Will photos photo streamed to PC remain on PC if deleted on iOS device

Will photos streamed to PC stay there if deleted from iPad?

Yes, if you leave them in the iCloud folder. Copy them to another folder before you delete them.

  • If you edit photos in iPhoto, will Photo Stream (iCloud) update the photos on your other devices?

Am I dreaming or will Photo Stream (iCloud) update photos on my Macbook when I edit them (enhance, crop, rotate, etc) on my iMac (automatically or otherwise)? If so, do I need to do anything besides the basic Photo Stream setup to make this happen? The movie on Apple's site about iCloud seems to imply this is true, but it's vague. I'm unable to find anything about this in the small amount of Help articles about iCloud. Thanks for any help.

    Yes via your Wi-Fi network.

Just because Apple will no longer support IPhoto or Aperture doesn't mean that the versions that are still out there still won't work, function or still do what it is designed to do.
I do not like all of this offsite, Cloud service storage, anyways. I rather have easy, trouble free access to all of my data locally.
I am still planning on using the current versions of IPhoto and Aperture as I am not moving any time soon to Yosemite or any newer OS versions based on it. I still use a lot of legacy software that I simply can't afford to upgrade any farther.
Plus, I use other photo book sites other than Apple's own service, anyways, because these other services offer more products and are far more flexible than Apple's own print services.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Yes you should be able to log into iCloud on a Mac from system preferences > iCloud and set up photostream to download any photos that are there. You should also be able to use your iCloud back up to restore any replacement phone to reflect the phone you lost.

  • How can iTune-synched photos be deleted from iOS devices if the iTunes computer is no longer available?

How can iTunes-synched photos be deleted from iOS devices if the iTunes computer is no longer available?
This can happen because the iOS device is on travels distant from the iTunes computer, because the iTunes computer is on travels distant from the iOS device, because the iTunes computer has failed permanently, because the iTunes computer has been stolen, etc.

The only possibility I can think of, is to consult with an Apple Store Genius.  See if there is some kind of Apple proprietary software or diagnostic tool that can do it.
I do not think you want to, but you could go to Settings-General-Reset-Erase All Content and Settings.  If you decided to do that, you might be able to restore from a previous backup when you get home.

  • How can I get my photos stored on iPad back if I do not own iOS device anymore?

    Hi,
I need to get my photos stored on iPad back.
I do not own iOS device anymore.
I think I have been synced the photos with the cloud but not sure. The same with updating to iOS5. It was iPad 2.
I have installed the iCloud for Windows, but do not see the photos downloaded back to my windows notebook. Maybe I should turn on syncing somehow or it should start automatically after I run iClpud app and set photo syncing option on?
If it's not help, do you have any other ideas?
For example, could it be helpful if I try to get someones else iPad and login to app store with my account to see my old photo?
    Thanks.

In iTunes I see I hade a backup in Dec'11, so I gues I had used iCloud. Any ideas why my photos are not downloading back via iCloud for Windows?

  • Will photo stream automatically sync all photos to iphoto if i am overseas

Photo stream had been turned on the whole time while I am overseas, will the photos and video i took be automatically sync to the Mac on iphoto back at home?

Just wanna clarify... i had already deleted the photos in photo stream and eventually turned it off and sign out of iCloud.... but what's been in photo stream before had already been sync to my brother's Mac and there's nothing i can do right now, is that right? and the only way i could delete my photos is to login to his computer and do it from there?

  • How do i get all photos that ive got in my photo stream to i cloud and then put on to new device?

Can any1 help me i want to know how to get all my photos from my photo stream to i cloud and then find them and put them back on my new iphone?? Ive always had on i cloud and synced via wifi but i cant find them anywhere!??

Photostream in the cloud only keeps photos from the last 30 days (subject to a 1,000 photo limit). When photostream syncs the photos to your device they will stay there until deleted, which means you may well have more photos in your photostream album on your device than there are in photostream in the cloud.
The consequence of this is that if you turn photostream off and on again on your device, it will only be populated with photos from the last 30 days, which may not be all the photos that were previously in the photostream album on that device.
If this is what seems to be happening here, then one solution would be to create a shared photostream album on your old phone using the older photos that haven't transferred to your new phone.
You should regularly save your photos to a computer, photo stream will only save photos to your computer if instructed to do so and then only when iPhoto is open.

  • HT204022 photo stream, pictures to the computer and then deleted?

