Will Premiere Elements 10 projects work in Premiere Elements 11?

I'm asking because i have just made 3 video projects of my baby's first 3 years in Premiere Elements 10 on Windows 7. I want to buy a new Windows 8 PC soon. Can i just buy the new Premiere Elements 11 and install that on my new Windows 8 PC and use it to open my projects, or would there be compatibility problems and therfore should i just try and install my normal Premiere Elements 10 on the new Windows 8 PC?

I'm Paul and i started this thread.
I thought this information would be helpful for you.
I have bought a brand new Windows 8 PC. It's 64 bit. My previous computer was Windows 7 x32 bit. I have successfully installed Premiere Elements 10 on my new Windows 8 computer (but needed to install the 64 bit version of the program (same serial works)).
All my Premiere Elements 10 projects that were made on the Windows 7 pc open up just fine on the new Windows 8 pc, with no issues what so ever.
I would advise you to install Quicktime too as Premiere Elements needs that to be installed too. Also, i would strongly advise you to install a codec pack too, for the video codecs, or your new computer (& therefore Premiere Elements) could well have problems reading, opening and using certain video file types. If your Windows 8 pc is 64 bit then make sure you install 64 bit video codecs as well as the 32 bit versions. This is because Premiere Elements on a 64 bit system will need to use 64 bit video codecs.
Here's a link for some codec packs. Make sure you install the 32 bit version, and if you are using a 64 bit system then install the 64 bit video codec pack as well (find it at the bottom of the codec web page).

P.s if you installed the extra Premiere Elements content on your old installation then don’t forget to install that too on your new pc. You can download that by logging onto your online adobe account, finding your order, and downloading from there.

You should be able to open a Premiere Elements Project in Premiere Pro CC (Windows only), however, I tried it and found the results were not very acceptable for use as a backup. Can you try it first?

How do you want to integrate the program relates to getting the Elements Organizer Slideshow Editor slideshow into a Premiere Elements project in the .psess, non wmv, route using the Slideshow Editor's Output option "Edit With Premiere Elements Editor". When you go this route, the Premiere Elements option "Break Apart Elements Organizer Slideshow" command is available and enables you to do significant additional edits to the slideshow. This type of integration is typically available with integrated sets, such as 12/12, 11/11, etc.
If you are using the Elements Organizer as a storage place for organized videos, you could import them into any version of Premiere Elements version (provided the formats are supported by the version) from their computer hard drive save location.
Both Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 12 are standalone program programs that come with an Elements Organizer, one with Elements Organizer 11 and the other with Elements Organizer 12. If you have an dedicated bunch of organized videos in Elements Organizer 11, you can convert that catalog in Elements Organizer 12 that comes with Premiere Elements 12.

Photoshop Elements 11/Premiere Elements 11, same catalog database....if you can find a copy of Premiere Elements 11
Photoshop Elements 11/Premiere Elements 12, and look into converting the Elements Organizer 11 catelog with the videos once you open Elements Organizer 12 in your purchased Premiere Elements 12.

Premiere Elements project imported into Premiere Pro CS5.5 becomes unusable after first save

I have Premiere Pro CS5.5, and I have been trying for some time to successfuly edit an old project that was originally created in Premiere Elements (not sure which version--probably 7.0). It has the .prel extension. The project imports just fine, and I am able to edit it initially. However, if I save my new Premiere Pro project, close Pr and try to open the new project again, I get the "The project could not be loaded, it may be damaged or contain outdated elements." error message. I have tried many of the various project recovery suggestions people have made in this forum and elsewhere online, but none of them seem to work. I even opened the project in XML Wrench, but there were no errors returned when I clicked "check is well formed." Once I close the project after doing some initial editing, it is gone. Is this a known issue? Is there any way I can be able to edit the old project in Pr and save my work? Thanks!

Have you tried using the project manager to re-copy all elements and timeline etc into a totally new directory. I'm just curious to see if that would make a difference. I'd be intrested to see if when making a new project in this manor if it would because as you have stated the normal save methods haven't.

Ater exporting (publishing) a project worked in Premiere Elements 12 the output / published file effects are out of alignment. In this case it is my personal video. Inside PE 12 it shows that it is perfectly centered buy after publishing it .. it is out

1. What is the project preset for your project....I asked already
What did you (manually) or the project (automatically) set as the project preset which is supposed to match the properties of the source media?
(What are the details under Edit Menu/Project Settings/General...even if they look grayed out?)
Your project preset and the properties of what you bring into the project need to match.
If you are bringing in 720 x 480 4:3, then your project preset should be NTSC DV Standard.
If you are bringing in 1920 x 1080 16:9, then your project preset is one that is described for 1920 x 1080.
2. Where you are probably getting into problems, is trying to export a 4:3 import as a 16:9 end product or
trying to export a 16:9 import as a 4:3 end product.
If you confirm project preset, the properties of the source video, and what kind of export you want, I can fill
in the details of your export settings so that you can complete the task.

