Will only print or scan one document

When I print or scan something it will work perfectly fine for one document. Then if I try again it won't work until I reboot the machine.
Is there a reason why it won't stay connected?
It shows up on the computer and and it's connected through wifi, but always has full signal.

Hi there @Jolee21 , welcome to the forums!
I read your post about the printer jamming paper and also not scanning. I would like to help you!
Please let me know some more important information and I will research some troubleshooting options for you to try:
What is the printer model you have? How Do I Find My Model Number?
What is the Operating System on your computer? Which Windows Operating System am I running?
Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
How is the printer connected? USB, Ethernet or Wireless
What troubleshooting steps have you tried already?
When you scan, what is the exact error message you see? (Include a screen shot if possible)
In the meantime, try a reset and ensure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help greatly.
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
Thank you

  • Will only print one page of four page document

I have an HP LaserJet M1212nf and it will only print the first page of a four page document.  I tried to check the preview settings and inserted "pages 1 to 4" and print "all", but neither works.  What to do?

    Hi @5867 ,
I see that you are experiencing issues printing a multiple page document. I will certainly do my best to help you.
From the application your printing from, go to File, Print, Number of copies select 2. Uncheck Collate. You can now change the number of copies. Collate should now stay unchecked.
Try printing the multiple page document again.
You might have to disable all the startup items, to see if there is another program causing this issue.
How to use MSCONFIG. Click on the Startup tab and disable all.
    Test the printer.
Then go back in and enable all from the Startup tab.
Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor if you are still having issues. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
    What applications have you tried?
How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet)
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)
What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.
Please provide in detail the results if you are still having issues.

  • I have an all in one with wifi. It will only print one or one and a half pages

My printer will only print one or one and a half pages at a time.

Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I noticed that your HP Envy 4500 printer will only print one or one and a half pages, on Windows 8.1. I am happy to look into this printing issue for you!  Some questions for you:  What happens when you try print multiple copies? Copying Documents.Do you see any error messages on the front panel of the printer when it stops printing? Does the paper get stuck inside the printer? What happens if you print from NotePad?
In the meantime, please try the HP Print and Scan Doctor, and let me know what happens!  Hope to hear from you soon!  “Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.”

  • Appleworks will only print one page at a time, please help!

    hi there ~
no matter how many times I ask the printer to print ALL pages, it will only print one at a time, so I have to manually print page 18, 17, etc....
Could this be because the pages are arranged left to right? that would seem strange.
also, I cannot find a function to re-arrange the pages. for example, i want to re-organize to make page 18 at the front as page 1. I just don't get it though I've searched the program.
    THANKS SO MUCH!

    Hi td,
Welcome to AppleDiscussions and the AppleWorks forum.
"no matter how many times I ask the printer to print ALL pages, it will only print one at a time, so I have to manually print page 18, 17, etc...."
My memory says the same as Yvan's.
If the printer dialogue has a checkbox labeled "Collate", make sure the box is checked, even if you are printing a single copy. If memory serves, this suggestion was made in connection with HP printers.
A second possible solution is to specify the page range when printing this document (or others that exhibit this problem). (eg. for a 25 page document specify printing From page 1 To page 25.) You might try specifying p. 1 to p. 99 for any document under 100 pages, although I don't know what effect this would have for a 5 page doc.
    regards,
    Barry

  • My laser Jet 1320 will only print one copy, even when asked to print mutiples. Any thoughts?

I have a Laser Jet 1320. I have windows Vista (I know!!!) It will only print one document despite being instructed to print 2 or more. I have tried re-installing the drivers but to no avail. Does anyone have any solution possibilities. Thanks

    Then use the latest solution!
    Which doesn't need specifying either.

  • I can only scan one document at a time

I can only scan one document at a time on my scanner. Can PDF files or documents be merged together?

Your scanner software may be able to do that; not Adobe Reader.
If your scanner software cannot do that, then you'll need Acrobat or http://createpdf.acrobat.com/

  • Laserjet 2100 will only print one page at a time.

I recently acquired a second hand Laserjet 2100 Series. Installation was fine but it will only print one page at a time, I have to keep pressing the 'Go' button, which is very frustrating. The manual tells me that it is in 'Manual' mode but not how to change it. Can anyone help, please? O/S Windows 7. Thank you.