In my albums, photo stream shows up with hundreds of pictures in it.  I want to copy them to my computer and delete them, but I don't seem to know how to do this.
    Help please.
photo stream has no delete button anywhere that i can find.

Photo stream photos will display a trash icon on the bottom right of your phone when you tap Select, then tap the photos to select them.  The only photo albums on your phone that won't display a trash icon are photos that were originally synced to your phone from a computer using iTunes.  Those photos can only be synced off again using iTunes.
If that's how these photos got on your phone and they are no longer on your computer, the only way to transfer them back to your computer is to use a 3rd party app such as PhotoSync.  After transferring them to your computer you can delete them by creating an empty folder on your computer, then syncing this folder to your phone by selecting it on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing.
If these photos really are in your my photo stream album and selecting them does not reveal a trash icon, then something is wrong with your phone and I suggest you back it up and restore it.

  • I have a 6GB iphone 4.  My photo stream takes up 4.7KB, how to delete?

I always wondered why I only had 50 photos, why I deleted every single app and why I don't have any memory even after purging EVERYTHING.  It looks like all my memory is being used by my photo stream.  However, I don't have a photostream "Tab" or "album" to delete from.  My photo stream is "Turned off" under all of my settings options for iCloud and Photos.  I need help! my iphone is basically unusable since any time I write an email or message I get the "Storage Almost Full" error, or that there is Not enough room to take photos or download an app.

If you connect to iTunes and look at the usage, it sounds like you have a lot of "Other".  This category is normally about 1 GB and consists of the iOS itself, plus a variety of misc. stuff.  If "Other" is most of your 5.5 GB of used space, chances are you have something corrupted and/or a whole bunch of pictures or videos attached to iMessages.
First try doing some clean up of media files attached to iMessages to see if that helps.  However, you may need to Restore the iPhone (first by re-loading your backup, but if that doesn't help then Restore again without using a backup, which means re-doing ALL your settings).  Restoring without a backup will surely get your "Other" down to 1 GB or less, but you'll lose some things like old text messages, game/app progress, etc.

  • HT204022 I have an old "Photo Stream" that is unwanted and cannot be deleted. How can I delete it?

In Photos on my iPhone 5, I have Camera roll, My Photo Stream, Favorites, Panoramas,Videos, and Photo Stream (an old one). This last photo stream is big in size, unwanted, and yet, cannot be deleted. I need more storage space on my phone, but I don't know how to delete this old unwanted Photo Stream. I use Windows PC, and I have the iCloud installed with all components unchecked.

Did you create a NEW Apple ID or did you change the email address for your OLD Apple ID? This will affect how you update apps in the future.
Anyway, go to Settings/iTunes&App Stores, log out, then log in with the new ID.

  • Why photo stream is not working in my iPhone 4s with ios 6?

Since i update my iphone 4s to ios6, the photo stream function does not work.
After the ios 6 upgrade i checked that my photo stream photos, where there both in iphone and imac (i used iphoto, now i am using aperture..see comment below). Yesterday i delete the pictures from my photo stream and i tried to take new pictures to upload but all my attempts were failing.
Specifically, I have full battery and i am connected to wi-fi. I have the photo stream function "on", in the icloud settings, and i take a picture with my camera. I close the camera application and i go to the photo application to see this picture in "my photo stream". There is no picture there.
I have tried several things either from apple's trouble shooting guides or from several related discussions in forums, like opening and closing photo stream in iphone and imac. I reset photo stream from icloud and i even delete and recreate my icloud account. I closed the photo stream function both in my imac and iphone and i restarted them, but again no result. I hard reset the iphone and re-open photo stream
I have checked that i use the same icloud account and it is correct.
Another tip is that i recently upgrade Aperture to 3.4 in order to support photo stream. Since then i was using iphoto. The strange thing, is that after the upgrade, i lost the photo stream function in iphoto and i have it only in Aperture. In Aperture, I was able to see the photos i had photo streamed before the upgrade to ios 6
Furthermore, i tried to make a share photo stream and i shared a picture with my email address. I went to aperture where i can see the new shared photo stream folder but is is empty. In my iphone, i find the shared folder with the picture.
I really dont know what else to do because i have tried anything possible and i have search the whole web for a solution
    Please help
    thanks!

The current version of the Facebook app requires iOS 4.3 or later, as do many current or recent apps. Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
    Regards.

