Will someone check something for me.
My shiny new 4TB external HDD arrived today, my 2TB drive was full with my itunes media. I created a folder which I called itunes, nominated it as my new itunes folder in itunes prefs and consolidated. It's copied about 450 GB of media so far and might be ready when I wake in the morning. (Gee then I need to start a new back up script and copy it all again)
Anyway, I note a few differences between my new itunes folder and my old one which I assume are to do with itunes 9. My old itunes folder contained a long list of artist folders in relation to music and audiobooks, scattered amongst which were folders entitled movies, podcasts, ringtones, Auto Add (new in itunes 9) and tv shows. My new itunes folder is much neater with all the music artists in a music folder on their own and a new folder just for audiobooks. So just a handful of folders at first level in the new itunes folder.
It appears itunes 9 organises your media in a different way than before, but simply upgrading to itunes 9 doesn't rearrange media that was organised before the upgrade, and you need to recreate your itunes folder before the changes are introduced.
So I was sort of wondering what happens to new music that was added after the itunes 9 upgrade, is it added to an artist folder sitting in the itunes folder as it was before, or is it added to an artist folder in a music folder in the itunes folder. I'm also wondering whether there would be any difference between new music from an artist you already had and one you didn't.
Obviously it's too late for me to check this now, so I wondered if someone could take a look for me.

i would expect your itunes library to stick to the new structure and import anything into the correct new location.
Yep, so would I, I'll check that out when I get itunes back (really nice though how despite not being able to use itunes myself at the moment and it's in the middle of consolidating, the kids can still sit in the lounge and watch Fawlty Towers on the tv)
only snag might be is if the artist name wasn't identical to an artist you already have. maybe a grammatical or similar difference.
I'm guessin' you are talking about your media not mine, I sort of think that even if the artist name was exactly the same you'd now see them in ....itunes/music/artist and ....itunes/artist.
i've downloaded tv shows and these have also stuck to the new structure

There already was a tv show folder in the itunes music folder.
I'm just wondering if it wouldn't be general good advice to consolidate one's library after itunes 9 upgrade just for tidyness.

Do you think Apple will give us something in return for this chaos? Like maybe a free game or something? I have read soooo many stories and man its pretty messed up. Ive read ppl saying that "apple did not force them to update" but when ur iPhone says "New Update Available - 2.0" and you've waited since January for this, then they say that it will be here in March, then they say June then finally July....what do you think? Some of you people are clueless. You act as if Apple is completely blameless. here's a newsflash for you: If a company makes a product available, they have a responsibility to the consumer that it works properly. That's the basic idea behind express and implied warranty laws. "Oh, but it's free...so you can't complain!" - It's not free, and you're not very smart. Apple provides software updates to keep consumers happy, and keep us using their products. it's built in to the cost of the iPhone. A cost of doing business, if you will. If it wasn't beneficial to them, why would they spend countless man-hours developing the code? because it's a happy, shiny world? Yeah, exactly.
"But no one forced you to download the update!" - And no one forced them to make it available before the infrastructure was ready either. It's not as if Apple is new to this game. They had issues at launch. And I don't know about your job, but at mine...if I know I'm going to have issues, I make dang well sure I've got my bases covered next time around, so I have ZERO repeats. and given the scope of their marketing, it's not like Apple can say "Hurr, we didn't know it would be so popular, hur hur.". -

Its seamless to say the least. The PC thinks its just another ethernet adapter. The iphone has a blue bar at the top that says "Internet Tethering" it also flashes light blue to dark blue when running. From the lock screen you can also see the blue bar as well as from the Sync screen.
For the record this phone is not jailbroken and is running 3.0 which is still signed by apple and ATT current 5.5 so I hope I am not doing anything wrong in posting this hiccup.

My Slow Mac Mini - will someone once and for all give me an answer!!
I got a 1.25 ghz Mac Mini with 512 RAM running 10.4.4 . This thing has been so slow since I pulled it out of the box. I always get the colorwheel when doing just about anything. No, I don't have a bunch of apps open, just Safari and Mail. I tried closing Dashboard, but that did not help. There is also this lag, when I mouse over my dock, it does not immediatly respond. This is no fun. Does someone have an educated answer for this problem?

If you restart your mini, does it act this slow from the start? Or is it when you use it for a period of time?
Also, open Finder, and click on the Applications section. Look for a program called Activity Monitor (it may be in a folder called Utilities). When that opens, there is a section called Memory (may be Memory Usage). Click on this and sort by Memory on the list. This will show programs that are using significant amounts of memory. My hunch is that a program is eating up all available memory and slowing your mini down. The most likely culprit is Safari. To quit Safari, you have to actual select from the menu, the Quit option. Just clicking on the X will not close Safari.
Post back with the answers to my first two questions. Also, post back with what you find in the Activity Monitor program. There are lots of people here that are more knowledgeable than me, so hang in there, we'll find the answer. -

Something interesting with check rule for VAT registration no.
Hi Guys,
I found something weird in sap with check rule for VAT registration no.
If I set any of check rules for US and save(tcode oy17), then change the country of a customer from DE to US and save(not change the VAT registration no), the system post error messages "ISO code DE is not correct in the VAT registration number". But if I set rule for AU(australia) with same rule as US, and change the customer's country from DE to AU(not change the VAT no), no error happens and customer can be saved successfully. So anybody can give any explanation on this problem?

You mean the inside of Settings > Wifi > you are unable to toggle it on?
Have you attempted to toggle airplane mode? Check for software update? Reset Network Settings? Restore as new in iTunes? -

I mainly use MIDI interface for compositions and playback. So, could anyone please find a MIDI file with some FASTER parts, play it, and check if there are any dropouts or note misplacements?
It was the issue in all previous driver versions, so please, somebody check this for me will ya?

When will there be fix for AirPrint? Since upgrading to Yosemite I cannot print from my MacBook Air which I use mostly. (I can print from the my old 2005 G5 desktop and iPad2 just fine on the same network.) I could print just fine when I had Mavericks. I have tried EVERYTHING under the sun: resetting print system, deleting and adding the printer, checking for updates, uninstalling and reinstalling printer software and folders, turning off modem, router etc. NOTHING works.
The laptop shows that it is printing but nothing happens. Then it says it cannot locate the printer or there is a broken pipe. But it does tell me that I have a low level in one of the ink cartridges (which is true.)
Help! I have warned everyone I know not to upgrade. Is there a way to go back to Mavericks?

Hi
We have a Windows 2012 server with Exchange 2013, all is working fine except now i am getting issues with the backup.
'Exchange - The application will not be available for recovery from this backup. the consistency check failed for the component Microsoft Exchange Server'
I have checked the database all is fine, i have created a new db and move all mailbox;s over and then removed the old db, i have enabled circular logging and then disabled it, it seems no matter what i do i cannot get a full backup!
i did have to restore the server once and the backups still worked for about 4 days after that and then stopped, i have also tried to remove and re add the backup role!
i am stumped, any advice would be great!Hi
Ok, i created a test db and tried to back it up right away, it failed, i did not add any mailbox's to it either. i got quite a few events in the windows logs, as well as the same event above i got the following:
