If you do "Erase All Content and Settings" then yes it would delete Photos.
If you do "Reset All Settings" it should not.
Having said that, I operate under the assumption that my photos and contacts (the two things I care about on my phone) can be lost at any time due to a variety of causes such as a lost phone or a hardware problem (things break) or a software glitch. I therefore insure that in addition to a backup to iCloud, photos are copied to a computer as described in http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083 and that my contacts are synced to a computer via iCloud.

There are many threads on this forum regarding speaker not working issues. You might try searching them. Hopefully you'll find the answer you need.

To minimise loss... Connect to iTunes on the computer you Usually Sync with and Restore from the most recent Backup...

To restore the MacBook Pro to factory settings:
1. Make a backup of your files because everything will be erased.
2. Insert the Snow Leopard disc and press the C key while your Mac is starting to start from the DVD.
3. Go to Utilities menu > Disk Utility, select Macintosh HD on the sidebar, go to Erase tab and erase the disk.
4. Close Disk Utility and install Mac OS X -

Windows can not identify that an iOS device is in recovery mode. Only iTunes can identify that.

I received an iPad for Christmas that was ex-display, however I am unable to restore it to factory settings using the iTunes restore......any suggestions??
If it's a store's demo model then as far as I know only Apple can potentially change it's iOS version to a non-demo version - you've tried Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings directly on the iPad ?

Hi Jen. My daughter just compleated her nursing program and is now working as a full time nurse. Focus and study hard and soon you will be there too. Now to the problem at hand. I have the same problem. I gave up on it and satisfied myself with my iPod without the upgrade. Reason being I've read so many posts of people having problems after the upgrade. But I'm sure other factors are involved. Nevertheless here is the fix most say works to solve the problem: What ever virus protection you have installed on your computer, disable it. Then try to install the update. After that enable the protection. I had Kaspersky, and it does it's job well. The thinking is, the virus protection is blocking the upgrade. Hope this works. Charlie

I been have issues with my HP. My DVD/CD use to show up once in a while. But lately it MIA. I bought a replacement, no difference. My card reader now disables my entire computer so I stopped trying to read my camera sim card. Now my HP Web Cam is showing not found. So I went thru the entire process of recovering to the factory install, but it appears that my registry was not cleaned and reinstalled. I confirmed this by looking and finding traces of software that was previuosly install. I believe this is where all of my issues stem from.
Since the restore process (F11) doesn't delete my registry during the reformatting process. What are the chances that I could delete some, most of or all of the entries in the registry manually and than restart the laptop and still hope the F11 function still works.Hi:
More than likely the motherboard is shot.
You are describing all of the symptoms of the common issues with the dv6000/dv9000 motherboards (DVD disappears, card reader wrecks havoc).
The next thing to disappear will probably be your wireless card, then the audio and then the video will quit working. -

IPod Mini won't restore back to factory settings
I have a iPod Mini and ever since I downloaded iTunes 7 I've had a few problems.
The new iTunes won't let me restore my settings. When I try to do it I get an error message that says the iPod couldn't be restored "An unknown error occurred (1428)."
Another problem is that I have no songs/podcasts on my Mini but it says I only have 16.1 MB of free space. I've already re-stalled iTunes and resetted the iPod itself.
Nothing seems to work.
Anybody know how to solve this problem?I bought my ipod mini off of ebay and it only came with the ipod, no software or connectors. I bought the connectors seperately. My issue is this: when connecting to my computer I cannot find the songs off of the mini. nor can i figure out what the itunes purpose is. I am unable to find the mini on the itunes layout anywhere.