  • How do I remove photos from iPhone 5 without their also being deleted from other devices?

I have albums on my iPhone and would like to delete them but, if I do so, they will also delete from my iPad, due to syncing through iCloud.  It seems, even if I turn iCloud off, temporarily, they will delete from the iPad next time iCloud is turned on.
I suspect that, even if I shift the albums to a flash drive, the same thing will happen.
    Thank you

I don't understand the difference between Photo Stream and Camera Roll.
Camera Roll is the "local" storage on your device, where photos and videos that you take get saved.  This can take up a lot of space, and since Camera Roll is part of your backup that makes your backup very large too.
My Photo Stream is the iCloud storage for photos.  This also takes up space, but not as much because they're not full resolution.  Depending on your device settings, when you take a picture it is saved in Camera Roll and then automatically uploaded to your My Photo Stream (for the purpose with sharing with other devices on your iCloud account).  My Photo Stream is meant to be temporary as it only holds the last 30 days' photos and only up to 1000 ... as these limits are reached, the oldest photos get deleted from iCloud.  Note that videos that you take do not get uploaded to My Photo Stream.
Think of Camera Roll as you would think of a digital camera, and My Photo Stream as a temporary cloud-based storage area for sharing.
So as roaminggnome says above, make a habit of transferring photos and videos from Camera Roll to your computer and then delete them from the device.  If you want to keep them on the device, still transfer and delete them but then make a designated folder on your computer for the things you want on your device and sync them back to your iPhone by telling iTunes to sync to this folder on your computer.

  • Aperture, Photo Stream and new iPhone

My wife just got her first iPhone but was disappointed when she looked at Photo Stream and only about 85 shots showed - I guess the ones that were sent to the iCloud in the past 30 days. She wanted some of the older ones.
So - figuring I would be a good hubby - I went into Aperture, where there are about 550 shots showing in Photo Stream, going back to last year. But when I selected some of the older ones and said "share in Photo Stream" they would not appear on her phone. I am assuming this is because Aperture still sees them as "being in Photo Stream" and therefore sees no reason to "add them to Photo Stream". How do I get around this? Do I have to delete them from the Aperture copy of Photo Stream (they are not on either iPhone nor my iPad Mini) and then re-share them from the actual Aperture library?
    Thanks for any assistance.

First of all you need to be using the same AppleID on her iPhone and the Mac with Aperture in order to see the same "My Photo Stream". (I'm assuming you are or you wouldn't see any of the photos. But just in case...)
There is more than one Photo Stream. Your main Photo Stream is called "My Photo Stream". This is only visible to Macs and iOS devices signed into the same AppleID. You can have other "Shared Photo Streams" that you can share with other AppleIDs or even publicly using a URL.
To share a photo to Photo Stream, you select it in the browser and choose (right-click) Share->Photo Stream and a dialog will appear. Within this dialog there's a popup menu that determines where to share it. You can select "New Photo Stream" which will create a new Shared Photo Stream. Or if you've already created some Shared Photo Streams, they will appear in the menu and you can add to them.
There's an additional entry in that menu called "My Photo Stream". This doesn't appear if the photo you are sharing is already in the My Photo Stream location in Aperture. So you cannot add a photo in My Photo Stream to My Photo Stream if that is where it is already located in Aperture. If you select a photo from inside a project in Aperture you will then see the "My Photo Stream" entry in the Share->Photo Stream dialog.
    Solutions for you:
To get a photo back into My Photo Stream for other devices to see, go to the project where the photo lives and Share->Photo Stream and select "My Photo Stream". By default, Aperture imports all Photo Stream photos into a monthly project automatically. If you disabled this in preferences, you could manually import it using drag and drop from My Photo Stream to a project in the library sidebar.
To get a photo into a Shared Photo Stream, select it and choose Share->Photo Stream and select New Photo Stream from the popup menu. Give it a name and description. If your wife is using the same AppleID, it will automatically show up on her iPhone in the Photos->Photo Stream app. If she is using her own AppleID, you can share it with her by adding her AppleID in the share dialog.

  • Photo Stream on web

Hi, is there some place where I can see my photos from Photo Stream on the web? Or just on my iOS devices and Mac?

The URL for the public Photo Share is in the Info tray for that PS:
Click on that link which will take you to the PS web page where you can copy the full URL or Command (right) - click  on the link in iPhoto and select "Copy Link in the contextual menu.
