Will OSX, icloud sync/work with google calendar?

I was wondering if I can use google services gmail, calendar...etc.  with OSX and with ICloud.  Thanks.

In short, yes, you can use Google services with OS X 10.7 (Lion). I also posted something to the discussion that cjrzasa mentioned above: https://discussions.apple.com/message/16867731.
As I noted there, you can add subscriptions (using iCal on Lion) that sync through iCloud to your other devices (iPhone, MacBook, Mac Pro, etc.) but they won't actually be displayed on icloud.com.

  • Have thunderbolt and need to sync ical with google calendar in order to use.  Any suggestions?

Have a thunderbolt and MacBook.  Need to sync ical with google calendar as thunderbolt supports google calendar.  Any suggestions?

I think we may be talking about two different things. Thunderbolt is the new two way display port on Mac Book Pros and Apple displays.
Thunderbolt (originally codenamed Light Peak) is an interface for connecting peripheral devices to a computer via an expansion bus. Thunderbolt was developed by Intel and brought to market with technical collaboration from Apple Inc. It was introduced commercially on Apple's updated MacBook Pro lineup on February 24, 2011.
Thunderbolt combines PCI Express and DisplayPort into a serial data interface. A single Thunderbolt port supports hubs as well as a daisy chain of up to seven Thunderbolt devices; up to two of these devices may be high-resolution displays using DisplayPort. You can move data to and from peripherals up to 20 times faster than with USB 2.0 and up to 12 times faster than with FireWire 800.

  • Sync issues with Google Calendar and e-mail alerts

    Hello,
I'm experiencing a lot of problems with iCal while I'm trying to sync it with Google Calendar. I have correctly inserted my Google account information into iCal, but:
    when I create a new event and I disable the e-mail alert and save it, it automatically turns on the e-mail alert! Is there a way to disable by default all alerts? I have already tried to go to Settings - Advanced and select “Disable all alerts” with no result;
all the events I create into iCal are correctly synced with Google Calendar and I can correctly read them on the web app, but in my android device they don't have the time information (they are listed as all-day events)

GooSync would do the trick - http://www.goosync.com/
Plz be aware that Goosync nor Google Contacts supports all field from your phone so it is not an 100% backup unfortunately

  • My google calendar on my PC will no longer sync to my google calendar in my iPhone! Help

So, I've had my iPhone since September of 2011--and it has synced beautifully with my Google calendar, until very recently!  Now, I will put an event in my google calendar when I'm on my PC, and the event will show-up only on my Google calendar on my computer and NOT sync with my iPhone whereas it WOULD in the past.  Same issue when I put an event in my iPhone's google calendar--it will show-up on there and send me reminders, but it will not show-up in my Google calendar on my computer.  Weirdest of all---I will get push notifications of events from my iPhone for events that I put in my Google calendar from my PC; however, it will not show the event actually in my calendar when I view it.  It's driving me nuts!  I live by my calendar so this is causing all kinds of frustrations!
    PLEASE HELP.

    Try this
Settings>Mail Contacts and Calendars >tap the mail account - delete account - re-add the gmail account
Or Export your calendar and use iCloud

  • Sync Calendars like "Calendar", "Home", and "Work" with Google Calendar

When I go into the iCal program on my mac, I have three calendars that I assume iCloud/iCal creates automatically for you. The ones that are showing up for me include: "Calendar", "Home", and "Work". All of these three calendars are under the iCloud subheading. Under the Gmail subheading, I have my google calendar. I would like to be able to sync these three iCloud calendars with my google calendar, as when I create a new event in iCal, it does not show up in Google Calendar. How can I make this happen? Also, when I create an event from Google Calendar, it shows up on iCal and all of my iOS devices, however, it does not show up in iCloud.com's calendar. Why is this, and how can I fix it?

You can't.  That's not how it works.
In the iCal app, indiviudal calendars exist either locally on you Mac or in the "cloud" on a server like iCloud, Google, Yahoo!, Exchange etc.
Logging on to your iCloud account at icloud.com will only gain you access to your iCloud calendars much as logging on your Google Calendars account will only gain you access to your Google calendars.

  • Will iCloud syncing work with non-Intel Macs?

My wife is using an older Mac. (Pre-Intel)
She now has a new iPhone 5.
I realize the new phone can not sync with the old version of iTunes that runs on her machine.
But can the iCloud "see" her old Mac and sync contacts with it?
(So far it doesnt seem to be working.)

    No.

  • How to use iPhone to sync Outlook with Google calendar?

