Will Shake 4.1 work on the Macbook?

Will Shake 4.1 work on the Macbook? Cause I was reading the requierment and it said " or any Intel Core based Macs."

The current version of Shake also has two other requirements:
1. AGP or PCI Express graphics card with at least 32MB of video memory and OpenGL hardware acceleration
2. Display with 1280-by-1024-pixel resolution and 24-bit color
The MacBook does not have either of these. I suppose you could attach an external monitor that runs at 1280 x 1024 or greater, but you might have to hack the installer to get past the AGP or PCI Express requirement.

perhaps apple uses more than one hard-drive?
I opted to purchase the seagate momentus. 100gb. 7200rpm. very nice speed. and i don't hear anything except for the gentle whir of the fans once in a while.

  • I have an iPod G2 with a firewire 400 lead. how can I attach it to my new 13 inch Mac book Pro, is there a 400 to 800 firewire converter. USB lead wont work with the Macbook Pro. iPod used as an external drive to archive memory cards on the go.

My G2 iPod that I use as an external drive to archive memory cards on the go cannot link with my new 13" Macbook Pro cause it uses a firewire 400 lead. It will not work with a USB lead. Is there a firewire 800 ipod lead or converter available? Can any one shed some light on this please?

As far as I know, if a harddrive works with a Macpro, it should work with the Macbook: if your Macbook is low on power, plug in the AC adapter
If your Macbook has a firewire port, then it should be fine. BUt i would do somemore research first.

You will have to provide the correct password to delete the existing account, if you have tried but are not getting the password reset email, contact Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click More Products and Services>Apple ID>Other Apple ID Topics>Lost or forgotten Apple ID password.

As I said, I don't use Time Machine, so it'd be best to wait for an "expert" answer, but, with my very limited knowledge, I'd say: probably not - so, for now, I'd suggest you read up on Time Machine:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=search&src=support_site.home.search&local e=en_US&q=time%20machine
And, you might be attracting more knowledgeable answers if you were to post this question in the Time Machine Forum (part of the Snow Leopard forums).

  • I was looking at the "Find my iPhone" app and I have a doubt regarding how it works for the macbook. In order to detect the location, the macbook should remain signed into iCloud. What if the thief logs out of iCloud. Would we able to locate the macbook?

I was looking at the "Find my iPhone" app and I have a doubt regarding how it works for the macbook. In order to detect the location, the macbook should remain signed into iCloud. What if the person who has stolen my macbook logs out of iCloud.
It should work fine for iPhone/iPad because we can enable "Restrictions" to prevent the user from signing out of iCloud. Do we have simialr settings for the macbook?
    Thanks,

If it's not on the device list, it indicates that someone has gone to Find My iPhone on icloud.com and manually deleted it from the device list (as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0eeddd), and it has not gone back online since (which would cause it to reappear on the device list; Find My iPhone has been turned of in settings on the device; the iClolud account has been deleted from the device; or the entire devices has been erased and restored.
Unfortunately, there's no other way to track the phone other than through Find My iPhone.  You could call your carrier and see if they would blackliste it so at least the theif couldn't use it.

If I upgrade to Mountain Lion on the computer that will install it, will my WIFI still work on the computer that cannot be upgraded? I know this is a very basic question. Trying to hold out as long as I can, but purchasing an iPhone for Christmas and new iMac next year when warrently expires.

Thank U very much for the quick reply, I wanted to upgrade this weekend, but still on the fence. I can live with the software that is not compatible, they are on another compuetr, just didn't want the obvious stuff to stop working.

  • Can we copy a CD tutorial onto an iPad? Does it work like the MacBook Air when downloading or copying using the iMac?

Can we copy a CD tutorial onto an iPad? Does it work like the MacBook Air when downloading or copying using the iMac?

So it can be .mp4 format.
If not you have to convert it.
Try import it into iTunes then sync it to your iPad.

  • List of 3rd party hdds/ssds that do/do not work in the MacBook Pro

    Hi everyone,
so after following the discussion(s) regarding the problems with hdds in the MacBook Pros after the firmware update I decided to start this thread with the hope that we can create a list of hdds/sdds that do or do not work in the MacBook Pros.
So here's my contribution (and a little convention for the posts):
model: MacBook Pro (Mid 2009) 2.8 GHz
    firmware: EFI 1.7
drive: OCZ 128GB SSD with firmware 1.30
    result: did not work
I could not partition/format the drive using the disk utility during the Mac OS X installation process. I managed to get the drive partitioned and formated using a SATA to USB cable from within Mac OS X and the original hard drive installed. In the end I wasn't able to install Mac OS X on it though (installer hang and gave an unknown error). So I returned the drive and got a refund.
PS: The drive worked fine in my PC so it may be a MacBook Pro SATA-controller related issue.
Please note beachball phenomenon in your posts as well.
    Cheers,
    roofkid

    Hi,
the superior ssd from corsair (cmfssd-256gbg2d) is unusable in a late 2008 macbookpro (5,1).
mcp79 is such a crappy chipset. i hope apple drops nvidia for the nextgen mbp.

  • Does "windows on a mac" work on the macbook air?

Does "windows on a mac" work on the macbook air? because watching the video, is says somthing about an installation disk. Many thanks

    Hi pglhi,
You can absolutely install Windows onto your MacBook Air. There's two ways to do it:
    1.) Using BootCamp
    2.) Using virtualization software
If you use BootCamp it natively installs the Windows operating system on a portion of your hard drive that you partition as a dedicated Windows environment. You typically want to allow about 15-20 GB for this at a minimum but your mileage may vary.
With virtualization software you run Windows from within the OS X environment, using a program like Parallels Desktop, VMWare Fusion, etc. So you'd launch the Windows OS just like you'd start up a program. Because you're virtualizing the environment you're also "double dipping" into system resources. So the RAM and CPU usage that WIndows would be allocated is in addition to what's already being used by OS X. As such it can be a bit more demanding than a Boot Camp environment.
But the MacBook Air can handle both, just fine. If you do go the route of Boot Camp you'll need an external CD/DVD drive - or - have USB drive configured to support the Windows installation environment.

  • Will weblogic 4.5 work with the Sun Java Servlet Development Kit Version 2.1?

Will weblogic 4.5 work with the Sun Java Servlet Development Kit Version 2.1
(JSDK 2.1). The reason I want this is we want our application servlets to
use the new 2.1 redirection mechanism to redirect to JSP files.

WL 4.5 supports JSP 1.0 (and, therefore Servlet 2.1).
What I want to know is when will it support JSP 1.1 (and, therefore Servlet
              2.2)!

  • When I first activated the iCloud keychain it was working great. But now it doesn't seem to be working on my iPod or iPads, i.e.: a wifi password it was able to use a few days ago over all devices now will only automatically work on the MacBook?

When I first activated iCloud keychain on my stuff (MacBook Pro, iPod and 2 iPads) it was working great and the all logged in to a wifi network that I had only used the password for on the MacBook. But yesterday the others all started asking for the password again (which I unfortunately don't remember and the friend who had it has recentlly had a stroke and also cannot remember it). I've tried turning iCloud keychain off and then back on again, but to no avail. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
