Will Recovery media work for similar laptops?

I have a laptop that has a hard drive that broke.  Another family member has a similar laptop but it is a different model. It looks like both of them probably have the same software so will recovery media work for both of them? The Two laptops are
L775-S7309
and
P775-S7320

Recovery media will work ONLY on exactly the same models.

  • Will this battery work for my laptop?

I have a laptop from like 2009. It's going to crap and I recently got a new one, but it still runs, albeit slowly on startup and everything, and I think it's because of the battery, as it says "Consider Replacing Battery" and when I unplug the charger it just shuts off, and it only charges to 51%. So what I want to know is will this battery work for my laptop? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007W1QBO4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AF7ENLFPN87DK
The battery right now says "Replace with HP Spare 593550-001 and says 2010/10. This battery says 593553-01, but it looks almost identical to my current battery. So will this get the job done?

    Hi,
What is the model of your computer ? (HP 2000 is a series, not a model). Please check the compatible list:
       http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=593553-001
By the way, slow booting up may not due to weak/faulty battery. Can it boot faster using AC ?
    Regards.

  • HT201335 Will AirPlay mirroring work for watching TV episodes from the Internet?

Will AirPlay mirroring work for watching TV episodes from a television network's website that we have up on the iPad/iPhone/computer or is it just for iTunes?
We're contemplating canceling our cable and using Apple TV solely.  if it will do that, it sounds like a good option for us.

If your Mac is 2011 or newer and you install OS X Mountain Lion on it, you will be able to mirror your screen to the AppleTV. DVD playback won´t work.
    Airplay Mirroring compatible Macs:
    iMac (Mid 2011 or newer)
Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer)
MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer)
    More info: http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
As for your iOS devices it depends on the player app being used to play the video. Some players will let you stream the video to your AppleTV others won't. For example, the YouTube player will allow it, but the Netflix player won`t.

I brought a iPhone (A1429) unlocked, sent it as a gift to my mate in Arizona, she is on the Verizon Network which in CDMA Will this phone work for her or have I just wasted $900 :/ I have done all the research and to me it looks like it should work.
Can anyone give me a difintive answer please.

Yes but I have brought the A1429 where as the information you provided states that it's the A1428.
The unlocked iPhone 5 is model A1428. For details on LTE support see www.apple.com/iphone/LTE. The unlocked iPhone will not work with CDMA carriers such as Verizon Wireless or Sprint. Learn more about the unlocked iPhone
And Apple websight also states that the A1429 is both CDMA and GSM here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3939#iPhone5

  • System Recovery that worked for me.

I've read soooooooo many complaints about Toshiba purchasers being unable to restore their laptops with their XP Recovery Discs.  The usual answer from the experts on this site is that you need a new disc or your DVD drive is defective.  Of course, you can find out if the latter problem is the culprit by putting in any CD/DVD with information on it  then go to Windows Explorer and see if you can access anything on it.  If you can't or if the only thing you can do is boot to the BIOS, then this might work for you.
For some reason a lot of these Recovery Discs simply won't start without first formatting the hard disc--I've found this to be the case with Toshiba and Gateway products.  Of course, if you can't format the hard disc with the Recovery Disc then the only thing to do is this:
Find yourself a full or upgrade version of Windows XP.  I haven't tried it, but you can probably also use 98, ME, 2000--whatever.  Start your computer, hit the F1 key or whatever it takes to get to the BIOS.  When your in you're in your BIOS, change the boot order from Hard Disc to DVD.  Hit the Save key which will reboot your computer.  At the Toshiba logo, hit the eject button on your DVD drive.  Put in the XP disc I mentioned earlier.  You should get to the start of the install process.  If so, go through the entire install process and when you get to the format hard disc part, let it rip.  Once the format process if finished, hit the eject button on your DVD drive.  Put in the Recovery Disc that came with your computer.  Reboot it, keeping the boot order the same (DVD first).  The install procedure of your Restore Disc should start automatically.  If it doesn't, then this procedure won't work for you.
However, I've found this procedure works on my Toshiba laptop, more than a few Gateway laptops and even a Gateway PC.
Although I haven't tried it, you can probably do the format procedure with a custom XP boot disc that you can get off the web.  And if you can't do it either way yet have access to a floppy drive (USB or built into your computer), go to this Microsoft web site to down load an fabricate a set of floppies that will do the same job: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310994
Whatever you do, don't take the expert's advice on this forum to immediately order another Recovery Disc AND don't assume that your DVD drive doesn't work.  Probably neither is the case and you'll save a lot of money if it isn't.
Try this procedure first--you've got nothing to lose if you can't get past the BIOS.

Look.  You're talkin' Geekdom here, buddy.  I'm just trying to solve a problem for the average Joe whose eyes gloss over at the mention of ISO's.  Toshiba tech support costs $25 for the first call.  I don't know what a copy of a Recovery disc costs, but it's probably in the same range.  If you go out an buy a USB/floppy dirve it will cost you about $20. And when you're through with the install, you've got yourself a new toy.  When you're done with Toshiba tech support, you MAY get a solution.  You MAY not.  If you buy a Restore disc, it may solve the problem.  Maybe it won't.  Get it?
I just bought a brand-new Intel MB that comes with a SATA/RAID floppy.  What do you suppose I'm going to use to install the driver?
By the way, you got a better solution?
If the computer has a floppy drive then the F6 method will work.  I've used it numerous times on systems that have one.  But the problem is that laptops don't have floppy drives these days, USB floppy drives don't always work for the installing SATA drivers via the F6 method, and most users don't know how to make an F6 floppy disk to use.  And many laptops don't even provide the files to create an F6 SATA driver floppy.  It's a lot easier to burn a CD from an ISO that is readily available than it is to create a F6floppy disk when you don't have the preconfigured disk file and need to create one from scratch.
Now why are we arguing anyway?  Both methods will work.  It's just a matter of which will be more appropriate for the specific situation.  I'm not attacking you, your method, or your manhood.  Now let's just drop this as it's not productive and is actually going to confuse some of the people that would potentially benefit from these methods.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

  • Will Adobe CS6 work on a laptop with screen resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels?