Will this graphics card work with Premiere CS5.5

We're running a Mac Pro 2 x 2.93 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 32GB Ram, 10.6.8 and we're looking to move from Apple's FCP to Premiere CS5 but noticed in Adobe's systems requirements on graphic cards the following:
Adobe-certified GPU card for GPU–accelerated performance; visit www.adobe.com/go/premiere_systemreqs for the latest list of supported cards
Here's the list of cards for Mac:
GeForce GTX 285 (Windows and Mac OS)
Quadro FX 4800 (Windows and Mac OS)
Quadro 4000 (Windows and Mac OS)
I don't see any ATI cards and we have a top of the line ATI Radeon HD 4870 this the work station. (link of card specs below)

I agree with Tom. If you're in the midst of a big project, and you have the choice, don't upgrade until you're done with your project.
While rendering time in 3.5 may or may not be faster than in 3.0 it won't be a whole lot faster. Rendering is more dependent on the processor and RAM than it is on the software.
As for the versioning, 3.5 is fine on both Intel and PPC Macs, it's a universal version. The big deal is that 3.5 has fully keyframeable effects and solved some capturing problems that cropped up in 10.4.9

I am getting a bit concerned about what is happening in your situation. Yesterday you posted your question in at least two different forums, one of them being here in the Premiere Elements Forum.
Don't Have Serial Number for Premiere, Only Photoshop?
Wherever you posted, the reply was to contact Adobe via its Adobe Chat. It is the only one who can sort out this matter for you.
In the thread cited above I offered to help you with the difficulties that you were having visualizing the Adobe Chat in its web page. I was waiting for your follow up on that in the above thread. Instead, I find your same question in a new Adobe Premiere Elements Forum thread this afternoon with no refer the prior threads or prior recommendations given you.
I will also mention again...when you buy the Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements bundled in one packaging and with installation files for each on the same installation disc, each program has its own serial number. The Photoshop Elements serial number does not work for Premiere Elements and vice versa. The serial numbers are on labels on a box which houses the installation disc envelope(s). So, if you purchased both programs and found the Photoshop Elements serial number, then the Premiere Elements serial number should be in a label right underneath the label with the serial number for Photoshop Elements. I recall writing this in your yesterday's thread on this matter.
The moderator will no doubt be along shortly to close or delete this thread. So, just in case, please bookmark your yesterday's thread cited above so that we can continue this communication which is trying to help you.

BNN, even though I understand what KT is saying, your thought resonates with mine. When it comes to building and maintaining my website, I see myself more as a photographer than as a web designer. Hence, even though Apple may not be actively developing (and we are guessing on this one, arent we) iWeb, the existing functionality should do plenty of good to me for next couple years at least.
That said, they released a point update a few days back and with the whole cloud thing building momentum and mobile me going for free, why would Apple want to pull the plug on such a fantastic product?

Premiere Elements 4 works great in Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit computer. I have been there and am doing that along with other versions of the program on the same computer.
Do not go to the desktop icon for Premiere Elements 4 and set a compatibility setting in the Properties.
Just make sure that you are running the program from a User Account with Administrative Privileges and perhaps also with a Run As Administrator (right click desktop icon, select Run As Administrator). Latest version of QuickTime remains a must.
Does Premiere Elements 4 meet your video editing needs, feature-wise and otherwise? If so, stay with it. If not, explore the latest version 12 via a tryout from Adobe before any thoughts of purchase.

Add On...If you need a computer environment with greater resources for your Premiere Elements workflows, then you need to look at specifically Premiere Elements 10, 11, or 12 specifically on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.

Premiere Elements 11 will not open Projects

I had to rebuild my Win 7 PC. Now Premiere Elements 11 will not open Projects saying that the file types are not supported. It will not open raw DV files either.

Along with Premiere Elements 11 on Windows 7 (presumed 64 bit), do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed? Are you running Premiere Elements 11 as Run As Administrator or from a User Account with Administrative Privileges?
Can you open a new project?
When you rebuilt your Window 7, did the source media that went into the existing projects remain in the same save locations with the same file names as before the rebuild?
How are you opening these project.prel files that I am understanding that you created in version 11 before the Windows 7 rebuild?
What is the nature of these "raw DV files" to which you refer? Are these DV AVI standard or widescreen files from a capture firewire into the Premiere Elements Capture Window?
Let us start here and then we can decide what next.
