I suspect it has to with whether or not iTunes 7.7 is required for the iPhone 3G. If it is, then when the iPhone 3G goes on sale in New Zealand at 8:00am Friday (which would be 3:00pm CDT Thursday for me here in Chicago), then they have to have iTunes 7.7 available to support those phones. In that case, unless they go crazy trying to identify IP addresses and roll-out access as the world turns, I would think that iTunes 7.7, the new firmware, and the App store would all be available at that time to all iPhone owners.

    I live in Japan and they have foreign movies in several formats some are dubbed with famous actors some are translated and use Ji 字 = word  幕 maqoo =curtain subtitles and some we can chose a different languge but iTunes is international and my settings are for Finnish too because I want to learn that with Swedish. but it does not work actually Dictionary and spell checker does work too on Mac.
    iTunes Japan seem to have laws and copy right laws that make different countries restrict what we can choose with movies and media.
    I want to see Finnish TV on line with Swedish subs but I can not I listen to Puhe.
    With siri and voice over maybe you can do something in Universial access.

    Pac-Man has been available as an app for iOS devices for a long time. Have you searched the iTunes Store for "Pac-Man"? If nothing is coming up in the search, it's probable that the developer of the game has chosen not to release it in your country.
