Will os 10.8.2 prevent lags on mba?

Hallo,
I have mba mid 2012 and i installed ML on it... since i did it, OS is lagging when I am swiping form Full screen safari TOP SITES to my desktop and when is safari closed in fullscreen mode and i try to open some links from mail for etc, my tabs get some kind of bug and i cant see them properly.
I want to ask, if new update will fix these bugs and "errors" becouse I didnt spend 1259 euros for some piece of iron :/ I like my mba very much, but I hate these bugs! I didnt have it in Lion
I hope, someone (developer or sb else), who had allready installed 10.8.2 can tell me if this update repaired it.
Sorry for my English, I hope you undrestood me.

Sorry, but no one who knows anything about any upcoming version of OS X is allowed to discuss any aspect of it in these forums. We'lll have to wait for Apple to release said update before it is known what issues it may address.
Whether or not your issues are due to an error in the current version of OS X or something wrong on your particular system I can't say. Perhaps if you fully describe your problem - post in your native language if you feel that your command of English would not be sufficient - and someone may be able to help you solve the issue.
Regards.

  • Update will not connect to server, continuous lagging and questionable security?

I actually have a few questions. I recently switched to Firefox from IE9 for a few reasons. My IT Security professor mentioned Firefox was safer than most and an online article suggested it was faster than IE9. So I decided to give it a chance; the previous version was too slow and wouldn't play any video so I downloaded version 4. It worked great for about 3-4 weeks and now I'm having the following problems:
    1. Every time Firefox says it has to update, the window pops up to connect to server. All it does is continuously try to connect (nothing happens). Now, one time I left it open all day to see if it would and that night a window popped up and said to restart Firefox to complete. I did what it said and it just started trying to connect to the server again.
    2. When I first downloaded Firefox 4 it was fast and almost never lagged. Now, it seems as if every page I try to connect to lags. In fact, sometimes I have to close it down and restart. It's actually normal pages I open everyday like school, mail, weather and typical Yahoo pages. Nothing has changed on my end, so I'm unaware of why this is happening now.
    3. I'm really concerned with the security issues. I still have IE9; recently, because of lagging and security issues, I've tried switching between the two to check cleaning details. I'll run my cleaner after a day of IE9 and do the same for Firefox (same typical searches). With IE9, there's not much to clean, maybe 17-18 mb's at most (cookies, typical stuff) and never had a virus. The CPU monitor also stays calm. On Firefox, I get 160-210 mb's every time. The CPU gauge fluctuates constantly and I've had three viruses.
I'm not sure if it's because the updates will not take or what, but I've had to switch back to IE9 because of these problems. I really enjoyed Firefox (when it worked); the interface was easy to navigate and use and in the beginning was very fast. I miss it! But because of these issues, I have to take a break until they are fixed. I can't afford to have my computer crash. Please help!

If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version.
    * Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • I have an iPhone that was set up as a backup of another phone. I want to sync it with my current library; am afraid of losing synced contacts. Will I? Can I prevent this?

The older phone in question was a work phone that was set up by the owner and then distributed to employees for use. I have a new phone that will be for personal use that I have backed up from the work phone;mainly for the contacts. I want to sync the new phone with my personal library, and I go to do so and get the infamous "erase and sync" message. Will this erase they synced contacts if I do this? (Contacts are what are most important in this case; there is no music stored, for the backup had no music.) If it does, can I prevent this from happening without having to manually replace the contacts?

You did not restore the new iPhone.
The first time a new iPhone is connected to iTunes on a computer that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device or that was used to backup another iPhone or iOS devide, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device, or set up the new iPhone as a new iPhone.
Since the old iPhone was synced with iTunes on a different computer, all iTunes content on the new iPhone (which is none at the present time) will be erased first.
The warning message should indicate all iTunes content will be erased from the iPhone, which is iTunes content only.
If you are syncing contacts with a supported address book app on this computer and the supported address book app on this computer includes any contacts, you will be provided a merge prompt for the contacts, which you want to select. Otherwise the contacts on the iPhone will be replaced with the contacts in the address book app on the computer with the first sync.

  • How do I prevent lag with large layouts in CS6?

