Will Photoshop Elements12 accept RAW files directly from Sony rx100ii

I already own Photoshop Elements 10 but it won't accept raw files from my recently purchased Sony rx100ii. My question is: If I upgrade to Photoshop Elements 12 does this program allow RAW downloads directly from this camera?

Hi,
According to the table Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras the RX100 II is supported by camera raw 8.2.
PSE 12 can be updated to include that version of camera raw. If you want, you could always check it out by downloading the trial version of PSE 12. The trial version can easily be converted to a full version if you decide to buy it.
The other alternative is to download & install the free Adobe DNG converter. Use that to convert your raw files to DNG format which can then be used by PSE 10.
DNG  Converter 8.5 (for non XP or Vista systems)

MAC: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5793
DNG Converter 8.3 (for XP or Vista systems)

    Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen!
My question concerns the impossibility to open RAW-files directly from the program Adobe Bridge. At the moment when you open a RAW-file from Adobe Bridge by double-clicking, RAW-file is opened only in Photoshop. In the settings Adobe Bridge - in "open RAW-files by double-clicking in Adobe Camera Raw» box is checked. When you try any changes in the settings Adobe Bridge system displays a message:
Bridge's parent application is not active. Bridge requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature.
The entire line of Adobe products on my computer updated to the latest updates. Previously, a family of products Adobe Photoshop on your computer is not set. Computer - PC, Windows 7 Enterprises.

I need to work with the RAW files on a SONY RX100III camera. I use Photoshop CS5 and a Mac operating system OSX 10.6. Is there an Camera RAW upgrade or an alternative program that works here?

You don't. Since you have an Intel Mac, buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store.

  • Lightroom 4 RC2 won't upload raw files direct from Canon 5d mkiii camera

I can upload to DPP and then transfer the files into Lightroom but when I try and upload directly Lightroom just says, "Files not Uploaded not recognised" and I get an option to save or cancel. Why?, with LR3 raw files from my old camera uploaded just fine, whats going on.

You have a new camera, it is not yet supported in ACR or Lightroom. Most likely it will be supported in the LR4.1 proper, but not yet.
I assume your old camera is a 5DII, that is supported as its an older model.
If you want to use LR4.1RCx and your Canon 5DIII, you will need to convert from CR2 to DNG with the Adobe DNG Converter
    link to the download
http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/extend.displayTab2.html and scroll down a screen or so to find the links for MAC or PC depending on your software.
This will work til Lightroom natively imports Canon 5DIII RAW images

  • PE11 will not import raw-file (.CR2) from Sony SX50.

PE11 with camera raw 7.2 will not import .CR2 from Sony SX50.
    (Camera not supported...)
Sony sx50 is on the list of supported cameras and .CR2 on the list of supported files!

    Hi,
ACR 7.3 should aplly to PSE 11 - it is on mine.
If you load the editor, go to the Help menu and see what it displays for About Plug-in -> Camera RAW - see which version is loaded.
There should be an updates option too, towards the bottom of the list - I'm on a PC so it may be different if you are on a MAC

  • Will Lightroom 5 accept RAW files?

I have a new Nex 6 and am a first time user of RAW files.  Can I upload Raw files from my camera directly?

Yes, there shouldn't be any problem.

  • How come I can no longer open a file direct from Lightroom 4 to PS 5.1??

I use to be able to open a RAW file directly from Lightroom to PS, make my edits and then have the edited file resaved to Lightroom but no longer. Why?

    Hi Ryan,
Would suggest you to try the suggestions mentioned here. Lightroom: Edit In External Editor does not work/function
Also, make sure your Lightroom and Photoshop both are up-to-date.
    Cheers!

  • How do you process a RAW file ARW (from a Sony a7R camera) in Elements 11?

How do you process a RAW file (ARW) from Sony a7R camera in Elements 11? Elements 11 does not seem to accept a ARW file.

    Doug2014
For editing of the Sony a7R raw image in Photoshop Elements Camera Raw need the following ingredients
    a. The Camera Raw version must support the camera that you are using, that is, the Sony a7R. Support for that camera did not come until Camera Raw version 8.3.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
    b. The version of Camera Raw must be supported by the version of Photoshop Elements. Camera Raw 8.3 is not supported until Photoshop Elements 12.
The choices would appear to be:
    a. Switch to Photoshop Elements 12
    or
    b. Use the DNG Converter to convert the Raw image to .dng
If all you have is Premiere Elements 11 which I do not think is the case, the Camera Raw plug-in allows you only to import the raw or dng image into the project for inclusion there - no Camera Raw dialog editing. But the same Camera Raw version - Camera Support - Premiere Elements version support still exists.
    Please review.
    Thanks.

