Will the airport express bought in America will work in china

Will the airport express bought in america will work in china?

Potentially, but you will have to overcome at least two hurdles:
The power outlets used in China differ from those used in the US. The US Express can operate in a range of 100-240V AC, 50-60Hz. China typically uses 220V outlets ... so with the right outlet plug adapter you could operate the US Express there.
The allowed radio channels, on both the 2.4 & 5 GHz band, will also differ. Both governments and military institutions world-wide differ on how much they will tolerate operating a Wi-Fi network outside that particular country's restrictions. For the 2.4 GHz band, you should be okay if you operate your Express within channels 1-11. For the 5 GHz band, the channels that match between both countries are: 36, 40, 44, 48, 149, 153, 157, & 161.

I successfully reset the airport express once, got it set up, plugged in the new speakers, they worked for about 1 minute, then the blinking yellow error code started on the airport express.  Since then I have tried to do a hard reset numerous times and stil get the blinking yellow light.  Please help!

  • Airport Express USB printing suddenly not working

Hi, we have an airport express which doesn't seem to be working properly. We've had it at least 2 years now. All has been working fine but suddenly USB printing is not working on it. When I load up AirPort utility and go to the printers tab, it says "USB printers: None". It didn't use to say that! I've checked the printer - it works fine when printing direct from computer to printer over USB (hence both the printer and the USB lead are fine). We use the airport express for iTunes and it works fine. The airport is running version 6.3. We used to print (when it worked) from both Windows computers running XP and from macs running Snow Leopard...
    Any thoughts?
    Edward

    Erm... help!
In a bid to try to sort out the problem myself, I decided to restore the Airport Express (b/g) to the factory default and see if that helped... I did this through the airport utility. The airport reset fine and I then went through the set-up wizard. However, when it then tried to restart as part of the setup process, it said that there was an error and that it could not restart. It said to restart the airport utility and try again. This I did but it cannot see the airport. If I rescan, it says the same thing (unable to find any apple wireless devices). What should I do?
All thoughts and suggestions gratefully received!

  • I have a net gear wireless router and a APE working great inside the house, but the wireless signal is weak in the backyard, can I get a net gear extender for the back and it will also send my music to the airport express?

I have a net gear wireless router and a APE working great inside the house, but the wireless signal is weak in the backyard, can I get a net gear extender for the back yard and it will boost our wo
Ireless signal and also send my music to the airport express? Or does the airport express work as a stand alone hub?

Trust me when I say this coming from 20 years of experience.
Get a powered external drive, format it 1 Partition Option: GUID and OS X Extended Journed as the format in Disk Utility.
Download and install Carbon Copy Cloner, clone internal drive to external drive.
Set a schedule to remind you to do it at least once a week, keep it near your charger.
When you plug your charger in, do plug the clone and power the machine up, set the display to sleep only,
    CCC will do the rest.
If you want to boot from it, hold the option/alt and select it Startup Manager.
I've seen many TimeMachine and TimeCapsule nightmares and so far haven't seen a problem from anyone using a bootable clone.
It's simple, it's easy, it's more reliable and more powerful than what Apple does and it only takes plugging in a extra cable.
Make as many clones as you want, keep them time seperated, off site etc. etc.
Cables don't have network issues, clones can be verified in seconds merely by booting from them.
Clones protect your productivity, your up in seconds on a clone despite even the hard drive dying.
Software problem? No sweat, boot of the clone and reverse clone your problems away.
If you want to fuss and muss with half implemented TimeMachine and TimeCapsule network headaches then prepare to suffer.
I don't like to suffer, I bought a Mac not to suffer, but it appears you do with TimeMachine and TimeCapsule.