I'm looking at this laptop -
    HP ProBook 15.6-Inch Laptop 2.1 GHz AMD A8-5550M Processor, 8GB DDR3L, 500GB HDD, Windows 7 Professional and a 7200 RPM drive.
All the specs are great except for the screen resolution, which Adobe says should be 1280X900.  So I would love to know if CS6 would still work on this laptop.
    Thanks for your help!!
    Dalevideo

Not only is the screen resolution below minimum requirements, the rest is also very underpowered and slow for CS6.
If CS6 installs, you will not be able to see critical parts of the user interface, making you work in the blind.

  • Will this setup work for extending my network?

I want to be able to control which piece of hardware I connect to. I have and airport extreme currently being extended by a airport express so we can get a signal in the far part of our backyard. The problem is when going through the airport express the bandwidth drops by 50%, and since I can't specify what to connect to I need another solution, so will the following work?
    1) airport extreme connects to Internet
    2) airport express connect wirelessly to airport extreme but doesn't allow wireless clients.
    3) airport express connects via Ethernet to another router which I setup as a different wireless network (different ip range etc)
    4) then in backyard we can use the second wireless network
    5) when inside we can connect directly to the airport express
    is this possible?
    Thanks

Experiment a bit with the placement of the AirPort Express.
It's natural that the signal strength (and speed) will fall off with distance from the wireless router, so the trick is to place the AirPort Express at a position where it will:
    1) Receive as strong a signal as possible (because it can only extend what it receives).
    2) Extend the signal strength to the area you want to cover
If there were no obstructions between the main router and the area you want to extend to, the ideal position for the Express would be half way between them. That way, the Express gets as strong a signal as possible to extend the signal.
Depending on your layout, the Express may need to be even closer to the main router....or, more than half the distance, maybe up to 2/3.
If you power down the Express and take some measurements with the laptop, you will see how the wireless signal strength and speed fall off with distance. If you locate the Express too far away from the main router, it won't have enough signal to work with for best performance.
It's all a series of compromises. You never gain something without giving up something else in return. It's possible that the 50% loss in bandwidth in the remote areas is the best that can be attained at your location. Extending using wireless only always brings some loss of performance.
Finally, if you really want the "best" bandwidth performance from a wireless network, the only way to do it is connect the Express to the AirPort Extreme using ethernet. This preserves the bandwidth on the network much more effectively than any other method of extending.

  • Time capsule works for pc laptop, but can't connect new ipad?

Got my new ipad and find that I cannot connect it to the Time Capsule even though the Time Capsule connection works for a pc laptop.  I tried my ereader which used to connect and also will not connect.  I was on the phone for a couple hours with Apple Care, but now that it appears to be a Time Capsule problem they can't help.  So frustrated, just want to get to my ipad!  Thanks for any help.  Please be gentle, as I need plain talk, I'm not that tech savvy.

If you reset the router , it will come back to factory default settings and your laptop will get disconnected.
I think you need to check the wireless settings.
Open the setup page of the router. Go to Wireless tab. Check the network name. Go to Wireless security tab. Check the wireless security settings and make sure that you have the correct network key. Go to Wireless MAC filter sub tab and make sure that it is disabled.
Try to connect to the wireless network again on IPAD.

    1. Hold down Win key then press Q
    2. Type recovery in the search field. Select Recovery Manager from the list. Allow the action to continue, if prompted.
    3. Click Recovery Media Creation.
    4. Follow the on-screen instructions to continue.

I am using the VIP for the external adapter for the NLB and going to connect it through the MX record will it work for the incoming mail flow to the Exchange 2010 and external mail flow.
Is that right what i am doing please suggest. Thanks in Advance!

    Hi,
Based on my experience, the MX record contains the fully qualified domain name of the messaging server that’s responsible for accepting messages for the domain.
Do you want to configure the TMG server as a secure SMTP relay server? Did you mean that the external DNS server point to TMG’s external IP for the MX rcord and the internal Exchange server is using TMG’s internal IP address as the default gateway? Did you
install any exchange role on the TMG server?
I am sorry to say that I am not quite sure of your deployment, I would appreciate it if you can share your network topology and configuration.
    Best regards,

Can I also use a displayport to HDMI to connect my Mac tower to the Matrox as well as a HDMI to DisplayPort to connect the Matrox to the monitor or will this ruin or downgrade the signal?
Or is there another card that I could use that is simple to install?
    Thanks for you help!

    >Can I also use a displayport to HDMI to connect my Mac tower to the Matrox as well as a HDMI to DisplayPort to connect the Matrox to the monitor or will this ruin or downgrade the signal?
No.  The Matrox MXO2 line connects one of three ways: PCIe slot in MacPro, Express34 for MacBook Pro, and Thunderbolt (additional cost for the adapter).  If you have a MacPro..you put the MXO2 adapter card into one of the PCIe slots, then connect that to the MXO2 box.