This is a bit of a convoluted question, but I think there may be an answer using the iPhone as a go between. Here is the issue, I cannot get my google calendar and my Outlook calendar to sync with each other.  I'm using Outlook 2011 on a macbook pro which is using 10.6.8.  The macbook does not have iCloud services on it.  I am also using an iPhone 5 which of course does have iCloud.
Before recently switching to an iPhone, I always used a Blackberry.  I was able to get my google calendar events to appear in my Outlook calendar when I connected the Blackberry to my mac with a cord and selected "sync" in the Blackberry desktop manager.  There were some issues with duplicate events on my BB calendar, but I could deal with that.  For that set up, I had turned everything on to sync with as much as possible, including iCal.
Here is my current question.  Now that I am using the iPhone, is there a way to make google calendar and Outlook calendar sync with each other?  I would think this is possible, because my iPhone and my iCal have all the events from both calendars.  Google is syncing with my iCal, and Outlook is syncing with my iCal.  So, shouldn't the sync work in reverse as well?  Does the iCal only receive events from these two sources but not also "export" events to these calendars as well?
And, is there a fix using either the iPhone or iCal to make both calendars appear in both places, as they do in my iCal and my iPhone?
    Thank you!

In order to be able to order from the U.S. Online Store you need to have a U.S. credit card and the device has to be shipped to a U.S. address.

  • How to sync iCal with google calendar

I am trying to sync my Google calander with my iCal calander . I have tried the support suggestions in Google help. Re: creating another account in ICal etc.. But that doesn't work.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

This is the Apple iCloud forum which has nothing whatsoever to do with syncing with Google.
Try the Google forums, and see here: http://www.google.com/sync/index.html

  • How do i sync ical with google calendar, in that direction

i have google cal and ical syncset up but it was set up by google telling what to enter into ical. this made my other calendars, all the google calendars i have other than the main one, into "delegates" on ical.
whats the reason or process for this? cant they just been normal calendars on ical?
the reason i ask is that i have a menu pull down app which seems to only read "normal" calendars and not delegated calendars...
can i sync ical to google cal but enter details into ical to sync with google rather than the other way round?

So if I make calendar entry in my iphone it syncs to my mac ical but not icloud.
If everything is set to use iCloud then it's impossible for data to get from the iPhone to the mac but not iCloud, since all the data actually resides on iCloud and is read from there by devices. It rather sounds as if you have some syncing going on iTunes. If you look at the calendar listing on your Mac and Phone they must be listed under iCloud, not 'On My Mac/iPhone' - is that the case?

  • HT1386 Syncing bug with Google calendar?

Invites downloaded to iPhone calendar are not updated with subsequent change/ deletion in Google calendar. iCloud not used. Is it a bug?

Same problems here. Halloween showed Nov 1 ! That's a laugh. Also an 'all day' event created in Google which last more than 1 day will show with the last day of the event missing on the Pre. I just deleted and reset the account and all the multiple all day events show one day short on the Pre. However the info in the event details on the Pre indicate the correct date range. Eg: I just created a 4 day event from Nov 4 to Nov 8 on Google and Pre shows Nov 4 to 7 graphically only but with Nov 4 to 8 in the details. Strange.
So far Palm's solution has been a suggested partial erase. Doesn't help. I don't understand how such bright people can create such a wonderful OS and then promptly mess up a simple calendar application. This thing was sold on Synergy and I can't even keep an accurate shared calendar with mself let alone with my wife's Pre.

  • How to sync iCal with Google calendar (both ways)???

I have been trying to sync my ical with my google calendar both ways.
I got all new event created in google calendar syncing into iCal but i can't get the one created in iCal go into google calendar.
    Help please!!!!
    thx

When entering a new event in iCal be sure your "google" calendar is highlighted on the left had side of your screen. That makes Google your default calendar as you add events. Or you can choose which calendar from the drop-down box in the details box when adding a new entry. The down side is that is seems you can only select one Calendar; so the "Home", "Work", "Untitled" options become moot if you want to sync back to google.
If you already had events scheduled in iCal; you can right click on them, select "Calendar" and then choose your google calendar. When you refresh your google calendar that event should show up.
You simply need to be sure what Calendar you're entering into. Also if you wait a few SECONDS the calendars DO sync without any need to manually synchronize them.
So basically, ensure you're entering into the Google Calendar in iCal and wait a minute.

Can anyone describe how to sync google calendar with iCal?

    Hope that helps!

  • Sync iCal with google calendar

I want to have all my events on my google calendar not my google events on my iCal.

If you already had events scheduled in iCal; you can right click on them, select "Calendar" and then choose your google calendar. When you refresh your google calendar that event should show up. I had hoped this would all be automatic (true two-way syncing) but I guess not.
You simply need to be sure what Calendar you're entering into. Also if you wait a few SECONDS the calendars DO sync without any need to manually synchronize them.

  • HT2513 How do I syncing iCal with Google Calendar with 2-step verification turned on?

    MacBook Pro
    Lion 10.7.3
I am writing to ask for help in connecting my iCal to my google calendar with 2-step verification turned on.
While google has application specific passwords set up, they don't seem to work through iCal or though Mail, Contacts and Calendars.  Any ideas or solutions would be great.
    Thanks

Thanks Kao. I've tried that.  Didn't work for me.
I found a reply in another thread that indicated that after setting up in Mail, Contats and Calendars I needed to delete my account from within iCal then recreate it in iCal using the application specific password.  I did that.  iCal seemed to accept it, I've closed and reopened a few times and it seems to be working now without the errors.
I was able to get it to work yesterday temporarily - hope it sticks this time.