  • I have CS4.  I just bought canon 70d.  Photoshop cannot read raw file.  How do I update so it has the support from this camera?

I have a canon 70d.  My CS4 photoshop will not read the camera raw file.  Help!!

Unfortunately, there are no camera raw updates that work with photoshop cs4 that will open the canon 70d files directly.
Which operating system are you using?
Since photoshop cs4 can only be updated to camera raw 5.7 and the canon 70 d requires at least camera raw 8.2, you could use the adobe dng converter to convert the
canon 70d files to dng copies which then photoshop cs4 should open.

  • I cannot open files directly from Lightroom 4 into Photoshop CS5.

I recently changed to new Macbook Pro and uploaded my Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS5.
Now when I go to 'Photo - Edit in - Photoshop' in Lightroom 4. Photoshop opens. But no image appears.
I've updated the Camera Raw reader but this hasn't helped.
Anyone got a suggestion that might help?
I have been making attempts to download updates for my Photoshop PS5 but after 4 attempts I get the same failed window asking me to try later.
    Anyone any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

It is important to understand how Lr works.
Lr displays photos only when they are imported into Lr. A (seeming) exception is for a Raw image that is edited in Photoshop and <Saved> to the default settings that you selected in external editing of Preferences in Lr. So if the default setting is for PSD and you just hit <Save> in Photoshop, a PSD will be created and automatically imported back into Lr so that it will be displayed there. So, this is not really an exception from the rule that an image has to be imported into Lr - it is an automatic import. This automatic import works only for the <Save> to the default settings;it does not work when you do a <Save As> and select a different file format than the default setting. In your case you did a <Save as> to create a JPG. This JPG will not be automatically imported into Lr, you have to import it manually - either through the Import Dialog or by <Synchronize Folder>.
Apart from that, and as JimHess said, why do you create a JPG in Photoshop from the same file? If you need a JPG, in Lr just export your PSD as a JPG when you need it.
I often need JPGs from my file, but I create them only when needed by exporting them to a folder of my choice. Usually I delete them after a while. I don't see a reason why I should have JPGs sitting around on my hard drive(s). They can be created again (from the Raw files or from PSD's/Tiffs) if the need arises.

  • Does Photoshop Elements support raw files from the Panasonic GH3 camera?

Does Photoshop Elements support raw files from the Panasonic GH3 camera?

Yes, if you have PSE 11 (not the mac app store version). You will need to go to Help>Updates in the editor to update ACR to 7.3.

  • I have iphoto '08 version with an imac osx 10.5.8. It will not read my RAW files  from my Nikon D800 - a very new model. How can I get it to read my RAW files?

my somewhat old imac osx 10.5.8 with iphoto '08 will not read my RAW files from my new Nikon D800 camera - a new model on the market( 5 months or so). How can I get iphoto to read my RAW  files?

iPhoto 08 would not read RAW files from that new a camera. You need to upgrade so you can get more up-to-date version of OS X and iPhoto. Another possiblity is see if iPhoto 11 will run on 10.5.8, if so you should update. You can also attempt to run Software Update and see if it finds a newer release of iPhoto 08 that supports newer RAW formats.

  • I can't open a jpg file directly from an Outlook email attachment into Photoshop CC.

When I try to open a jpg file directly from an Outlook email attachment into Photoshop CC I get this error message " Photyoshop CC.exe - Entry Point not found" with this string:

I don't think I have ever been able to open an image directly from Outlook into Photoshop.  What you can do, is drag from outlook to desktop, and then from desktop into Photoshop.  Or, if seeing the windows at the same time is a problem, drag onto desktop, then minimise everything, and drag onto the Photoshop icon (if you have a Photoshop shortcut on your desktop).

  • Photoshop CS6 will not read my raw files

I have both a Canon 5D Mark 3 and a Canon 70D and CS6 will not read my RAW files.  I have to convert them to DNG to work on them.  Suggestions?

According to this Adobe help link, the 5D Mark III had support since Camera Raw version 7.1 and the 70D had support since version 8.2, which CS6 should support fully. (CS6 supports up to the latest Camera Raw, which is version 8.7 as of this post.)
