Will the Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 work for prem pro?

Will the Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 work in prem pro. The one in adobe's recommended list does not have an 'X' in the card description?

Yes, the GTX 760 will work nicely with Premiere on the PC. What version? With CS6, you may need to delete the "cuda_supported_cards.txt" file from the Adobe folder.

  • Compatibility of Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 Ti for Premiere Pro

    Hi,
I am upgrading my workstation and plan to buy a good quality graphic card which will support smooth editing of 1080p footage and some after effects rendering.
I chose GTX 780 Ti but unfortunately in the compatibility list provided by Adobe, only GTX 780 is supported. So if GTX 780 Ti is used, can I use the Mercury Playback Engine and take full advantage of the graphic card?
Also is my select correct? I was at first confused selecting between Nvidia  Quadro K4200 and GTX 780 Ti. I will not be using Maya or 3D Max. Only Premiere Pro, After Effects and sometimes Da Vinci Resolve will be used.
    Thanks,
    Srijit

Yeah, it works great as mentioned in the table with recommended video cards, if you have at least:
An overclocked I7 6+ core CPU, or Dual E5 6+ core CPU's, and
    64+ GB RAM, and
800+ MB/s transfer rates on all volumes.
Otherwise it is overkill and the card will be idle most of the time. See Tweakers Page - Exporting Style

  • HP Pavilion p6510f Desktop intermittent failures - Antec 25 430 WATT Power & NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 650

After installing a new power supply and video card (Antec 25 430 WATT Power & NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 650), my system became unstable.  It worked fine for the first 3-4 hours then had a BSOD (blue screen of death) with kernel_data_inpage_error 0000007A and later a critical process failure 000000F4.  I've done all of the tests listed on this page as well as removed and replaced the cmos battery:
    http://www.faultwire.com/solutions-fatal_error/KERNEL-DATA-INPAGE-ERROR-0x0000007A-*1137.html
All of the tests passed and no problems were found and yet the system still fails after 3-4 hours of use.
So, I removed everything from my system and restored it to it's original settings.  It seems to be back to normal now (but, we'll see for how long).
This experience has demoralized me.  This is due to the fact that I've heard of others having difficulties trying to upgrade their systems.  Seems like there is about a 50% success rate unless you know what works from past experience.  I feel that the only way to get a system that has good graphics now is a well tested gaming box (PS3, XBOX, or Wii).  Is there any recommended or possibly well tested setups for this type of system that could give me the quality of a GEFORCE GTX 650 without causing blue screens or cause instability for my computer?
Since this computer comes with ATI and AMD parts, I presume maybe getting an ATI or AMD graphics card would work?  Regardless of the graphics card, the 250W power that comes with this system would most likely need to be replaced.  Are there are any power supplys that you recommend or possibly tested?
I realize there are a few questions in this post, but I have one more.  Are there any motherboard analysis tools to enusre nothing has gone wrong with the mother board?  When the blue screens were occurring it seemed to make strange noises from the hard drive as it it were thrashing and after rebooting it would sometimes fail to recognize the existance of the hard drive as well.  Since all of the hard drive tests were successful (I also ran SeaTools), this leads me to believe that the power is inssuficient, but I'm now fearful that if I upgrade the power it will only cause more problems.

So, using the standard setup still makes strange noises at various intervals, but not as frequently.  I have a bad feeling that it has caused disk drive problems based on the fact that:
    1)  Strange noises are now occuring during particular load times (although rarely)
    2)  Computer crashes (although, it no longer crashes now that I'm back in it's regular setup)
    3)  Occassionall it has really slow access times
These symptoms fall into the category of a failing drive based on the following site:
    http://www.lifehack.org/articles/technology/how-to-tell-when-your-hard-drive-is-going-to-fail.html
I'm going to return the power supply and game card and look to investing in a new hard drive in case this one finally decides to go to valhalla.

