Will recording in HD mean it can only play in hd dvd players?

im looking into getting a sony hdr-hc7 and i was wondering if i record my video in hd then make it into a DVD using iDVD if it would only be able to play in HD dvd players and if you had to burn the video to HD dvd discs? does the HD mean itll be better quality than regular minidv but u can still play it only a regular tv. or will you have to have an hd tv if u want to see what you recorded in HD. so i guess im asking 2questions. one about the HD DVD and then the other by just hooking up the camera to a tv. thanks

Well, most HDV cameras out there have the ability to convert to SD (standard definition) as you capture to your hard drive. I have a Sony FX1 and it has this. Not sure about the HC7, but probably. You can look in the manual under downconvert or something of the like. Its a setting in the menu system of the camera.
Usually what I do is shoot everything in HDV and then use the downconvert system to edit as I rarely have anyone requesting HD for the final piece. You could skip capturing SD and capture HD and then edit and export your piece back to tape (for viewing on an HDTV) or out to an HD version of quicktime (for web or computer viewing).
To put something out to HD DVD, you need an HD DVD recorder and blank media (both extremely expensive whether you go with Blu-Ray or HD DVD). Oh, and you will also need some High Def DVD mastering software.
Anyway, there's my 2 cents.

Error Messages When Burning / Disk only plays in certain DVD players

When burning most all of my DVD's in DVD Studio Pro, after all of the encoding in the burn process and the program starts the initialization, I get a Media Error Calibration Error message. When I retry to burn, everything seems fine. But, my DVD's only play in some DVD players. Others say unreadable disc. Any ideas?

Many times, media can cause your problem, I use Maxell myself, (never had any compatibility issues. Here's a URL to a site that rates the quility of many different kinds of media and there reliability.

If VLAN 1 is the native VLAN, then does that mean thier can only be one?

Let us start by being clear that the concept of native vlan is related to a particular interface doing trunking. If you have two interfaces doing trunking it is quite possible that the first one would have vlan 1 as native and the other one might have vlan 2 as native.
On a particular interface doing trunking it is quite true that there can be only a single native vlan for that trunk.

Have you authorized the Computer to your Apple ID?
If not, sign on to iTunes.
Then got to the Store menu option at the top of the screen (CTL+B if it is not showing), and click on it to display the dropdown, and select Authorize this computer.
If that doesn't work, then sign on your Dad's iTunes ID and repeat the Authorization process.

Your drive was used with a PC and formatted NTFS which is proprietary Microsoft format.
You need to install a third party program that will read the NTFS format.
There is various software from PARAGON, Tuxera and NTFS-3G
When you get the data off and have verified it to be good, reformat the drive either HFS+ for Mac use only, or for Mac and PC use then MSDOS (FAT32) for under 4GB files (best) or exFAT (for larger than 4GB files) is proprietary and Microsoft is appling for a patent, which would likely mean OS X won't be allowed to read it anymore without a licensing fee and you'l have to pay another third party software company to read the format, just like NTFS is.
The less you have to rely upon third party sources to read your drives the better, this way if you have a issue and need to read the drive on another machine you don't need the software, and a internet connection and a credit card and...and...and...

Can only insert 1 cd/dvd between sleeps.

My superdrive can only accept one cd/dvd during each session. After I eject the first cd/dvd, it will immediately eject any new media as soon as its inserted, even if its the same cd/dvd. The only way around this at the moment is to sleep the mac and wake it up. Then I can insert a new cd.
Has anyone encountered this problem before and found a solution to it? I have searched the forums and havent found this issue before.

Yes I had the same provblem and thought I was going mad. I even thought I would have to ring apple customer care.
Last time I rang them they answered within the first two rings, so I hung up, I thought I had the wrong number.

currently only video from youtube app or ipod app is supported.

Take the following steps:
1) while connected to wifi, toggle off then back on the Show All Music and iTunes Match options shown in my original post. Important: I did this step before, but wasn't connected to wifi, and my music disappeared. Subsequently, I connected to wifi and turned off and then back on those options and everything came back though it was grayed out and my only option was to download music.
2) To get streaming over cellular back, go into Settings>General>Cellular and scroll down to the "Use Cellular Data for:" options and make sure the iTunes option is set to 'On'
The above steps will bring back the streaming capability which seemed to go away when you update to 6.1. It didn't ACTUALLY go away, but something about the update toggled off the iTunes option in step 2 above.
I did a final test by turning off wifi, opening Music app and selecting a song. It played successfully without downloading! Crossing my fingers, but I think I'm good to go!

It has been reported by other uses that RealPlayer is having some compatibility problems with Firefox. I believe this is mostly notorious with RealPlayer Plugin Record Plugin, but it may be the same thing here. Please contact RealPlayer developers for support.

What do you mean 'only play and not buy' ? If you mean that a song has 'play' against it in the store then that implies that you've already bought it and it's in your iTunes library

Restoring from backup will result in the iPod being like it was when the backup was made. If you restore via iTunes, you have to have all the synced media in your iTunes library since those are not included in the iPod backup.

Try doing a full reset. otherwise it sounds like you might want to walk it into the nearest Apple Store and get an opinion there.
