Will PSE 8 support ACR 8.3

I just got a nikon D610 and nikkor 16-35 lens. PSE8 won't recognize the nef (raw) files.
I understand that ACR 8.3 will handle the D610 nef files.
What I don't know is whether PSE8 will work if I upgrade to ACR 8.3 or greater.
Does anyone have any idea? (just trying to save a few shekels here)
Is ACR 8.3+ installed in PSE 8 DOA and I just need to upgrade to the newest PSE?
OR should I try it and if it screws up PSE 8, then buy an upgrade to the latest PSE ?12 or ?13?

What I don't know is whether PSE8 will work if I upgrade to ACR 8.3 or greater.
No, ACR 8.3 is only compatible with Elements 12 and later
Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
Is ACR 8.3+ installed in PSE 8 DOA and I just need to upgrade to the newest PSE?
Your options:
Upgrade to Elements 12, or
Download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all D610 Raw files to DNGs then edit the DNGs in Elements 8

  • Will PSE 11 open RAW D7100 files in ACR without having to convert to DNG?

I have a D7100 and PSE10 -- I learned (after the fact...) that PSE 10 can not open D7100 RAW files. I have tried using the DNG converter but do not want to have to do this. I also purchased Lightroom 5 in ordert to solve the problem, but again (after the fact...) learned that LR5 doesn't work with VISTA, which is that my desktop has.  Getting quite frustrated, I know mostly my fault for not researching enough.... but I really just want to open the D7100 RAW files directly in ACR. Will PSE 11 support D7100 RAW files without having to convert to DNG first?

Suggest you download the trial version using the link below and try it free for 30 days. Also bear in mind that PSE12 is due out soon. So you could run another trial of that product when available, assuming Vista support.
After downloading and installing the trial you will need to update the ACR plug-in to get support for the D7100.
Launch Full Edit (Expert Mode in PSE11) and on the menu click:
    Help >> Updates
Install version 7.4 of ACR and your NEF files should open, with one proviso. Ensure your raw files have not passed through older versions of Nikon Transfer/ Nikon software; only the software that shipped with your camera.

Does PSE 12 and PSE 13 support Panasonic Lumix Fz200 raw files?

    Yes.
See that FAQ: Photoshop Elements FAQ List

  • Does PSE 12 support Canon 70D RAW files?

Does anyone know for sure if PSE 12 supports Canon 70D RAW files? Thanks.

Sorry but I do not understand what XP or Vista has to do with my question. Stated another way, my question is, does the version of ACR that comes with the version of PSE 12 that is available for purchase at this moment definitely support Canon 70D RAW files?
FWIW, I am running Win 7 Pro 64 bit so PSE 12 will run on my system.
    Thanks.

  • I have a d70 canon camera, will Elements 12 support the CR2 files it makes in the raw exposures?

I have a d70 canon camera, will Elements 12 support the CR2 files it makes in the raw exposures?

    Hi,
I assume you mean the Canon 70D - that should be supported by ACR 8.2
If you have PSE 12, you will need to update it by using Help -> Update.
If you don't have PSE 12, the best thing is to download and install the trial version. You will still need to update it. It will function as the full product for 30 days so you can make sure it reads your raw files.

  • PSE 11 and ACR version

I run PSE 11 and ACR Ver. 7.4.
Also, have LR 4 and have yet upgraded to LR 5.
My question is this:  Adobe indicates Camera Raw 8.1 is available for PSE 11. I have been checking Help>Updates and am informed that this Camera Raw update (8.1) is not available. I keep getting the message that PSE 11 is up-to-date as checked (with Camera Raw 7.4).   Can somebody clarify this - is this update available for PSE 11 or is Adobe's statement incorrect?
Next question - what version of ACR includes the adjustment tools?  Is that part of 8.1?
Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Yes, I know that Adobe has put some statement on at least one of their web pages that ACR 8.1 is available for PSE, but I don't think that's correct. I don't think ACR 8.1 will work in PSE until PSE12 is released ... but ... I don't really know for sure.
Next question - what version of ACR includes the adjustment tools?
What adjustment tools do you mean?
Some adjustment tools in ACR will NEVER work in PSE (for example, the adjustment brush and gradient filter, and probably the new Upright features as well)

  • FAQ: What OS does Photoshop Elements run on, or Will PSE run on my computer?