  • HT1947 The lastest app will pair with my 9.2.1 library but not control it. I refuse to use 10 as it has a feature that degrades the sound via the airport express so I no longer can use my library, any anwers? How can I get the older app back on my IOS 5 d

I have an Iphone 4 on the latest IOS 5 and latest 2.3 remote control app as I use Itunes 10 to manage the phone. Since version 10 of Itunes the airport express output has been degraded with a digital volume control so I refuse to use version 10 for my lossless audio. I specifically purchased the AE knowing that I would have pefect lossless digital audio to pass on to my high end music system (I understand that turning the volume to the maximum should have the same result but to me it just does not sound as good as with itunes 9). This step back with version 10 of Itunes has made me determined to stay with Itunes 9.2.1 Now I find that the upgraded version of the remote control app will not pair with or control a 9.2.1 library. Does anyone have a solution that does not involve using Itunes 10 to stream my audio under the control of the Iphone. I would dearly love to just go back to an older version of the iphone app but again how can that be done? Or better still have the option in Itunes 10 to have garanteed bit perfect output to airport devices as many people would really appreciate this as true lossless audio is essential for many serious music lovers.
Kind regards from a disappointed apple owner and dedicated music listener.

Strangely enough the pref file did not show up in the Preferences folder.  I don't know what this means but it could be signifigant.

  • I have both Apple and Android devices. My Android devices will not stay connected to wireless . I have the Airport Express. The Android devices are a Galaxy S4 and Tab 3. These both worked perfectly on my ancient Linksys WRT 120 N wireless router.

I have called Apple support twice and no one can confrm or deny as to whether Android devices can connect with the Airport Express. I have had the it configured 3 times so far and my Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 are useless with the Airport Express.

BTW what did you mean by using my old wireless router as a AP?
Every Wireless router ever made is actually made of two components..
A router and a wireless AP. (AP = Access Point).
To use any wireless router as a AP you simply bypass or turn off the router..
In an Apple router this is called Bridge mode..
In many routers it is known as AP or WAP mode.
But often they do not have the option..
Set it up manually.. we call this WAN bypass as it will bypass the router.
So what you do is open your wireless router setup page in your browser.. go to the LAN setup page.
You need to do two things.
    1. Turn off the dhcp server.
    2. Set the LAN IP to match the main router..
For instance if your plug it into your apple router and it is at the default IP.. 10.0.1.1 then set the Linksys to 10.0.1.254
The Linksys is then updated.. Plug the ethernet cable from LAN port apple router to LAN port WRT120 (not WAN)
Now with a computer plugged into the apple router or into the Linksys .. by ethernet.. open the IP address you just set.. go to the wireless tab in the setup and give the wireless SSID a suitable name for your other (non-apple) products.. voila.. you have now turned a wireless router into an AP.

  • Will the airport express in the future also be available with the 802.11ac?

will the airport express also be available with the 802.11ac technology in the future?

Apple as the most secretive company in the world keep their loyal customers in the dark and feed them a diet of .. well .. I cannot write its proper name.. but are you feeling like a mushroom??
They never tell until it is released.. but you can assume yes.. but the latest express was released last year.. in June.. the previous model had a lifespan of 4 years.. and the one before that, 4years.

If the pattern holds true there will be a new one in June, 2016.

  • Will the AirPort Express Base Station create a wifi connection that will enable me to wirelessly connect to XBOX live on my xbox 360

will the AirPort Express Base Station create a wifi connection that will enable me to wirelessly connect to XBOX live on my xbox 360

Yes, but not in all cases with it provide your with an "Open NAT" condition that some on-line gaming require. However, for most Xbox LIVE access, it should work just fine.

  • I have a Time Capsule as my main WiFi router in my home.  I'd like to extend my WiFi service to my guest house located approx 100 feet away. Will the AirPort Express fill this need?  Is the AirPort Extreme a better fit?

I am using a Time Capsule in conjunction with my IMAC 27" system as my main WiFi router in my home.  I would like to extend my WiFi service to my guest house which is located about 100 feet away.  Can I use the Airport Express to provide this extended range?  Would I be better served to use the Airport Extreme?  Thanks!

The normal location for an AirPort Express or AirPort Extreme is a point that is about half way between the main router....the Time Capsule in this case.....and the area that needs more wireless coverage.....the guest house.
I doubt that you will be able to locate an AirPort at this "half way" point, correct?
Before you buy anything, take a laptop, iPhone, iPad, etc out to the guest house as a test to see if you can log on and get a reliable Internet connection over the wireless.
If you can, then either an AirPort Express or AirPort Exreme could  be used to provide additional wireless signal coverage in the guest house.
If you cannot get a reliable connection with the "test" mentionded above, neither AirPort will help since they can only "extend" the quality of signal that they receive.
If this is the case, you will need to look at running an Ethernet cable from the Time Capsule out to the guest house to provide the reliable connection that you will need.

