What makes you so sure it needs the A5 chip?
From a pure marketing standpoint, it makes perfect sense that Siri works only on 4S. Were it not for Siri, there would be very little incentive - almost none - to upgrade from 4 to 4s. But that's not the same thing as saying it can't physically be done, or it needs a particular chip to do it.
In fact Siri is simply a clever extension of technology that's been around for years, so it's more of a breakthrough in imagination than a breakthrough in technology (and no less worthy for being that).
I'll bet my proverbials that there will be some work around or fix which, though not to Apple's taste, enables users of 4 or 3GS handsets to engage with Siri.

It is exclusive to the iPhone 4S. Probably requires more processing power than the 4 can spare.

How is possible that Siri works with the iphone blocked?
I believe that it is a security problem because anyone could call or send a SMS (for example) in spite of being blocked the iPhone.

You can prevent access to Siri when your iPhone is locked by following these directions:
Prevent access to Siri when iPhone is locked: Go to Settings > General > Passcode & Fingerprint (iPhone 5s) or Settings > General > Passcode Lock (other models). You can also disable Siri by turning on restrictions. See Restrictions on page 35.

I have an unlimited plan for T-mobile and i order the iphone 4s factory unlock like a week ago. But i'm not sure if the 4s will work with the t-mobile 4g network and Siri. well i'm not really asking which is better for travel, i'm just asking over all which phone is better for the plan i have with T-Mobile, but i'm assuming is the Galaxy s2, but the only reason y im not getting that phone is cause that phone is way too big. sigh and i really like the i4s, been using iphone before as well, so i'm kinda use to it. But i see no point of getting the I4s if i the function that came with it to make it fun doesn't work. You get what i mean?? that's y i'm asking cause i don't know anything.

I have a Macbook and iPhone and like to back up to iCloud. However, my work computer runs Outlook 2003, which I know will not work with the iCloud. The company has no plans to update anytime soon. Since the calendar and contact list on my office computer are my primay ones, I hard sync through iTunes. The problem is that any data synced from Outlook 2003 to the iPhone from iTunes does NOT later backup to iCloud. Is there a solution?
I have the same problem with Outlook 2003 and Win XP which the multinational organisation I work for standardises on and will probably stay with forever!