There are many different combinations of Photoshop Elements (PSE) and the Operating Systems (OS) it is supported on. Here is a table to help identify which versions of PSE are supported on which versions of Windows and Macintosh. By "supported", we mean that the application is designed and thoroughly tested to work on. Just because a platform is "unsupported" does not necessarily mean that it will not work. What it does mean is that you operate the application on that platform at your own risk. In most cases, a version of PSE is "unsupported" on a specific platform simply because it was released before that version of the OS.

System requirements | Adobe Premiere Elements
Regarding what versions will or will not work on certain operating systems...I would question even your Photoshop Elements FAQ reference.
What Adobe has not tested is not the same the impression that the program does not work on a certain operating system it has designated as " - ".
I have not seen a Premiere Elements document comparable to this FAQ document that you present for Photoshop Elements.
    I have found no problem installing and running Premiere Elements 4, 7, 8.0/8.0.1,  9.0/9.0.1, 10, 11, 12/12.1, 13/13.1 on Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit or Windows 8.1 64 bit.
The version updates, if available, should be used to give special obvious features as well as other less obvious ones.
In the case of the current version, Premiere Elements 13/13.1, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and OSX 10.7 are not supported. Interestingly, I have found that you can
download the Premiere Elements 13 tryout from Adobe to a Windows XP computer, but you cannot install it.
Also, on a comparative basis, Premiere Elements version 32 versus 64 bit application
    Windows
Premiere Elements 10, 11, 12, and 13 are 64 bit applications only when they are specifically on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit computer.
Premiere Elements earlier then 10 are 32 bit applications whether they are run on Windows 32 bit computer or Windows 64 bit computer.
    Mac
Premiere Elements 9 was the first version to be offered for Mac as well as Windows.
Premiere Elements Mac was not available as a 64 bit application until version 11 - and with Mac 64 processor.
    Miscellaneous
Premiere Elements as a 32 bit application will block you from importing still images beyond a certain total pixel count.
Lots of other details, but let us start with these.
Please let us know if you need clarification on any of the above.

  • When will Camera Raw support .arw files for the new Sony RX-100?

I have Photoshop Elements 9 and just purchased the RX-100. Currently the .arw raw files the camera produces are not supported in Camera Raw. When will Adobe be supporting this format?

No one can tell you when, but the new RX100 has support in the beta of Camera Raw 7.2 RC for Photoshop CS6 so I would guess that PSE11 will either ship with or could soon after be updated to ACR 7.2 with RX100 support.
PSE10 is the current version, but in the past, a new version of Elements has come out about this time of year so sometime in the next couple months.
What you can do right now is download the beta of the DNG Converter 7.2 RC from Adobe Labs which will convert a folder of ARW files to DNG files which can then be processed with older versions of Camera Raw including what comes with PSE10 or PSE9.
You could also download and use the beta for Lightroom 4.2 RC from on Adobe Labs to work with your files natively until the beta expires by the end of October, but before then you’d probably have a new version of Elements that would work.  If you go the LR 4.2 RC route, you’d want to save your changes to XMP sidecars in LR so you could read them using ACR in Elements, later.
    Betas/RCs are available at: http://labs.adobe.com/

  • When will Adobe LR5 support Fujifilm XT1?

When will Adobe LR5 support Fujifilm XT1?

To avoid confusion and complaints Adobe could have just not released ACR/DNGC 8.4 until LR 5.4/LR6 was ready, but they did want to get feedback on the new camera conversions from at least some of their users.
I would hope that Adobe is taking more time with Lightroom so that there is just one installable version of LR that can be licensed either with a serial number or with logging into CC, so that we don’t have to repeatedly answer the same question, every day, of why there is no LR offered for install after someone has just been purchased the PS+LR bundle, or why there LR is still asking for a serial number when CC doesn’t use serial numbers.

  • Is it true that After March 30, 2015, AOL will no longer support your ability to sign in to the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store or did I just receive a phishing email?

