Will SAP 2007 and v8.8 run ONSQL Express?

Hello Forum,
I am wondering will SAP 2007 and v8.8 run ONSQL Express?
Regards,
Juan

Dear,
SQL 2005 Express Edition is only supported in 32 Bit (x86) mode.
SQL 2005 Workgroup Edition is only supported with Windows Small Business Server (SBS) 2003 and only in 32 Bit (x86) mode.
As of SAP Business One Release 2007 A PL39 and 2007 B PL04, the application supports SQL Server 2005 Express Edition.
Before installing, make sure that you carefully read the Installation Guide for 2007 A / 2007 B on MS SQL Server 2005 Express Edition,

Hope this will help u.

  • How will SAP BW and HANA merge/melt over time?

Though SAP swears HANA would not replace BW but there are good reasons to believe the in-memory analytics platform(HANA) will eventually absorb BW. So, I think it is more accurate to say that SAP BW and HANA are begin to merge.
Any expert in this, can throw some light and educate us if it's so and how?
    Thank you.

There are plenty discussion on this topic, but I'll recognize the information might be pretty scattered over very specific ones. Here is my POV in a few bullets:
BW disappearing as a separate box doesn't necessarily mean BW disappearing as a modeling paradigm. In S4, where most operational reporting and analytics are performed on the fly on top of the transactional data, several scenarios are implemented as BW artifacts on top of Virtual Info Providers.
In the long run, you'll have the option to have fully managed modeling (BW LSA++ modeling paradigm) and the fully open SQL based modeling paradigm (based on HANA catalog artifacts & Information views). Both are interchangeable and you could have one single reporting model going through different objects of both modeling paradigms.
There will still be cases where you might need a consolidated centralized DW (e.g. consolidating data from several different sources). In such cases, you won't need to physically replicate data from any HANA source, you will simply virtualize the data from the other HANA Boxes (SDA).
With HANA SPS09 and even more with SPS10+, there will be native DW features in HANA that will help more and more the construction of the native HANA DW scenario. BW will also leverage those features. Look for HANA Data Warehousing Foundation, which include several services such as DDO and DLM.

  • Will a 2007 2.8Ghz iMac run Dragon Age: Origins acceptably in Boot Camp

I know it'll have no problems on my i7 iMac, but I was just wondering about my older one with an ATI 2660PRO graphics card, 4GB RAM, and a 2.8GHZ Core 2 Extreme processor running Windows 7 in Boot Camp. What sort of settings would this computer be capable of running the game at? Thanks!

I'm fairly certain that you cannot use a 75GB Windows partition formatted as FAT.
I think it has to be NTFS if it is more than 32GB.
This is from an older version of the Boot Camp installation guide (OS X 10.5)
One other possibility is that the default Windows video driver used at installation is somehow incompatible with your ATI Radeon chipset.  ATI has an Apple Boot Camp driver here http://www.official-drivers.com/installer/?seed=ati&gclid=COOhrP6Vq60CFc3DKgod71 _NoA
Unfortunately that download a setup.exe file, which means you have to have Windows running in order to install it, so that won't help during installation.

  • SAP 2007 Patch 08 License error

We installed  SAP 2007 and registered the new Hardware key in the SAP channel and applied a single license for installing the addon, profession user, Sdk etc.... After updating the License we upgraded the system to Patch 08. We installed the our Addon. It was Connected Successfully. The addon worked fine for us. We stopped the Addon manually and started once again the Addon. On that time we are getting the error "License was fully used " When we close the SAP application itself and re open the application the addon is getting connected successfully. The same addon is working fine with all other patches of SAP2007. Please tell us what could be the problem
    Thanks in Advance
    Madhu

    Hi Madhu,
I usually facing this kind of error when SAP B1 client crash and tried to run again the B1 client. This is due to the fact that the license server still record that you are in the system and once more tried to connect to system.
In case of your add on, usually it's related to the terminate process not ended successfully when it was stopped manually. So when you close the B1 client n run again the add on, it works.
If you facing the problem once again, try to stop and start the license server. It will reset the license server to the correct state.
    Cheers,
    Dody

  • SAP systems and Daylight savings for 2007

    Hi,
We are discussing about the Daylight Saving time changes in USA for 2007 and its effect on SAP Systems.
<i>"Beginning in 2007, most of the U.S. will begin Daylight Saving Time at 2:00 a.m. on the second Sunday in March and revert to standard time on the first Sunday in November."</i>
Wondering, if we need to change any variable settings to take into effect? If so, could anyone give details on it.
Wondering if SAP systems time is getting sync with Database servers or O/S ?
    Thanks,
    Sam

    Hi,
The beginning of daylight saving time is normally not a problem as the time will jump from 2:00 to 3:00, so seen from SAP that no problem. You will only have a 1 hour hole, as the system had nothing to do for one hour.
So there are no settings or so to maintain or change. Just let SAP system run...
But it is different when switching back to "normal" time, as there you will have the so called double hour, and even as SAP is working on a solution to this, it is still recommended to shut down the SAP system for this period.
(searching for the term "daylight saving time" in OSS should give you some notes explaining how SAP is handling it)
As i know SAP system is taking the time from OS, but you can se what time the SAP system has, by in the GUI menu to select the "system" => "Status"...
(In the Popup you can se it in upper right corner)

  • SAP 2007 A and SQL 2000

I understand that SAP no longer supports SQL Server 2000, but could someone confirm whether I can still still install and run SAP 2007 with a SQL Sevrer 2000 database?

    Hi John,
please have a look at the 'Product availability' landing page (Channel Partner Portal -> Solutions -> SAP Business One -> Product Availability):
Apr 17 | Microsoft Has Retired its Mainstream Support for SQL 2000 as of April 8, 2008.
For SAP Business One users still running their installation on SQL 2000, this means no new functionality or Service Packs. Microsoft will continue to provide bug fixes and security fixes on demand only. We therefore recommend that customers upgrade their SQL installation to 2005 as soon as possible. Refer to SAP Note 928839 for additional information.
You will also see in the 'server' section that SQL 2000 is not supported for SAP Business One 2007.
    All the best,
    Kerstin

  • SAP 2007 B and Window 7

    Dear All,
I would like to know, can we run (install) SAP 2007 B version under window 7 operating system?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Lailus

    Hi Lailus,
you can always see what platforms are supported on the SMP under the 'Product Availability' heading.
    As for Windows 7:
"Support will only be confirmed some time after the currently scheduled official release date of Windows 7 (October 22, 2009) as set forth by
           Microsoft® Corporation."
In the matrix it states that is is PLANNED for 2007A/B & 8.8. Therefore, it's not supported at this time.
    All the best,
    Kerstin

    Hi Experts ,
I have a requirement where we have to achieve SSO between MOSS 2007 and SAP .We should be able to access SAP based applications . We had earlier integrated iviews from EP into MOSS , some of which are even fetching data from ECC systems . Do we also need to change configurations on EP side ? Any suggestions will be highly appreciated .

  • Will my Adobe Creative Suite CS3 run on Mavericks? I have a 2007-08 model iMac, running Snow Leopard.

Will my Adobe Creative Suite CS3 run on Mavericks?
I have a 2007-08 model iMac, running Snow Leopard.
    Thanks!

Partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Mavericks into it and "dual-boot" to determine which flavor of OS X you are running.  DO NOT install Mavericks over your Snow Leopard environment as Mavericks will destroy it!
You can then experiment using Mavericks all you want with the ability to boot back into Snow Leopard as needed.

  • When will SAP Java AS for EE 7 see the light? And NWDS on Eclipse 4.2?

    Hi,
since thread 2028916 When will SAP Java AS for EE 6 see the light? became too long and old - scrolling on mobile devices is a pain -  I decided to start a new thread to discuss the future of the SAP Java AS on premise platform in combination with the development tool NWDS.
Java EE 7 is general available for a year next week. It is difficult to get courses on Java EE 5 and books at the antiquarian bookshop. Eclipse 3.5 underneath NWDS is completely outdated already and out of support on Eclipse side. BPM, SAP's still emerging software, is only availble in this old tooling.
SAP's CTO Sikka left the company giving us the chance to discuss this topic beyond the time of HANA hype.
Hopefully this thread will begin with good news.
    Best regards
    Rolf

    Hello Steffen,
thank you for your input. Because of holiday a late answer.
You are absolutely right, and I am sure it is not only your personal opinion, but the simple truth.
NetWeaver Java's right to exist is only as platform for CE tools like PI and BPM engine.
And because SAP cut themselves off Java 7 and EE >=6 standard, even these tools will become outdated quickly. E.g. you run into trouble running current oData libraries on this platform. I cannot recommend anybody to use BPM in new projects - a tool that is running on Java 6 / EE 5 in 2014 and needs a strange and unneccessary concept of "Development Components" at design time.
If we knew what we know today in 2010, we would have abandoned the NW Java platform already and found a nice web frontend. But SAP kept stalling us, so now we have dozens of WD Java that want to be replaced.
What really is striking me at this topic is the hype of the al the important SAP people (mentors etc.) around "kiss of death of WD Java" that kept the social networks busy in 2010 as constrasted with the ignorance regarding the way more substantial decay of the complete SAP NetWeaver Java platform. Our customers and we as software developers could live for the next 10 years with a rock solid and "mature" UI framework like WD Java even without any enhancements, but we cannot bear complete stagnation in our business layer and the platform and development infrastrucure on the whole.
SAP NetWeaver Java is dead, "deader" than WD Java will ever be, but the important people do not even read the death notice. Probably they are out of town in the HANA cloud.
SAP neglected the house for a too long time, the house is decayed, it is too late for cosmetic repairs by SAP, we have to move out.
    Best regards
    Rolf

If you have a considerable photograph and/or movie collection you may want to consider off loading those to the EHD too. Here are Apple's article showing how handle iTunes & iPhoto libraries.

I recently bought some new albums and can't play them on my ipod

I just encountered the same problem on my 2 month old MBPro.  I found a work around by changing USB ports.  As for the actual cause or the reason why that worked, I dont know.  The USB port I was using works fine with my phone or other USB devices.
