Will photos, albums and photo stream remain after sync

I have created photo albums on iOs5 with selected pictures from photos I imported from my SD card while traveling. Will the photos, photo stream and albums remain intact on my iPad when I sync them to my iMac?

From various sources (doing a google search)
You are having a photo stream folder in your Album because you have enable Photo Stream in iCloud. By default, after you make a picture it will of course be save in your camera roll folder, then because photo stream is enable in iCloud which is also active on your iPhone, your pictures will be send to the iCloud server, and iCloud have the responsibility to share those pictures with all your iDevices which are sharing the same iCloud account with your iPhone, iCloud will find that your iPhone is sharing that iCloud and so will share those new pictures in the iCloud with your iPhone to including other iDevices which sharing your iCloud account. Thus you will see that those pictures already present in your camera roll are appearing in the Photo stream folder.
You will not be able to delete those pictures, it will auto delete from the iCloud after a period of time.
If you do not want to see the photo stream there anymore, then just turn off Photo stream in iCloud and it will go away.
Photo library is the collection of all photos in iPhoto and an album is what you can create to store some of the photos in a library, like a folder stores files.

Just because Apple will no longer support IPhoto or Aperture doesn't mean that the versions that are still out there still won't work, function or still do what it is designed to do.
I do not like all of this offsite, Cloud service storage, anyways. I rather have easy, trouble free access to all of my data locally.
I am still planning on using the current versions of IPhoto and Aperture as I am not moving any time soon to Yosemite or any newer OS versions based on it. I still use a lot of legacy software that I simply can't afford to upgrade any farther.
Plus, I use other photo book sites other than Apple's own service, anyways, because these other services offer more products and are far more flexible than Apple's own print services.

  • My iPhone is FULL, no memory left for photos. If I move all my photos off my iPhone, will the 'ALBUMS' and their content (pics) be blown away ? Also, what is the BEST way to clear/save photos off my iPhone ? PC, ITunes, some other app ?

I use an app called FileApp to transfer photos to my PC - I can then selectively delete photos from my iPhone and still have them on my PC - just download the app to your iPhone and follow the instructions for the accompanying program for your PC - then use your iPhone cable to connect - iTunes will also start up so just close it and you will see the iPhone storage as a drive - go the DCIM folder and open the device folder and you will see your photos.

  • If you edit photos in iPhoto, will Photo Stream (iCloud) update the photos on your other devices?

Am I dreaming or will Photo Stream (iCloud) update photos on my Macbook when I edit them (enhance, crop, rotate, etc) on my iMac (automatically or otherwise)? If so, do I need to do anything besides the basic Photo Stream setup to make this happen? The movie on Apple's site about iCloud seems to imply this is true, but it's vague. I'm unable to find anything about this in the small amount of Help articles about iCloud. Thanks for any help.

    Yes via your Wi-Fi network.

  • Updates all the photos (cameraroll) in iCloud or is it just photo stream when you sync? I have 5000 photos in the camera but only 800 in the stream and I would like to save them all. How to do?

Plug your iPhone into your Mac and open iPhoto. Transfer the photos from the phone to your Mac.

  • HT201317 why the last photos in photo stream are not sync with my iPad?

why the last photos in photo stream are not sync with my iPad?

Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
If this doesn't help you may need to reset photo stream. You can do this at icloud.com by clicking on your name in the top right corner and then the advanced settings in the pop-up dialogue box that appears.
Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back.

  • My iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 8.1 laptop or my Windows 7 PC.