I just received the following email.....Is this legit? Makes no sense.
    Dear iTunes Customer,
Our records indicate that you have been using your AOL Username to sign in to the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store.
After March 30, 2015, AOL will no longer support your ability to sign in to the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store. In order to continue using store features, including the ability to access your previously purchased content, you must transition from signing in with your AOL Username to signing in with an Apple ID.
To make this transition, simply sign in once more with your AOL Username to iTunes on your Mac or PC. You will automatically be taken through a few short steps to complete the process.
When the process is complete, your new Apple ID will allow you to continue to purchase and download music, movies, TV shows, apps, books, and more. Additionally, your Apple ID will allow you to access other Apple services, such as iCloud and the Apple Online Store.
This transition does not affect any AOL services you may be using with your AOL Username.
AOL Usernames which have not been transitioned to Apple ID will permanently lose access to the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store after March 30, 2015. Apple will be unable to provide support for AOL Usernames which are not transitioned by this date.
To learn more about this transition, visit support.apple.com/kb/HT204268.
    Regards,
    The iTunes Store team

The link that appears in the copy in the OP does not go to an Apple site, it is something to the effect of newitunes.com, whereas the text tells you it is an Apple support document.
However, if you take the text of the support document listed, I put it in my browser and it does lead to a legit Apple Support document about coverting. Convert your AOL Username to an Apple ID - Apple Support  Seems this needs to be done by March 31, 2015, as AOL will no longer allow users to use their AOL identification.

  • I have 2 MacBooks at home that back-up to a Time Capsule.  I'd like to buy an external Thunderbolt drive at work to have as an additional back-up. Will Time-Machine support autobackups to 2 different devices?

I have 2 MacBooks (1 Air and 1 Pro) at home that back-up to a Time Capsule.  I'd like to buy an external Thunderbolt drive at work to have as an additional back-up (so that were there to be a fire/water damage/etc) I would not lose both the computer and the backup.
Will Time-Machine support autobackups to 2 different devices?
I'd like for it to be able to backup to an external Thunderbolt drive attached to my thunderbolt display when I dock the MacBook Air to it.
Does anyone know if this will occur automatically, or if I will have to manually select backup disk?
    thanks

Yes, with Mountain Lion you can do this, but I will leave the explanation to Apple Support Communities contributor Pondini:

  • When will Podcast app support playlists?

Anyone know if the Podcasts app will eventually support playlists since apparently the Music app will no longer support podcasts in iOS 6?  I like watching video podcasts on my iPhone at the gym (esp sine the music app on the iPad won't do video playlists), and do not want to have to keep choosing a new podcast whilst working out.

I should note that there is a list view in the podcast app, but for some reason it is in reverse chronological order (newest first).  This order won't work for die hard podcast listeners.  The list should be in chronological order, otherwise you end up having really old podcasts linger at the bottom of the list.
In my original post I say my list is in reverse chron order, but I mean chronological order.
In iTunes you can go in and change Media Kind from podcast to music as a work around.  It's not ideal though, becuase then the track gets moved out of the Podcast section in itunes and you lose feautures like keep only unplayed episodes and keep last x episodes etc.  Again one could probably write an applescript, toggling the media kind depending on play count, but seriously, what a hack.
Please, please pretty please add playlists to the podcast app so that it uses the smart playlist from iTunes.

  • Currently running Snow Leopard with iWeb will Mountain Lion support it?

Currently running Snow Leopard but wish to upgrade to Mountain Lian to support new iphone etc. Only problem being that I've just set up a small online page using iweb through an ftp server. will Mountain Lion support any changes that I make to my pages and can it then publish trhough the outside server?

iWeb is supported in Mountain Lion. That said you need not upgrade to ML to support new iPhone 5. What OS are you using? All you need is iTunes 11.

  • Will mountain lion support safari 5.1?

will mountain lion support safari 5.1?

I've done the SMC reset as well as the PRAM and NVRAM, no dice.
After going through Optoma's support just to make sure, it couldn't be anything with the projectors I called Apple and spoke with a Senior Advisor. Due to the fact that the VGA splitter works with my mid-2011 iMac, but not with the 2008 iMac his best guess is that the error must have something to do with the handshake protocols that allows the iMac to detect that there is something attached to the external display. Unfortunately there is no way to 'brute-force' the iMac to send video without receiving a handshake confirmation. The "Detect Displays" option only makes the iMac look for a display, but it won't send the signal without a response.
The option at this point is to either find a different splitter and try that, or downgrade the iMac to Leopard (which requires a full wipe and re-install.
Not the solution I had hoped to find, especially when the iMac, VGA splitter, projectors, and presentation software are individually listed as Mountain Lion compatable.
