Hi. I just wanted to ask if it is possible if Skype were to ever release on other platforms that could very possibly handle it; Such as: Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, Xbox 360, Ps3, and any others not mentioned.

I have a 3DS and a Wii U. I play them all the time and I am what you would most likely call a Nintendroid. If I know nintendo at all, they are most likely never going to put skype on any of their consoles in the near future- that would lead to MICROSOFT getting popular with skype, and seeing as Microsoft own Xbox, nintendo can't have that. By the way, that's probably the reason we won't vbe seeing any Minecraft OR Halo coming to our nintendo screens anytime soon.

I don't hold up much hope, and if the recent UI abomination is an example of Skype listening to it's users the chances are practically zero. I work online, I'm a 3d product visualization artist, clients are needy and painful with bleating and constant requests, there are times I want to be on Skype chatting to friends and I want to be able to select who see's me online at any one time. The only option I have is to remain permanently invisible, which seems rude when chatting to friends. From what I can find out, this has been requested (and ignored) for years, I'm sure at one time you were able to use 3rd party chat clients such as Pidgin to drive the Skype system and be able to have different "online status" for certain contacts. And as far as I can find out Skype have blocked this ability. So rather than wait for this feature to be added to Skype, or join the black hole of Skype development, does anyone have any solution or 3rd party workaround to this ? ...and in case I missed it in my haste to uninstall it, is this feature available in 7.0 ? tia

Yes, your contacts is getting your status information from the servers (catalog ones) not your client. Offcourse you can be online/offline to everyone, thats the point. In your suggestion, the servers must keep track of each status entry you choose for each contact you have, which is somewhat diffrent from how it works now.
Another fun effect of your suggestion is, if you have two contacts that know each other, you choose to be offline (or accidentaly sets it) to Bob and online to Paul. Bob asks Paul if he knows whats going on with you, he's not seen you online for weeks. Bob replies that, yes he's online right now, I just talked to him 5 minutes ago. Now this could be a problem
Even worse if the above is in a corporate situation.

When will Adobe open Single Edition to other platforms, such as Android?

A big question that merits an answer. My clients are in the tourist industry. They only need to publish 4-6 times a year. The Professional and Enerptise Editions do not fit their needs. They need to publish over a wide range of tablets and to the iPhone. We have been told that it is on the horrizon that Adobe will open Single Edition to this wider range. We realy need to know when.
Hope I'm not to pusshy on this.

When will FaceTime be available for other Platforms? Steve Jobs, the CEO of the company at the time, said Apple was working on making FaceTime an Open standard.
With already so many FaceTime enabled devices out there, and with so many financially strapped individuals relying on the cheaper android devices for both their phone and there Internet, opening up FaceTime to all other platforms will make facetime the default videoconference utility. I want to see this implemented for medical calls to nurses and providers in helping them to assess patients from a distance that are unable to travel. Visual/live communication would be a breakthrough.
This can already be implemented with patients who have a iOS devices, or trying to get them to download app that other devices can use....but it is not as seamless as FaceTime. When will this promis be fulfilled?

There are no other options for using FaceTime. GG was referring to other services with a similar functionality such as Skype. Again, none of us here knows what Apple has planned for FaceTime nor when, or indeed if, they will ever open up FaceTime to other developers.

The other supported platforms will be added later this year or early next
year. For Beta, we are only supporting Windows NT, Solaris and HPUX. After
the production release of WLS 6.0, expect the other platforms to show up.

I am using Blackberry Curve 9300. I purchased this phone for Rs. 17,250 before some 3 years, I considered RIM to be a Company providing premium services which is unique in itself and which worth spending on them and the most important thing is those are not available to non-blackberry users! Especially in case of Blackberry Messenger, which is such a service connecting all the blackberry users around the world, making a mark of precious symbol of the users of BBM.
Before few days I came to know about BBM being available on Android and Windows phones, my question is why this injustice with your own customers, you provide the app which they will use with their normal data plan and we people who are your real customers, who trusted in you have to spend not less than Rs.129 for just BBM!I must say RIM is the most back-stabbing company I have had ever dealt with! People are laughing at us as they are using the same service for almost free and we have to spend a huge sum for availing the same service, my question is are these non blackberry people your customers or we people who contributed in your success with hopes of trust?
My question is not why you made available BBM usage to non-blackberry users with such flexibility but my question is why can't you be loyal to your own customers?
I hope that RIM would have a pleasing justification.

