  • Will SIMS 2 work on my iBook G4?

Before I purchase the game, I'd like to know if it will work on my laptop. It has 1.42 GHz, 1 GB RAM, OSX 10.4.8, 32MB VRAM. The specs for this laptop say it has a 9550 video card or something, but I don't know how to tell if mine does. Does it? Will SIMS 2 work on this machine?

    audreyr,
Absolutely. You can buy the Mac version here.

  • Why does my printer HP 3080 not work with Mac OS X VERSION 10.7.5

Why does my printer HP 3080 not work with Mac OS X VERSION 10.7.5. Am I missing a driver? If so where do I go to download it? thanks

What's the full model number and name of the printer?  I can't seem to find any HP printer with the numbers 3080 in the model number.
How are you connecting the printer to the Mac?
I am a printer tech for HP.

  • If I update my system on my mac will sims 3 work?

Mine right now doesn't work with the sims 3. The people are black and its reflective. If I get the new system update will it work better? Or do I need a new Mac? I have the
Apple MacBook "Core Duo" 2.0 13"

No you dont. There is no "Apple MacBook "Core Duo" 2.0 13"
there is also no "Apple MacBook "Core Duo" 2013"
The last Macbook came out in 2010.
The last Macbook Pro that came out with a Core 2 Duo was in the same year.
It should work on either already, and will continue to work if you update.
What you need to do is actually update the game, and that requires a legal copy. Either that or you're mac is far older than a 2010 model.

  • Will Office 2004 work with Mac OS 10.4.11?

I'm currently running Office 2004 with Mac OS 10.4.2 but will soon be upgrading to Mac OS 10.4.11. I'm wondering if the Office currently installed on my computer will work with OS 10.4.11.
(All the component apps of Office are marked as Version 11.2, except Entourage, which is marked as Version 11.2.1.)
I'd appreciate any thoughts. THANK YOU.
    -Bob

Shouldn't be any problem. I used Office 2004 with 10.4.11 for quite a while until I bought Office 2008.
You might want to update your Office apps, though, with the latest security updates and bug fixes. My Office 2004 apps are all 11.3.something versions.

  • Will pc games work on mac ?

i was wondering if i buy a pc game will it deffinetly work on my mac and i spend ages downloading software then to find out its for windows will pc games work on mac

If it is a real game and made for the Windows Operating System then it should not even install on a Mac. In fact the install routine for the game shouldn't even run, start up, on the Mac Operating system.
What strange writing is coming up?
First you would need a version of Windows. If you want to install it in a Boot Camp partition, that is where you partition your drive and install Windows as a Dual Boot system, you will need Win 7. If you use a virtual machine software program then you can install almost any version of Windows. XP, Vista, Win 7 or even Win 2000 or 98.
There are 3 virtual machine software program that work on a Mac. Virtual Box (Free), VMware Fusion and Parallels that cost money to use.

  • Will older printer work on Mac Leopard?

I have an HP deskjet 720c - HP says there is no software or drivers for Mac OS X10.5 Leopard, but if I get a parallel->USB converter cable, will this printer work on my mac?

If it does not have a USB port to begin with, probably not. The adapter cable itself may need a driver so that the OS understands how to use it.
The standard Mac OS X printer driver installation has a large set of open source "Gutenprint" drivers for older printers. I use an old Epson Stylus Photo 750 with one of these drivers, and it works quite well for such an old printer. I did not see one for an HP Deskjet 720c listed, but another Gutenprint driver for a similar HP printer may work. But you'd have to get an adapter cable to try it; inkjet printers are pretty cheap these days, so it may be better just to get a new one that you know will be compatible (as well as work much better than that old one).

  • Will This sofware work with Mac Os X 10.4.3?

I reacently purchased a copy of Adobe PageMaker 7.0 for Mac but haven't being able to install it. The message on the computer is telling me that the sofware cannot run on this operating system.
The software requirements ask for Mac os 9.1 or Mac OS X (classic mode only).

I'm not an expert but I've had similar problems (wanting to run classic applications on tiger) and asked on here and basically, no. It won't work.
Somehow apple have managed to release this "oh so wonderful" intel core duo thing with tiger which prevents an incredible amount of software (ie. all classic) from working!! haha so clever...
so sorry but I don't think it will work..
If you want to double check though feel free

  • Will ipod Shuffle work on mac os 9.2x?

Question: Will the iPod shuffle work on my clamshell I know about the requirements but sometimes you can use mac os X programs and software on os 9.2 I just need an answer soon before Ibuy the shuffle!
    -Jeremy

    Jeremy,
Your only option will be to upgrade to at least Mac OS X 10.2.8. I recommend that you upgrade 10.3.9 though because of code optimizations, there is a consensus that it runs quicker and has more features. You'll need at least 128MB of RAM to run OS X at a grueling pace, but it's recommended that you put in as much as you can.
It should be noted that even with OS X, you'll still need an iPod Shuffle Dock or a USB Cable Extender to physically be able to plug the iPod Shuffle into your iBook's USB port, as the shuffle is a bit wide.
It should also be noted that the iPod Shuffle will then only run at slower USB 1.1 speeds not USB 2.0.
    I hope this helps.

  • Will any iPod work with Mac OS 10.3.9?

I want a basic iPod for music on the move but what older ones will work on my iBook G4 running 10.3.9? I don't mind trawling eBay... I understand that the new iPods require a more up to date OS...

You can look at the iPod specification profiles here
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/consumer_electronics/index-ipod.html
There is an entry for +Mac Support+ on the profiles, which shows the earliest Mac OS X release that is supported by each model.

  • Ok...DVI to Video Adapter will almost never work on MAC PRO, what the....

    ok
Thank you apple for making us all by the grand Mac Pro and upgrade to better video cards (like in my case 8800gt) and then offering no solution to replace the DVi to Video adapter which allows to have video mirroring.
Anyone has any idea how to make extended desktop or video mirroring work since this adapter is no longer compatible?
    Thank you

Yes I know that. my question is regarding what to use for a 8800 card

  • Will Sims 3 run on Mac OS X Leopard 10.6 with an Intel HD Graphics 3000 card?

I recently replaced my broken laptop with a Macbook Pro 13" operating on OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.7. I wanted to continue playing the Sims 3 as I had done on my previous laptop. It installed fine onto my Mac and allowed me to create people. When moving them into a household, the game suddenly froze (appearing as if it is on pause) meaning I need to actually switch on and off my Mac to clear the screen.
Could this be because my Mac has an Intel HD Graphics 3000 card? The Mac system requirements for the Sims 3 asks for an ATI X1600, a Nvidia 7300 GT or an Intel Integrated GMA X3100. If so, how do I go about fixing this? Would I need to physically buy a new graphics card to accommodate the game?
I'm not a massive gamer but it appears I am a bit of a Mac dummy!
    Please help if you can

Sounds like it.   Unfortunately you can't replace the graphics card.   Replace the computer*:
