Will not update apps

My iPhone 5 will not update app's. It say installing but it will not, HELP

You can use the computer to update apps. I have only just discovered this.
Just go to library, than in the top left corner it will say music, click on that and go down to apps, and sometimes it will have a red banner on the app icons saying update just richt click on that and selcect update.
This only works on the the original computer that you installed the apps on in the first place.
If the first idea doesn't work search up the apps on the iTunes store and it may say update where the purchase sigh usually is.
Hope this helped.

My iPad will not update apps.  I did try all the suggestions.  When I click on the rapidly growing number of updates, the screen stays blank.  Nothing is being downloaded.  I have worn out the re-boot function.

This is a problem that many users are experiencing now. Apple is working on a fix.
According to Fly150 in another discussion, this will work.
If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
    1. Go to App Store
    2. Select Purchased
    3. Select All
    4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
    5. Select update on the Apps
This should update the Apps and get rid of the update count in App Store. Apple needs to fix this, because you cant fix it. It is a workaround only.
you can update your apps in iTunes on your computer and sync the, to the iPad as well.

  • I pad 1 will not update apps

My IPad 1 will not update apps.  When I attempt to update, it tells me I have no more space available and to manage my storage in settings. In settings it says I have 4.8 out of 5.0 gigs available.  So why won't the apps update?
Yes I have viewed the other threads regarding similar issues. No they did not apply to this issue.
    Ty

In settings it says I have 4.8 out of 5.0 gigs available.
I believe this is the free space you have in iCloud. How much free space on your iPad?
    Go to Settings>General>About>Available

I believe this issue was addressed in a software update. If your signature is accurate, you are about five updates behind

  • My Ipod Touch iOs5 will not update apps, I did reset and still not work

My Ipod Touch will not update apps.  The apps that need updates are frozen.  I select update it says installing or waiting. The app is shaded and not able to use until I can update.  I did reset but still not updating.  What else can I do?

Thanks.  I updated my ipod touch but more importantly I had to specifically request to sync my apps.  Once I synced my apps from  my ibook, TED and other apps are highlighted back to normal. I will use fewer apps less updates to deal with.  Computers are quite a pain with all the constant updates to install.

  • Ipad 2 will not respond to mail, using IOS7.0.4.  Also, will not update apps

Two problems.  Ipad 2 wil not repond to open mail.  Receive Cannot Get Mail error.  The Ipad is using IOS 7.0.4.
Also, the apps will not be updated.  The system attempts to update apps but will not update.
I received a jpeg via email from an Iphone 4 yesterday and I feel like that was when this issue occurred.  In addition, I saved it to my photos.  I deleted the email but not the photo that was saved.  I have tried shutting down numerous times.  Will work for a few minutes then happens all over again.  I have read some old posts that suggest signing out of Itunes account on Ipad, shutting down then starting back up and signing in to Itunes again.  A few apps updated but two others will not update at all.  System keeps attempting to update but nothing happens.

Thank you.  I did the reset steps and the mail opened.  Tried the internet and no url's will open.  I am sending this to you from my macbook pro.  Went back to Mail after a few minutes to check if it will open again and I get the same error I did before resetting--Cannot Get Mail.
    Thank you.

  • Will not update apps through app store

My Ipad can not update apps through app store?

    Hi Young Steve,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The first thing I would suggest is to sign out of your iTunes & App Store account, quit all of your open apps and restart the iPad:
Sign out of your iTunes & App Store account
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1311?viewlocale=en_US
Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores.
    Tap your Apple ID.
    Tap Sign Out.
Close all open apps on the iPad
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
    Restart and/or Reset the iPad
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Before you sign back into the iTunes store, access a popular website on your iPad to confirm you are not having any issues with your Wi-Fi connection.  Follow these steps if you are having issues connectiong to the internet:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398?viewlocale=en_US
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings including previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords.
If you are not having any issues connecting to the internet, sign back in to your iTunes Store Account and check to see if you have any incomplete downloads:
iTunes: How to resume interrupted iTunes Store downloads
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1725
If you still are unable to connect to the iTunes Store, follow these troubleshooting steps:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1368
If there are apps that need to be updated, try updating one app at a time instead of all of them at once. If there is an issue with a particular app, you can delete it and redownload it.
I hope this information helps ....

Both my apple products will not update any apps, when ever I try it says "Payment Method had been declined" I don't know what to do, help!

If you account is disabled, you would need to contact Apple at 1-800-275-2273 to speak with account security. They will need to verify your information and then they can enable your account. This is the only way to enable a disabled account

  • Phone will not update apps

I am having an issue with trying to update my apps on my phone.  When I try to update it, I put in my password then it notes that it is updating then it kicks me out and it will not accept my password.  I have reset my phone, change my password, and hooked my phone up to the computer to do any back-ups.  My phone has backup on to my computer so I know its not a space issue.  If anyone has any idea on how I can get my apps to update normlly it would be appreciate.
    Thank you!!

    Hello kthomps4,
I have a few recommendations for you on this issue. First I recommend that you restart the iPhone
    Restarting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Note: Reset your device only if you are unable to restart it.
From iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430.
If that does not quite fit the bill then I recommend Deleting the apps and downloading them again. If you would rather not do that, you can attempt the restore again if you choose. iTunes: Restoring iOS software http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414.
    Take care,
    Sterling

Can anyone help - my iphone 4s was updated to latest ios 8.1.2 etc and since the first 8.1 update it will no longer download apps or update apps wireless over wifi - only when connected to iTunes..... even then I have to reboot phone to make the numbers go away on the app store icon..... it is driving me mad.... can anyone help please.......

    Hello there, susanfromguilford.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great information to review for making sure the automatic download features are turned on. In your case you may also want the "Use Cellular Data" option turned on:
Enable Automatic Downloads - Apple Support
On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Tap Settings > iTunes & App Store.
If prompted, sign in with your Apple ID.
Tap the content that you want to automatically download. If Books isn't listed, download iBooks from the App Store.
You can turn Automatic Downloads on or off over your cellular network on an iPhone or iPad Wi-Fi + 3G. Go to Settings > Store and turn Cellular Data on or off. Cellular Data downloads are limited to a file size of 50 MB or smaller.
If your issue still persists, you may want to follow the steps in this article:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on - Apple Support
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

It asks for my password for my Apple ID and then rejects it. I know I am typing it correctly because it is the same one I used to get on here. I have created a new one several time but the Update Apps function will not accrept them. What am I doing wrong.

    Hi ripmiata,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
If you have changed your AppleID information or password, you will need to sign out of your existing iCloud or iTunes Store accounts and sign back in with the new information.   You will also need to authorize your computer for the Apple ID you will be using for iTunes Store purchases.
The articles below will explain this in more detail ...
Apple ID: Changing your Apple ID