I'm having a weird problem. I'm not by any means an InDesign expert, but I know my way around the program pretty well. I would say I'm intermediate? Anyway, I've recently starting doing a lot of creating/editing of large layouts - meaning 100+ page manuals. Sometimes the manuals have images, sometimes they don't, but no matter what, they are unbelievably lag-y. The weird thing is that I will be in a document creating it for the first time and the whole time it will be golden, from creating the first to last pages. I'll even save it at the end and work in it some more and it will be fine. It's only when I open a document that large for the first after that, that it will have problems. For instance, the type tool will take 1 or two minutes to engage and will continue to have problems while I'm working in the document. If I am working in it for 20+ minutes, the problem seems to lessen, BUT as soon as I click out of InDesign (onto a webpage, another document, program, etc) then try to edit the file in InDesign again, the problem is back!
I'm operating on a Windows 7, running CS6 with everything up-to-date. I don't have much issue with slowness anywhere else. Even when I've been editing a 20+ layer Photoshop file at 600ppi that measured 7x14 feet.
I will say that the file I'm working on now doesn't have a single image in it, and I know how to reduce image-size to create optimized InDesign documents.
Is this a preference I have turned on somewhere that I'm missing????

That doesn't sound like too many styles at all. GREP styles are like live auto-find-and-replace which you will find between drop caps and bullets in your paragraph style definition. They're not the kind of thing you could turn on accidentally.

Bob and Peter have given you some splendid advice, but this is just weird. I am running CS4, CS5.5, and now CS6 all day long every day on 4-year-old hardware and don't experience any slowdowns like what you're talking about.  And I just started working on an 80-pager in 16 languages. Sure, I have to wait one or two seconds for the type tool in a long document wit a few cross-references and GREP styles active, but 1-2 seconds is very different from 1-2 minutes.
You aren't using Span Columns or Split Columns, are you?

  • How to save captured data to a log file to prevent lag?

    Here is my VI.
I read in an string of this format (the channels number are now 32 only but will like to increase up to more than 10000 later)
    Time\sStamp\tChannel:00\tChannel:01\tChannel:02\tChannel:03\tChannel:04\tChannel:05\tChannel:06\tChannel:07\tChannel:10\tChannel:11\tChannel:12\tChannel:13\tChannel:14\tChannel:15\tChannel:16\tChannel:17\tChannel:20\tChannel:21\tChannel:22\tChannel:23\tChannel:24\tChannel:25\tChannel:26\tChannel:27\tChannel:30\tChannel:31\tChannel:32\tChannel:33\tChannel:34\tChannel:35\tChannel:36\tChannel:37\tIP\sAddress\t\n
The problem I am now having is that, the data is through UDP sending in, the program start off normal capturing all data, but when data are captured and saved to the .log file after an hour or more, some of the data will start to be missed.
I guess this is beause the .log file is becoming larger, and in the rate of 10Hz (now), the file open and close can't chase up? so some data are missed?
Anyone could advice or amend the VI so that I could have a better way to save the captured data? making a buffer? or what so ever? Hope someone could help =]
    Thanks.

I don't know which part handling the error is wrong.
If possible, maybe could you help me delete the whole auto naming function (move it aside) and just add in a promt user for saving directory thing ok?
    Thanks!
Here is the file and i added the excel in.
    Hi milkbottlec,
Regarding the headings in the middle of your file, I imagine the filename changed temporarily.  When the name changed BACK to an exisiting name, the headings were added (anticipating a new file.)  I'm more curious about the "lost" data problem.  Do you still see holes in the data?  If so, were any bad filenames recorded?
Sure! Why not present a file-dialog instead of automatically generating filenames,  Looks like you've mastered the "True/False" case, why not build on what you know?  Experiment with the File Dialog express VI on the FILE\Advanced File Functions palette.  Personally, I'm a fan of auto-generated filenames, though, not necessarily built from the data.
    Cheers!

  • Will a higher speed modem prevent streaming issues in a wireless network?

I have a cable modem from 2007.  I use a time machine to create a wireless network connected to a 2007 iMac.  I use a 2007 MacBook to stream videos to my HDTV.  I experience stop-start in the video, but I don't get the wheel on the MacBook.
If I purchase and install a newer modem and get higher speed cable, will this issue be resolved?

Will a new router increase my broadband speed
No...your speed is only going to be as fast as your weekest link, which in your case is the DSL modem and the connection speed package you subsribe to.

  • Will the iPhone pass code prevent restoring the iPhone using iTunes ?

    Hello everyone,
I've set up a pass code on the iPhone that prompts me for it everytime I come out of sleep mode. I was wondering, if someone steals my iPhone can he restore the iPhone to factory settings using iTunes on his computer even with the pass code on?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks guys for your answers. That protection of the data is very nice ! Especially with mails etc on the phone !
If I wanted to restore the phone without knowing the password I would absolutely have to use the computer where I pluged the iPhone for the first time ? What happens if let's say I forget my passcode, and change my computer?
I have another question if you don't mind that's not really on this precise topic but relates to it a little bit: if someday I get a new computer and trash this one. Will I still be able to connect my iPhone to it and use iTunes to put apps and songs on the iPhone etc like I do now ? How does this work exactly please?
Thanks again for the help guys ! This device is just great but I'm really a total stranger to iTunes, Mac and their products unfortunately.

