otherwise seems to be working correctly, i.e. will play music, etc. we have tried switching ports, cables and computers, same results.

    Did you do everything here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    Including
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
    or
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
Do other USB devices work on the computer/USB port??

    If yu tried everthing here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    Then try another cable
Then another computer to help determine if youhave a computer or iPod problem.
If iPod problem than an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Iphone will not show in itunes on windows 8

I installed windows 8 operating system and itunes works, however, my iphone will not appear in itunes. How do we fix this?

iTunes does not yet support Windows 8, so there may not be a fix until such time as Apple releases a version of iTunes that does support 8. You can search this forum for "windows 8", though, and perhaps you'll find a suggestion in one of the other threads on the issue.
    Regards.

When I connect the iPhone to iTunes the device does not show. So now I can't sync my phone to iTunes. Can anybody help with this please?

Version 11.1.5.5 of iTunes was just released today. If you update to that, does that help with the recognition troubles?

  • Lost tunes, recovered but will not show in iTunes

I purchased my first iPod from another person, and it was loaded with songs. I did what it seems all other newbies did and hooked it up to the computer and lost every song. I found a great recovery program called Handy Recover and retrieved 950 files. Now when I tried to add all the files to the playlist, it only will show 185 of the files, and will only download 35 songs to the iPod. I can see all of the .mp4 files and it is taking up 3.3Gb on my hard drive. The icon of the file has a little lock in the upper left corner and the properties say that it is protected. Also, most of the files on iTunes will not play unless the computer is authorized with the former iPod owners e-mail and password. Is there anyway to fix this? I did create my own account with iTunes, but that still didn't allow me to play the songs. Any help would be great!

  • New ipod will not show in itunes.

my computer isn't very happy at the moment. it randomly unexpectedly quits when i am using photoshop or quark, or really anything. it could happen right now... it hasn't been happy since it was crashed by my friend. he reinstalled everything, but it is still being touchy. i am taking it in for healing when my mac pro arrives via the mail. well... i got a brand new ipod nano and it won't show up in itunes. i tried all the updates. nothing works. i do not have a USB 2.0, i have the card reader thing. it doesn't work anywhere. it is probably my computer, but the ipod shows up on the desktop. why won't it show in itunes?

I believe it is a Windows setting issue. Try this:
    Go to Control Panel
    Choose Display
    Choose Settings Tab
Change Screen Resolution should be at least 1024 by 768 pixels.
    Accept the change.
Then you will see the CONTINUE button.
Please let me know if this solved your problem!

  • IPod touch 3rd Gen. will not show up iTunes or My Computer

I have reinstalled iTunes, I have tried recovory mode, I have the latest model, I've tried using other USB ports, I've done just about anything I can. I have had this iPod for like 3 years and have never had an issue. Now all the sudden it will not connect to the computer or show up in itunes. It does charge in a wall charger though. How do i fix this?

    Hi
I have posted just recently with a similar problem [although I suspect you are using Windows rather than OSX by your reference to device manager].
In my post I asked if iTunes 10 supports the 2nd gen nano as I am starting to suspect that it doesn't. Have you recently upgraded to 10?

  • IPhone 5s will not show in Itunes 11.3 after update

    Hi Folks,
Updated iTunes to 11.3.0.54 and restarted my machine (running win 8.1).  Now when I dock the IPhone (5s running 7.1.2) it shows the 'Trust' prompt and when accepted, sounds a tone, then does nothing.  ITunes does not show any phone connected - no errors are listed in the Windows Event log.
Done all the usual things, restarted both devices, unplugged etc. but still the same issue.
Anyone have a fix for this?

Thanks TwoSeven- I had exactly the same problem with my 5S and your solutions has fixed it.  It is however appalling that we should have to suffer these problems and waste so much time and effort trying t resolve them after a relatively minor update of iTunes.

  • IPhone detected as a"digital still camera" and will not show in itunes

    Hi
My friend bought a 16gb iphone today and when he plugs it into his pc it comes up with auto play and a list of things you can do (obviously the wrong driver) it is not shown in itunes. So far we have re installed itunes, restarted the device, restarted the services but nothing seems to be working.
He has a windows vista laptop and 16gb iphone, latest itunes.
    Any suggestions

    magic_man,
The iPhone reports itself as two devices, a Digital camera, and an iPhone.
The digital camera will use the standard digital camera driver.
The iPhone will use the iPhone driver, and is then handled by the Apple Mobile Device Service that must be running for iTunes to see the iPhone. With 64-bit Vista if you don't install the 64-bit version of iTunes, it won't be running. There are other situations where it may have been stopped in services, or prevented from updating by security software on the computer.
The article linked in the thread has some suggestions for making sure the Apple Mobile Device service is running correctly.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • Phone will not show in itunes

my phone won,t show in itunes

  • Iphone will not show in itunes

despite my iphone being connected to a power source in the same room as my macbook pro , it does not show up in itunes, ??

I spent many hours yesterday fumbling around this exact problem. Searched all over for input and only came upon this solution this morning. I went through attempts to update USB drivers, rolled back my OS install, uninstalled/turned off a bunch of services and was only able to get my iPhone to link up 1 time throughout the day. I followed every instruction offered by Apple in the support area for this problem.
iTunes would take up to 5 minutes to start and would not see the phone. When it finally came up, I would plug in my iPhone and it would lock up my iTunes. Some times, it would lock up my OS. I could find iTunes.exe running in my processes, as well, but the program would not actually be running to where I was able to use it.
Then I read this note, disconnected my network, started iTunes and it booted in under 20 seconds, plugged in my iPhone and it was immediately recognized.
Problem solved. The problem SHOULD NOT exist in the first place, Apple, but this workaround should work for any Windows OS user with a similar problem.
What has changed for me recently is the 1.1.4 iPhone update a few days ago and updating iTunes to the most recent version.
Please fix this, Apple. I keep forgetting to unplug my network when trying to work with my iPhone and iTunes and its a major hassle.