  • Will the airport express solve my playstation 3 drama???

Hello. I am in dire need of assistance with getting connected to the playstation network. Here's my situation. My wife and I rent the inlaw suite (apartment) connected to my wife's grandmothers house. Currently we have FIOS for our internet. The FIOS modem/router is in the main part of the house down in the basement. I am able to connect to the internet with my macbook on our network, however my ps3 slim struggles to receive 35-40% signal strength and will not connect. Two nights ago, it actually, successfully passed both the obtaining an IP address, and connecting to the internet tests, but timed out after trying to get the 3.15 system update. Today I purchased a Belkin Wireless N router in hopes of finally being able to enjoy online gaming. No such luck. The guy at bestbuy suggested the Belkin, however after reading a few forums and speaking to someone at Sony, I found out that playstation doesn't support N routers. Only B and G. So, my question to the people out there is this...what router should I get that is easy to setup, given my arrangements? If I purchased the airport express, would I be able to connect my ps3 to either my exsisting network, or a new network on its own?
Thank you for any and all help
    Bryan

    Welcome to the discussions!
The AirPort Express would not be compatible with the Fios router to "extend" or "boost" the wireless signal, so no help on that front.
The Express can "join" a wireless network and provide an ethernet signal at its port to in theory, if the Playstation accepts an ethernet connection, you could connect that way. The big downside here is that the Express will have a weak wireless signal to receive and some of the signal will be lost in the conversion to ethernet, so I would not recommend this approach.
If the Playstation will accept an ethernet connection, you might take a look at a pair of ethernet powerline adapters. One device would plug into an AC socket near the Fios router and the other plugs into AC near the Playstation. The AC wiring in your home transmits the ethernet signal. This would provide a much stronger and faster signal than wireless.
Best of all would be run an ethernet cable directly from the Fios router to the Playstation, but this is probably not feasible. Powerline would be the next best bet.

  • Will the Airport Express work with the iPhone minus a PC/mac? If so how??

I no longer have my mac mini but have a new PC. I also have a 2nd gen iphone with the 3.0 software. I just bought a airport express and thought I could, via bluetooth, use my iphone in leau of a computer to control my itunes thru the living room stereo system. In other words, use my iphone as both the itunes library and the controller for the living room setup. Can this work? Or do I have to still run it thru my PC? Someone with expierence with this please help!! My email address is [email protected] thanks, Bill.

I just bought a airport express and thought I could, via bluetooth, use my iphone in leau of a computer to control my itunes thru the living room stereo system.
No that is not possible. The iPhone connects to the AirPort Express (AX) via 802.11b/g not Bluetooth.
In other words, use my iphone as both the itunes library and the controller for the living room setup. Can this work?
No. There is no way to stream music wirelessly from the iPhone to the AX.
Or do I have to still run it thru my PC?
    Yes

  • Will the Airport Express pass 24/96 audio?

Does the airport express support 24 bit audio? Anything higher? I've looked all over and can't seem to get a definitive answer.

You are partially correct in your answer. It is true
that iTunes 4.6+ atm is limited to 16-bit (strange as
other Apple music apps., e.g. logic express, can
easily perform 24-bit/ 32-bit!), however, the
    third-party application Nicecast (RogueAmoeba) can
provide a 24-bit stream to an Express.
    Thanks Ewen,
Now, what do you make of this statement which comes from the same article:
"When you play 32kHz or 48kHz data, iTunes sample-rate-converts the data in real time before sending it to the AE. I tried using the Nicecast utility for OSX ($40) to feed iTunes with 24-bit data and 88.2kHz data from the inexpensive but excellent Amadeus audio-editing program for OSX. High-speed files were played back at half speed and hi-rez data were truncated to 16 bits, according to RME's useful DigiCheck utility for the PC."
Not sure what original poster is interested in, but his/her post caught my attention as I am looking to put together a home theater system.
