Will OpenOffice 4.1.1 run on Yosemite?

Will OpenOffice 4.1.1 run if I upgrade to Yosemite?

They're also discussing on the OpenOffice forums. Sounds like it does work. I guess I'll try installing & see if it works for me too.

  • My iMac will not start up after running on Yosemite since Beta 4

    Hi!
I have successfully been running Yosemite since the Beta 4 on my late 2012 iMac (se spec below). But I did notice that the boot process delayed for some time after approx ⅓ of the progress line was passed.
Today it did not pass this point. I had it running overnight, but it would not start up in normal mode.
It does start in safe mode.
    I have run diskrepair
    I have unplugged all peripherals
I have run the Apple Diagnostics (or AHT), no problem there whatsoever.
Is there anything else I can do except reinstall Yosemite or go to an apple workshop for repair??

I have the same problem (and have posted it elsewhere) and I have already rolled the system back to Mavericks to keep working. That seems to be he only course open for now, but will leave us with an increasingly obsolete system and future problems with new/updated apps. Not only that, but my iMac has plummeted in value.
Faced with a £1000 12-month old iMac that can't be updated, I seem to have an expensive paperweight and am beginning to regret the unkind things I said about Microshaft.
A solution is still needed, and none seems to be forthcoming from Apple.

Will Photoshop Elements 10.0 run on Yosemite?

    >Still no new solution that actually works... No additional information available either.
There is... Reinstall your OS, reinstall the Creative Suite (Or Illustrator alone) then apply the updates. This will eliminate the problem with your OS that is preventing the updates from proceeding.
This method works 100% of the time. Granted, most users want an easier answer.

Just make sure you update it to 10.6.8 (the last version of Snow Leopard) once you get it if it isn't running it already. Just go to the  menu and then Software Update. This will give you access to the App Store which is needed to download Yosemite.

    InDesign has Issues.
Photoshop appears to be OK but a re-installation may be necessary.  Run the CS Cleaner Tools below and PS uninstaller before attempting to re-install PS CS4.

    Hi Jeff,
On my main hard drive I have been trying to reinstall CS4 but the process just stalls out with no error message.  On my second hard drive when I click on any CS4 application, I get a message that "licensing for this product has expired"  or something close to that.  My second hard drive doesn't have any OS (Long story) but Apple is sending me an older OS that might run the License repair program.  I was thinking the license repair program might fix why the reinstallation isn't working on my main (Yosemite) hard drive, but that's just a wild guess.  I have always had problems with the CS4 Production Premium but Adobe has, through hours on the phone, figured out how to get me going again.  With luck, maybe the older OS that apple is sending me will be able to run the license repair program on my second hard drive and I'll be able to use cs4 off that drive.  Thanks for your reply.  I don't know if anything I've written is helpful to you.  If you are an Adobe tech a phone call might be nice.   Dean

No one knows for certain what the requirements for OS X Yosemite will be unitil it's released.

  • My MacBookPro (mid 2012) will not complete the boot process. Yosemite's progress widget gets about 1/3 to 1/2 way across when the logo disappears and the screen goes all white for 10-15 secs or so, then the machine shuts down and restarts.

My MacBookPro (mid 2012) will not complete the boot process. Yosemite's progress widget gets about 1/3 to 1/2 way across when the logo disappears and the screen goes all white for 10-15 secs, then the machine shuts down and restarts. This sequence will repeat seemingly forever unless I shut it down manually.
I upgraded to Yosemite from Mountain Lion a couple months ago, skipping Maverick completely, and I've done any associated updates that Apple told me about. I don't recall which version of Yosemite I have, but I'm sure it is the "latest and greatest".
I've tried re-starting in Safe Mode / Safe Boot and that does the same thing as described above except without the endless restarts. Instead of restarting at some point, SafeBoot proceeds to the white screen and then it hangs until I restart it manually. (I've waited as long os 20-30 minutes with no response).
When I tried the option-command-p-r key combo I never get any chimes or other noises besides the original 1 time boot sound that you would expect to get when starting up a macbook pro.
I was using the mac quite normally (meaning I was doing work I normally do on it and there was no indication of anything wrong) immediately prior to this happening.
The machine is BootCamp(ed) with Windows 8.1 which I use from a VMWare virtual machine instead of natively so that I can have both OSes running at the same time. I also think this is unrelated to my problem. I have been using this setup for more than 2 years.
My upgrade to Yosemite was uneventful and I thought it went well and was very smooth. I don't want to lead attention away from Yosemite, but at this point my problem does not seem related to the upgrade.
    Any help is appreciated.

Install or Reinstall OS X from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
      1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
      2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
      4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • MacBook Pro Running With Yosemite Isn't Seeing Photosmart 7525

Things I've done: Restarted the laptopReset the printing systemRepaired the disk permisssion in disk utilityPrinted wireless network test results The printer is connected to the internet wirelessly and can see all available wireless networks, so I know that's not the issue.

Hi , Welcome back to the HP Support Forums! I see you are not able to print to your HP Photosmart 7525, because your Mac running the Yosemite 10.10 Operating system is not seeing the wireless printer. I see you have done a few things with no success. Let's go ahead and try a different approach although some steps may need to be repeated please do ALL in order: Scrub/ Uninstall • Open the Applications folder > HP or Hewlett Packard folder > HP Uninstaller
    • Click continue, click on one of the printers in the list.
    • * Only do this step if you do not have any other HP Printers. Hold down Control, Option and Command, While holding the three buttons down,
    • Click uninstall. Reset Printing System 1. Click the Apple icon (   ), and then click System Preferences.2. In the Hardware section, click Print & Fax/Scan. The Print & Fax/Scan  dialog box opens.3. Right-click (or  Ctrl  +click) in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system…4. Click OK to confirm the reset.5. Type the correct Name and Password.6. Click OK to reset the printing system. The Print & Fax dialog box shows no printer selected
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.. Repair Disk Permissions 1.On the Dock, click Applications, and then click Utilities.2.Double-click Disk Utility.3.Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left (by default this is "Macintosh HD").4.Click the Repair Disk Permissions button at the bottom of the window.5.Once the repair is complete, restart the computer.Restart the printer. Now you can download and install the printer software and install it. Click on the link below to begin the download and follow the on screen instructions: HP Officejet Pro 8600 series Full Feature Software and Drivers Now, if you are still unable to see the Printer, continue here: Printing Over a Wireless Network with Apple's AirPrint FAQs, check out the 'No air printers found' section. I hope this helps, please let me know the outcome! Thanks,

  • Does Premiere Elements 10 run on Yosemite?

I have an iMac running on Mavericks OS. I am looking at upgrading to Yosemite but want to be sure that Premiere Elements 10 will still run on Yosemite.

Users of PSE11 & 12 have experienced problems; so PSE10 is likely affected.
It may be best to get PSE13 if you intend to upgrade your OS.
Black Friday on-line sales are worth a look as prices tend to drop during this period.