I have been going through the forums for the last few weeks and nothing has helped.  Both computers are x64 bit.
    Problems I am experiencing
    A. Windows 7 PC has not synced photo stream since September 25
    B. Windows 8.1 laptop has not synced since a little before that.
    C. I can't upload any photos (.jpegs) to the photo stream.  An error pops up saying that they cann't be uploaded as they are not in a format supported by iCloud, even though they are jpegs.
    D. Photos are syncing ti my ipad 3 perfectly fine, so clearly there is a problem with my computers but I am totally stumped.
I have un-installed, deleted all icloud photo stream folders, restarted and then re-installed the iCloud control panel on both computers, and it has created new folders and re-synced maybe 30 photos before it stopped again.
I have uninstalled every single Apple program on my Windows 8.1 laptop and reinstalled iTunes, iCloud and Quicktime and that didn't help.
I have toggled the Photo Stream on/off button in setting on my iphone, and that seemed to kick start the sync on my Windows 7 PC this morning, so far I've got 70 photos on my Windows 7 PC and that's where it has stopped but its a really random selection, and doesn't include the photos I took yesterday or today.
Two of my colleagues at work where my Windows 7 PC is located - their photo streams are working fine, both using ios7 and icloud control panel, however their computers are x32 bit.
I have also simply logged out and signed in again multiple times, however that doesn't do anything.
I have unticked the "read-Only" permissions on my photo icloud stream folder, but that didn't help either.
I have followed the troubleshooting from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3989 - however that also did not help.
I have tried changing the folder path for iCloud photo stream, however that did not help either.
I tried the steps from someone who said they spoke to an Apple rep (steps copied from forum and I put them in italic) on this forum: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5381738
Anyway, the Apple rep had me sign out of iCloud CC on my PC.
Then on each iOS devices Settings/iCloud/Delete Account.
    Confirmed all the warnings.
Then re-entered my iCloud id and password on the iOS device.
Things restarted and the iOS Photo Streams got loaded with the number of photos that
    iCloud has.
Signed in on iCloud on the PC. It synced the same way.
Tried taking pictures on the iPhone and iPad. They synced everywhere.
    So I'm back in business.
I just deleted everything on my iOS devices when I exited iCloud.
My interest is the PC syncing when I take a photo on my iPhone.
ME: Okay so these steps again refreshed the photostream on my iPhone 5.  I can see that the photos I took yesterday and today have been uploaded to the photo stream as I can see them there on my device.  I have also now signed back into iCloud on my Windows 7 PC and it is slowly syncing again, but just recognising the same photos it downloaded previously as per Step 3 which I did just earlier this morning.
I have also just tried uploading photos via the upload folder from my windows 7 PC, and they uploaded perfectly.
This is really, really frustrating.  I've tried everything I can find on these forums but nothing has helped fix the issue 100%.
Can anyone offer something else I can try to reslove this issue?

Hi all.  I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues.  Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.
But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem.  …without even a re-boot.
Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.
Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive.  Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab.  Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.
    Open the Users folder.
    Open your user folder
    Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)
Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.
    Open the Installer Cache folder
In Details view sort on Name
Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013
Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.
When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco.  The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”.  Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.
I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.
For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear.  Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?
    Good luck…

I have a 16g iPhone4 and iCloud takes up 5g if I delete the iCloud account to free up space will my iPad4 and iPhone still be in sync with my calendars, reminders, contacts, photos and so on?........

Deleting an iCloud account on an iOS device just deletes the account on the device, nothing more.

  • I've just bought an album and downloaded it,went to sync it to my ipod shuffle and it doesn't appear in the album list to sync, yet it is in the music library? why is it not available to sync?

I've just bought an album and downloaded it,went to sync it to my ipod shuffle and it doesn't appear in the album list to sync, yet it is in the music library? why is it not available to sync?

This sounds similar to the problem where new purchases will appear in playlists, but not the main music source, suggesting that iTunes is making a hash of the indexes. Somewhat bizarrely the solution for that one seems to be to download the current free Single of the Week, maybe it will help you too.

  • IPhoto '11 Deletes All Albums, Events And Photos From iPad after Sync

In addition to many of the other issues mentioned on this thread, today I synced my iPad for the first time since upgrading to iPhoto '11. After syncing, all the photos, events and albums except for "Imported Photos" were deleted.
In iTunes, the iPad is set to sync albums and events from the last 12 months.
iPhoto '11 has been a horror show for me. I use iPhoto daily and am currently in the process of downgrading via Time Machine.
I understand that as a professional photographer I should be using Aperture or Lightroom, but I've just always felt comfortable with iPhoto.

I really wish I hadn't jumped on this the first day. I need to wait a little bit and read the forums. Had I done this, I would've done a complete clone of my photo library prior to this. now I've lost a few months worth of photos, which *****. And there are people in a lot worse situations than I. Lesson learned.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off".

Photo stream had been turned on the whole time while I am overseas, will the photos and video i took be automatically sync to the Mac on iphoto back at home?

  • IMac shared Photo Streams empty after Yosemite

I installed Yosemite last night.  Have been running iOS 8 for a while.  My shared Photo Streams (under iCloud/Family and Friends’s Streams) are all empty on my iMac.  They are still populated on my iOS devices.  Anyone else having this problem?

Same issue for me, we rely on this for business. Received an invitation to view a new shared stream since Yosemite update, and colleagues can view the stream and mine stays populated at "0" pictures. I unchecked and rechecked the picture sharing preferences, which repopulated all streams, except another stream which is much older. I can't figure it out, but our company uses iPhone and iMac. This is disappointing and will have to consider using different software to share photos if it isn't resolved soon.
