Will the 24 cinema led display work with my imac 17inch 2006 late model?
Would like to buy one that will work with my imac late 2006 17inch 2.0 ghz intel core 2 duo
Anyone know or are they only for the notebooks. thanks
Talked to an Apple Genius.
May be an apple, but definitely not a genius.
He stated that I could do it a lot cheaper by using two of Apples adapters.
It will be cheaper, but it won't work.
Apple Mini-DVI to DVI Adapter 19 dollars and Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter 29 dollars. I bought both, they don't fit together.
There's a reason they don't fit together. The DVI ports on these adapters are DVI outputs only, meant to send DVI signals to displays. The DVI ports cannot be used as inputs, no matter what adapters or cables are used.
Now all I need is a 24 inch LED Cinema display to see how it works.
It won't. The digital video signals are very different between DVI and DisplayPort. You can use a cheap adapter to connect a DVI display to aDisplayPort computer because the DisplayPort graphics system recognizes the adapter and changes the video signals to the DVI format. The adapter then sends these signals to the correct pins on its DVI port. You can'y use a simple adapter the other way since DVI graphics controllers can't generate DisplayPort video signals.
You need a DVI to Mini DisplayPort converter.

(And a Mini-DVI to DVI adapter.)

Will the old 23" ACD work with the Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapte
Will the old 23" ACD work with the Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter and the new MacBook Pro?
Apple Store says it is for the 30" only.
Thanks ... KenI'm not so sure about that. I'd say the jury's still out until someone gets one and tries to use it single-link.

Will the lightning USB adapter work with regular USB jump drives?
Will the lightning USB adapter work with regular USB jump drives?
Not really.
Technically, with some USB drives (I've had a 50% success rate) you can import photos or videos off the drive - thi those photos or video follow a very strict naming convention.
But you cannot import anything but photos or video and there is zero support to write off the iPad to the flash drive....so while it technically may work, it's so limited to effectively not work. -

I have interface M Audio 400 with 400 firewire new Mac Pro has firewire 800 Do you think an adaptor will provide the same quality? Will the M audio 400 work with lion and new system or do I need new software? Thanks so much
If you have a little Firewire adaptor, everything should work fine. It does on my system.

Your install disk must look like this
and not like this.
Those gray disks are machine specific and will only work with model of Mac that they shipped with. -
Will the new Iphone 3Gs work with Iphone 3G accessories?
So I have an Iphone 3G and of course I'm ready to upgrade to the 3Gs.
However, I have a car charger and the Video component cables for my 3G. Will these work with the 3Gs?Your car charger and the video component cables for your 3G should continue to work. The reason some of the car chargers that worked with the first generation iPhone didn't work with the iPhone 3G is Apple removed the firewire pins from the dock connector with the iPhone 3G. A number of car chargers charged via firewire, not USB. The first generation iPhone supports charging via firewire, which is not supported with the iPhone 3G, and will no longer be supported with any future iPhone or iPod models.

Will the mac mini definitely work with a 50 hertz tv?
Just wondering if the mac mini will work with a 50 hertz tv
Yep - just go to the System Preferences and choose display and hit 'detect display' which will give you 1080x and other TV resolution options (assuming you have a modern LCD or similar).
You should then be able to select 50 or 60 hz. -
Will the Apple Magic Mouse work with my Mac Mini?
Hi
I have a mid 2007 Mac mini — the Model 2,1 — running Mac OS X Snow Leopard, 10•6•8
I’m thinking of treating myself to the Apple Magic Mouse, or Trackpad.
Will the Magic Mouse, work with this model and version of the OS … ?
(I’m ALSO told I need to have Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0: how do I go about checking that I do … ?)I'm not sure about the 2007 mini, but a quick check is to open your system preferences and look for Bluetooth preferences. If there aren't any, then no magic mouse for you...

Will the 10W Apple Charger work with my iPad Mini
Hello Everyone
I got a ipad mini for christmas and because the lightening cable and 5W charger don't reach because i have only got one socket accesible in my living room i was thinking about buying the 10W Charger from Western Computers in Cheltnam, Gloucestershire And I Have a few questions about it because it does not tell me on the website which devices it is compatible with my following questions are
Will It work with my ipad mini?
Will it charge my iPad Mini Quicker?
Will it be compatible with the lightening cable my ipad comes with or will i have to get a adapter of some sort?
Please can someone answer my questions and reply because i do not want to wast my £25.00The 10W charger will work on all of Apple's iDevices. It will charge your Mini faster.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Will the new 8Gb nano work with these speakers?
I bought a set of intempo speakers last year for my first generation 1Gb nano. I bought the new 8Gb nano last week and want to know if it will work with them. The manufacturers website with technical specs is below,
http://www.intempodigital.com/ids01.htmThe new nano comes packaged with it's own 'dock adaptor'. It's a #13 dock adaptor in case you're interested.
I don't have the speakers you mentioned, but I have an iPod hi-fi and I removed the dock for my 30GB 5G iPod and inserted the #13 dock for the new nano and it is a very nice fit- the click wheel sort of disappears in the hollow of the dock a little- but other than that it fits well and the nano doesn't wobble around at all.
The new nano fits fine on my iPod hi-fi- it sits in almost perfectly upright on the connector. It looks like it should tilt back a little when you look at the angle of the connector on the speaker. Maybe try holding the nano very upright- it doesn't need to be forced on. Took me a few turns to get the angle correct.
Good luck. -
I WANT TO DOWN LOAD NEWEST VERSION OF FIRE FOX BUT AM HESITANT TIL I FIND OUT MORE THANKS, JOHN
John,
Firefox will work with any mouse and keyboard that your computer supports. However, if your computer will not support the mouse or keyboard. Let's say it's a Windows 7 Computer and the mouse was only tested up to Windows XP and is a USB mouse then there may be a case where your mouse will not work. Firefox will never not work with a mouse and keyboard. Remember thoe, if it's a USB Mouse and Keyboard and it says that it's compatible up to Windows XP it will not work on Windows 7 or if it does work it may not work well.
Thanks,
Scott -
WILL THE 1st GEN DOCK WORK WITH 2nd GEN NANO?
as the title states.... i think it will, but if anyone knows or has a logical idea, let me know. thanks.
The 2nd Gen Nano does only work with Apples universal dock.
For this product, you will find an adapter.
If you (like me) have purchased a Nano (1st Gen) dock - aka the small dock without audio/video/ir - then the 2nd Gen Nano does NOT fit in. The connector is slightly shifted and due to the round edges, you cannot insert it.
kind regards

Will the Bedford PowerSynch work with iTunes on a Windows machine vs using a Mac?
Do you mean the Bretford PowerSync cart or tray for iPads and iPods? If so, Bretford's web site lists only Mac OS X. You'll have to contact Bretford and ask if there's a workaround for Windows, or any plans to add Windows compatibility.