  • OS X lion USB Thumb Drive - will this work on new Mac Mini or MBA (2011)?

    Hi All,
Not to be confused with the other similar posts, I am interesting in only clarification of what build comes with the USB Thumb Drive now available on Apple Store - will this work with new MBA and Mac Mini?
    Thanks,

    KeanuReeves wrote:
From what I have read about the usb installer, it is not intended for you to try booting from the stick after wiping your hard drive. You are to click on the installer
You may be correct, but this statement is quite confusing in that context:
    Important Note
When you install OS X Lion using the USB thumb drive, you will not be able to reinstall OS X Lion from Lion Recovery. You will need to use the USB thumb drive to reinstall OS X Lion.
So, if the Thumb drive is supposed to take the part of the Recovery partition, it seems that it should be able to boot. However, the license agreement still requires an Apple computer running Snow Leopard, so maybe it isn't bootable.

  • AirPlay lagging with MBA but ok with ipad

When I use my new macbook air to stream movies with airplay to atv3 quality is very bad. It is lagging a lot and general poor quality.
However if I use my ipad it works perfectly every time.
    Any ideas regarding this problem?

There's nothing that you can do on the ATV or MBA end to improve the throughput of the connection, there's no settings or adjustment everything is automatically negotiated. That being said there are numerous threads across all the portable sub-forums with user reporting identical problems: Portable laggy, iOS device not laggy.
These movies you're attempting to stream, are they not in iTunes? If they're in iTunes why not use the Home Sharing of iTunes option?
You can try some router adjustments, making sure it's set to 5GHz (if your router is new enough to support that) try adjusting channels, moving the machine closer to the router, reducing router transmission interference in the immediate area, etc.
There's also the method of wiring the AppleTV to the router via Ethernet or the machine to the router via Ethernet to improve throughput on one of the two ends.

  • Will Logic Pro X run on the latest MBA with i5 and 8GB RAM?

    Hi,
want to buy the new Logic Pro X but I´m not sure if it will rum smoothly on my MBA 2013 with i5 and 8GB Ram.
I saw some very promising posts on the i-net regarding Logic Pro 9 which seems to run nice. But does the latest version of Logic require more hardware power?
Can anybody share any experience on this?
    thanks!

Logic Pro X has got some system requirements, and your MacBook meets all of these requirements > https://www.apple.com/logic-pro/specs/
Have a look at the Logic forum and read experiences. Also, there are reviews over the Internet, but if Logic Pro 9 works properly in that MacBook, Logic Pro X will also run properly

  • Will apple tv lag playing a movie from iTunes located on an external HD?

Hi!  I have recently bought an Apple TV 3 and am excited to use it.  Everything is set up and seems to be working fine.  My question is, I had started adding movies to my iTunes library and noticed the size is quite large (1.2 GB per movie) and don't want to fill up my internal hard drive space with these.  If I keep them on an external hard drive, still having them in iTunes but not copying them in their, will playback on Apple TV 3 lag at all if it is running from a USB 2 connected external hard drive on the computer?
Any help would greatly be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Many people including myself keep their iTunes library on an external drive. There should be no problem doing this.

  • ITunes Lagging after replacing the Hard Drive

    Hi Everyone -
A recent purchase of a MacBook Pro 2.5 GHz Non-Glossy (12 days ago).
Replacement of the HD from Hitatchi to Samsung 'Ultra Quiet' (my Hitatchi was making funky noises)
Now when I open iTunes (or even Quicktime) to play music, there are MAJOR lags in the system. Spinning Rainbow ball and all. Even after closing iTunes, this still effects the operating system. Mouse is hard to move, programs non-responsive. Total back up.
    - Re-installed iTunes 2x - same results.
    Any suggestions?
    Derek

I am experiencing the same problem.
I recently upgraded my Macbook Pro's hard disk and used Migration Assistant to transfer everything back to my new hard disk.
Now, whenever iTunes, Quicktime player or Front Row is launched, there will be very frequent system halts/lags which lasts several seconds each time. Activity Monitor shows that these processes only take up a minor percentage of CPU usage, and there are no other processes consuming the CPU (idle% >90%). Disk activity is also minimal to none. The problem resolves after quitting these programs.
I have tried zapping the PRAM, clearing system cache, rebuilding permissions and reinstalling Quicktime and iTunes but none of these helped.
