Will Synching Damage My Palm

Hello. I bought a refurbished Palm from a seller on Ebay. (He seemed reputable and had excellent feedback) It was loaded with medical software which is why I chose it, because I'm a nursing student. I tried to Hot Sync but it wasn't working so I contacted the seller. He said "Don't hook it up to your computer. Don't sync it. You may damage your internal memory and lose all your programming. You can connect wirelessly to the computer, but never sync it." In other emails he tells me just to use the Palm for the medical references and not to try to use it like a regular PDA. My question to anyone out there who would know is: Is he right? Is it possible to lose all my programming if I Hot Sync to my computer? I really like all the software but I wonder if I am somehow cheating myself by not using the Palm for all it could do. Thanks.

A legal unlock code will be coded to you, not the seller! If the seller has codes already, they are coded to him/her, not you, and he/she has no right to sell the program to anyone else! (I seriously doubt the seller is a legal agent of the company that makes the software.)
There are many ways to pirate software, and come up with phony codes.
The decision is up to you. It's my humble opinon that any seller who tells you not to Hotsync is of low moral content...

Hot synch problem with Palm TX

I entered some new contacts on Microsoft Outlook and two new categories of contacts. When I hot synch with my Palm TX the new contacts appear but the two new categories do not appear. Does the Palm TX have a limit on the number of Contact Categories it will handle? I have 15 Categories at present in Outlook.

According to the Palm Knowledgebase, 15 is the maximum (not counting All and Unfiled).

Calendar app that will synch between iMac 10.6.8, iPad 2 and iPhone 5

I am looking for a calendar app that will synch my 3 devices (iMac 10.6.8, iPad 2 and iPhone 5). I tried upgrading my iMac to the latest version, whatever cat that is. I hated it ANd it didn't synch properly. Most events duplicated and some up to 5-6 times. I might have stuck it out and tried to figure out the replicating issue but I despised the entire interface to downgraded back to 10.6.8. I am thinking there has to be an app out there that will successfully synch calendars between these devices but from my search in the App Store, most seem to be geared to mobile devices only but I want to be able to see my events when I am at home on my iMac, too. Does anyone know of an independent app that will do this?

Centro will not Sync with Palm Desktop

I have removed all Palm references from laptop as suggested in: Community Help Forums : Hardware & Software : Software : Re: Syncs fine -- missing all data in Desktop App with no luck.

I have a Windows Vista, downloaded Hotsync Manager 7.0.2 and all data (contacts/calendar) from Palm Centro will not appear in Palm Desktop. I have made sure that:
1. user name in Hotsync is the same as is in Palm Desktop
2. tried different user name (suggested "Test" ) with no luck
3. changed name of device through "prefs" icon (at least, in Bluetooth, Device Name is "Palm Centro") I am unable to find another option to change the name of the device for syncing purposes if it is not through Bluetooth
Any other suggestions? I have made entries into te Palm Desktop calendar, do a Hotsync and the entries from the Palm Desktop entries are not appearing into the Palm Centro, and the Centro's contacts and calendar entries are not showing up in the Palm Desktop.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreaciated!

Do you have the Centro set to sync with Microsoft Outlook by mistake? Look in Outlook and see if your info is there.
If it is, you can run a simple program in your Start/All programs/Palm/PIM Conduit Sync/Sync with Palm Desktop to switch it back.

Can I upgrade my MacBook Pro RAM to 16Gb eventhough Apple advises 8GB max upgrade? Will it damage my computer if I do upgrade to 16Gb?

I have a Macbook pro 2011 15" and since I am into composing music I use Logic Pro and Native Instruments which require quite some RAM accessing & loading complex samples and effects. I was wondering if I can upgrade the ram to 16gb or even more eventhough Apple indicates 8gb as max RAM upgrade. I read some contadictory information. some say that Macbook pro will support 16gb. What if I upgrade will it damage my system?

The 12W charger from Apple will in fact charge the Mini just fine. There is no issue with using that charger. It supports amongst other things the iPad mini as per the compatibility list here:

4 playlists on iTunes/PC; only 2 will synch

I have four playlists in iTunes and only two will synch.
First I just did a regular synch, the 2 showed up.
Then I clicked the songs in the other 2 playlists and ran a synch for checked items.
My previously synched playlists disappeared and the others did not show up.
So I did an unchecked synch again, everything unchecked, and the first 2 playlists showed up, but the later 2 did not.
What's up with this??????

PS I have not yet updated to the latest os for the ipod touch, I just got the ipod a few weeks ago, so I assume I am using the os just before this one.

Re-synched with no checking, and half of the songs from the third playlist showed up in one of the previously synched playlists.... I am so confused! The machines seem to be confused?

My desktop app won't synch the files. It will synch on a download but when I create a new file locally it won't synch it up.

I just can't seem to be able to synch files on the upload way. It will synch down but not up.

Could you send me some log files please so I can look a bit more into the issues you are having.
The log files can be found here:
Mac: /Users/<yourusername>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/
Windows: C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CoreSync\
The logs have the date in the filename, like "CoreSync-2014-03-25.log". Please compress (zip) all the CoreSync-2014-MM-DD.log files and email them to me directly at [email protected]

An iPod can only sync with one iTunes library. The iPod sees the rebuilt computer as a new iTunes library. To make this computer the syncing computer
- Transfer iTunes purchases:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
- Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
newer copy
- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup.
Note that the iPod backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps and music.

No, It will not damage the compass but it might cause it to be inaccurate.

At least with a new computer, you could talk the reseller out
of a new replacement keyboard within the complementary
plan. For extensive demands, get the optional AppleCare.

Hi, have you been able to solve the problem? I'm struggling with the same thing. What is even more strange: When I sync from iPhone to MacBook it doesn't show the entry in iCal. When I then sync the MacBook (without having changed or entered anything on the MacBook) to the iPad the original event from the iPhone is transferred to the calendar on the iPad. It seems as if the MacBook transports the iPhone calender entry to the iPad but it doesn't show it on the MacBook at all. I've checked all the settings in iTunes, they seem to be alright, so I'm confused. It worked perfectely in the past.