I was never under a rock when it comes to technology I know that in India before few months yoru Blackberry Z10 was Rs.44,000 and now it is Rs.21,000. I understand the ploy of making BBM cross platform to generate revenue, first in a technical sense and another by creating it advrtisement in the marker.
Do you think that taking an undue advantage of our loyaty and enduring the mockery of your own customer would take you anywhere? Don't you think that abusing your own customer's prestige would even affect you negatively? While your customer is paying Rs.129 for just BBM the Android person sitting next to him is lauging at him for he paid you and call him fool! Profits doesn't starts only by making huge business decisions but from the loyal and satisfied customers. You may always find customers all around always complaining but deep down if you have touched their needs they will bless you with good words at your back, maybe in such a way that you will never come to kow but it will grow you more. I am not here to deliver you a marketing lecture as i am in corporate law field but let me tell you what I read during my graduation, it said something like one disatisfied customer can discourage ten potential customers from buying your product and I have started feeling the same in case of online shopping but I do not know when the company giant blackberry would come to know!
When you said about expanding customer base, think about a company who is expanding its base of customers by disatisfing their current customers who always took pride in you by providing them services at harsh terms and in front of their eyes others are getting benefits at a very low cost.
Our family business is textile manufacturing, not as big as blackberry but we always knew that if we will start selling our goods by describing them as really premium goods and start charging out of lips and bounds, of course my product could be premium worth the price but one thing I could be missing would be a point of finance, there could be cheaper alternatives in market which could be selling at lower price which same usage. My concern is just to keep our eyes open.
Now consider a phone on which I can use Whatsapp which satisfies my messaging needs, gtalk and yahoo messengers for my im needs, push mails for emails, browsing and downloading for just Rs.99 and on the other hand Blackberry services for Rs.389, it is indeed clear the reason of downfall, though it is labelled as premium service and indeed it could be, permium service as I said earlier.
When you feel that your boat is sinking, you do not have only have to pull out the waters but on the priority basis you have to cover the hole too! Blackberry is just pulling out the water leaving the hole as it is!
If you say that legacy mode in BBOS could bother you from providing BBM for BB device, you know that it cannot be and even I know that, any technical person can know that as it is a little secret that I can use BB browser without BIS and many other apps are example of the same (to be a bit informal). See, I never asked this thing from last three years but now when you are making it cross platform why not to give a little benefits to those who paid you till now, if you can give it to those who are nothign to you?
My question is that why can't you provide BBM to be used on the normal data paln for your own old and loyal customers who paid you such a handsome amount from many years for your services as how you provide on other platform, just for BBM not email and rest of your services?

Thanks for the correction. Yes, the file size in Jet 4.0 was changed to 2
gigabytes. I had forgotten that. I've been retired two years for Heaven's
sake. However, within the context that I brought it up, it was only to
tease a little bit :-) by indicating that there is a physical limit
to the size of the database and, hence, a limit to the number of entries --
i.e. it's not unbounded. Whether it's 1 or 2 gigabytes, it's still finite.
And, for Organizer, it hardly matter much because performance issues would
probably create a practical limit long before the physical limit was
reached.
Jet 4.0 was the last version of the Jet database engine and that was
superceded by the Microsoft Desktop engine (MSDE) and (as of the time of my
retirement at least) was deprecated as a component of the Microsoft Data
Access Components (MDAC). Time marches on. I understand that Microsoft is
replacing MSDE with SQL Server 2005 Express Edition and that standard
support of MSDE will cease at the end of next year. Taking all that into
account, I think I can be forgiven for opining JET obsolete. :-) I have not
heard of a new version of JET in the works. If you have, more power to you.
Being retired, I no longer need to keep on top of database developments or
care to. :-) :-) :-)

I sympathise with you on this subject. I have been with Skype for 5 years or more.. I have the unlimited calls to Canada & Usa for $3/month. The service is getting better . I've paid for an american online number for over three years and now dropped it... Always hoping Skype would finally give us a Canadian list of area codes from which to chose... I recently bought a telephone adaptor that connects directly to my router so I don't need anymore to have my computer turned on so I can use the phone...
You know what ? I think Skype does not care a bit about us Canadians.... I have stopped believing they will ever put in the cash and effort in to get us Canadian telephone codes...
The solution : I'll soon get either a MagicJack+ or a NetTalk system... They both offer Canadian telephone codes and they both cost less than Skype for unlimited calls to Canada and USA.... They also both connect directly to your router so you don't need to have a computer running to originate or receive calls with any normal house phone....
I have friends that use both MagicJack+ and NetTalk and I can assure you the service is at least as good if not better than Skype. A Canadian Online number is important to me and getting a different service seems to me the only way to get it.

All you can do on Iphone is doable on S60 3rd FP2 in one way or another.
You dont need a special program to load up your Nokia phone with apps/music/movies and so on and you can do it from any computer or download it from internet directly to your phone.
Nokia follows standards like Upnp, DLNA and WebDAV.
You dont need to send away you Nokia Phone around the world to get a new battery. You can do it your self.
You get better services on the web like OVI, sportstracker, viNe and N-Gage with a Nokia Phone.
Nokia Maps are better then Google Maps.
Nokia dosent controll what you are able to install on your phone.
Symbian are an open platform.

Will I ever receive the money owed to me?

This has become a complete nightmare. Back in October I ordered some phones per the advice of a vz sales rep. Long story short, that was a huge mistake. When I discovered this and received the phones, I simply put them right back in the mail. After I went to get new shipping labels at a vz store, that is. Note that I didnt open any if the 3 boxes of the phones. I called customer service, said there was a misunderstanding, and they agreed that they had given me the wrong info. I told them I was returning the phones. This was the end of October. I watched fedex relentlessly. I also talked to vz a couple times to make surethey knew what was going on. They assured me that they were on board and would call me on Wednesday the 30th to shut diwn the lines when the phones were received. They didn't call. When I saw that the phones were where they were supposed to be via fedex, I called vz. They said they weren't in the system yet. I was beginning to get upset at this point. I called back a couple days later. Mind you that I have to explain this entire situation over again every time I call. Every time I talk yo someone, they are very willing to help, but nothing ever happens. Eventually they find two phones. I am only credited for one. No explanation why. I get a ticket number about the third phone and have to call back again. They find the third phone. I still have not been credited for these two phones. They are over $200 each. Also one of the lines is still connected. How and why is that happening? Why were any lines connected in the first place? I never even opened the boxes let alone activated the phones! Andnow my hill isvover $650 for these libes that I didn't want for aftivation fees, line feex, data packages and a month in advance fees! This is outrageous! The last guy I talked to was a guy named Justin and he seemed very sincere. Seemed is the key word. I once again explained my story, he was apologetic, and assured me that everything would be straightened out by the 18th. Well, its the 26th and its still the same. He told me that the lines would be dropped, the fees, and charges would be credited and everything would be settled. I asked him to repeat it to me because I had been given so many promises before that I wasn't sure if I could believe him. He said that he understood and was happy to go over it again. Yet here I am again, still no money received and with a whopping bill. If this isn't resolved soon, l'll have to go to the regional manager or straight to court.Ii am a very patient person, but now I am just angry.

Well, this forum really isn't an official verizon customer service operation. That's what I meant. You have already tried and got very little result. File a BBB complaint against verizon and you will get a call quickly.

Mine charges just fine, as does everyone's iPhone 4S that I know. Apple even sells a number of car chargers that are certified to work:

Perhaps there is a problem with your charger or the outlet you're using in your car/truck.