This seems to be a commercial product. For the best chance at finding a solution I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support!
You can find the Commercial Laserjet board here:

  • Designjet T520 will only print one page.

Hi, Brand new Windows 8 HP PC printing to a Designjet T520, will only print one page.I have met this problem on laserjets in the past and resolved it by enabling/disabling mopier mode. However none of the drivers I have tried (many) for the Designjet T520 have the option to turn on or off Mopier Mode. After many hours spent troubleshooting, I formatted and installed the Windows 8 machine again from scratch.Even with this brand new install on a bran new PC, I still cannot print multiple copies to the designjet. In the same office, 3 other Windows 8 machines are printing fine to the same plotter and can print mutliple copies. The driver versions are the same on all machines. Hope someone can help.Thanks.

This forum is focused on consumer level products.  For the Designjet you may have better results posting in the HP DesignJet forum here, that is where the DesignJet experts can be found.

  • Since updating to the new version the work web page that i use will only print 2 pages even if there are more. I can not get it to print all the pages in the document.

for instance....I have a documents that has 6 pages, I can scroll down and see all the pages but when i hit the print button it will only print 2 pages. I tried to change it in the setting part but there is no feature that allows you to change it.

For many years, Firefox has problems printing when some style rules are used. However, I am not aware of any changes for the worse in Fx4 (at least, until now I wasn't aware of any).
    A couple of thoughts:
    (1) Is it possible you were using an add-on in Fx3.6 that fixed this problem, but the add-on was disabled during the upgrade because it wasn't compatible? (Sometimes that can be fixed with a little hack.)
    (2) Are there any obvious settings differences that could be affecting printing, such as fonts, margins, or shrink-to-fit/percentage?
    (3) Does the workaround of selecting the entire page (Ctrl+a) and then choosing Selection under Print range in the Print dialog work? Unfortunately, this can slice through lines and images, but it often works around problems with style rules.
In the interest of saving paper, it often is useful to experiment with a PDF printer driver. If you don't have pdfFactory, you can install a trial version for testing: it lets you view the results without first having to save the file. (If you save with the trial version, there is a footer to that effect.)
    (4) Is it an HTML5 problem? You can toggle the HTML5 parser off, but this is a global setting, not site-specific. If you are familiar with about:config, filter on html5 and double click '''html5.parser.enable''' to toggle its value from true to false. This helps for some sites, but has no effect on others.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
To a large extent, the difficultly can be related to the type of document you are trying to print -- and the application you are using to print that document.
PDF documents can be tricky -- sometimes, especially if you are trying to print these from the Internet, PDF files can be stupid-hard to print because the format is messed up.
You can take a look at the following - no garantees -- it might help you find something that will help nail down what is going wrong or maybe help you figure out a way to get what you need.  For example, if all else fails, you can perhaps take a Snip of the document on the screen, save the Image, and print that.  It is a sorry excuse for a workaround - but at least you end up with something on paper.

Hello, I have exactly the same problem. I could have written the same text. And I have'nt found solutions. Except, perhaps, change this printer (and quit HP?).
Any suggestions would be really much appreciated.
Thank you for your possible responses.

  • My hp 100 mobile printer will only print one page then quits. will not print all of the pages.

    Hello colt1,
Are you using Bluetooth or USB cable to connect to the printer?  Did you install from the disc, or from the online program?  When it sits there and doesn't print, does it eventually give error messages, lights flashing, etc.?
    Thanks,

  • LaserJet 5000 will not print more than one copy at a time.

We have recently moved our office.  A LaserJet 5000 which is used as an office printer is shared through one of the computers on the network in the exact same way it was more we moved.  But since the move it will not print multiple copies of the same document no matter how many copies the software tells the printer to print it will only print one copy then it stops.  Before the moved it worked fine.  If the software program such as Word told it to print 100 copies it printed 100 copies now one is the limit.   So if you want to printmore than one you have to hit print that many times.  It has 172 MB RAM.  Does anyone have any ideas of what might have happened????

I have the same issue with a photosmart 2410xi. Did you ever get yours figured out?