  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti Mecury GPU Acceleration CS5.5

    Hi all!
I am having problems with my GTX 285, so i am looking to upgrade it. I have found the GeForce GTX 650 Ti card quite cheap, but i need to know, does the Premiere Pro CS5.5 Mecury GPU Playback engine support this card? It ain't listed in the list of supported cards, but it's an Nvidia card so i just wanted to be sure I also need to know: is the new cards on the list, that was added in CS6 also supported on CS5.5?
    Thank you in advance

Sorry to say this but your AMD CPU is not a fast CPU when it comes to video editing.  If you search around on our 1100 record data base of PPBM5 benchmarks the fastest AMD single chip unit ranks at 502 out of those 1100 tested configuration.  This is because AMD does not have some of the latest SSE 4.2 instructions on the chip.  This is why Intel is so highly recommended for video editing.  If you are using any of the MPE accelerated effects or features an you want the highest quality encoding with minimum encoding time you need an nVidia GPU

Been using the same setup since CS5 with the Mercury CUDA running perfectly. The LAST line make me chucle because it the first on the list of supported card in the "cuda_supported_cards.txt" file. Anybody else seen this?

    Hi Wendell,
Sorry for the inconvenience. NVIDIA is currently working on drivers that support CUDA on Mavericks 10.9 with some of the older NVIDIA cards such as the GTX 285 and the Quadro 4800.
For others interested, the Quadro 4000, K5000 and GTX 680 ect... work with CUDA in 10.9.

If it's not on the system requirements list, then After Effects won't use it for GPU acceleration of the ray-traced 3D renderer. Read this page for details about what this means:

  • My new PC runs WIn.8.1 plus,..Will the latest version of Quick Time work for me?

I have a recent PC running Windows8.1plus, ..what version of Quick Time do I need?..Will it work?

    Hi robertfromsalt spring island,
    Happy Holidays!
The resource below will explain how to uninstall and re-install Quicktime for Windows if you are having issues with the software.
iTunes 10.5 or later for Windows: Older media files may require QuickTime - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-is/HT203459
With iTunes 10.5 or later, QuickTime isn't included when you install iTunes. Although media content purchased or rented from the iTunes Store doesn't need QuickTime to play, you may have older media files that require QuickTime.
    Install QuickTime
If you already have QuickTime installed, you may have to uninstall and reinstall QuickTime.
    Download QuickTime.
    Double-click the downloaded file.
Follow the directions in the QuickTime Installer to complete the installation.
Uninstall QuickTime on Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8
    Quit QuickTime if it's open.
From the Start menu, click Control Panel.
In Control Panel, click "Uninstall a program." The Programs and Features Control Panel will open.
If you don't see the "Uninstall a program" link, click Programs and Features.
Select QuickTime from the list of currently installed programs and click Uninstall.
When asked if you would like to remove QuickTime, click Yes.
    Restart your computer.
I hope this information helps ....

  • Anyone experience flashing a NVIDIA GEFORCE 8800ULTRA (PC-version) for Mac Pro 3.1 ...?

I have a NVIDIA GeForce 8800ULTRA (that I bought new, a few years ago, for my PC) that I would like to use (if possible) for my Mac Pro 3.1
    I know... There are 8800GT's for the Mac Pro 1.1 & 2.1 ...
But the 8800ULTRA was the flagship, so I would like to use it for my Mac Pro, if possible.
Anyone experience in flashing video cards...?

As the User Tip indicates, there are tradeoffs. It will not work "just like a genuine Mac" card:
If you are Meet ALL of these:
    • running 10.8.3 or later AND
    • don't care about "no boot screens" etc AND
    • can re-wire or otherwise "work out" the power cabling, THEN:
You can use many more cards, even most "PC-only cards".

  • Is the better NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4GB GDDR5 worth it?

Just a year ago, having 2GB of video ram was considered pretty massive.  Now we can upgrade the standard iMac to this 4GB card (when ordering new).  Wondering if anyone has any views about whether or not I will notice any benefit in real world rather than benckmark tests, compared to the 775m card.  I will be using Final Cut Pro X, Photoshop, Aperture and some other graphics stuff, but no gaming to speak of and no 3D rendering.

I take your point about future needs, but at the same time, if the 2GB card was the top end just a year ago, then I wonder if the faster card makes a real difference at all.
Mende1, I'm saying that I will be using all those apps snf I'm using them all for my work, so seroius work, but can't ever imagine editing 4k video and no 3d rendering.  I will edit in 1920 HD though.

    Dear Ms. Andersen:
Evga handles GeForce GTX 680 MX. Apple has nothing to do with it. However, I can try to help you a little bit
go here for Evga's Mac support: http://www.evga.com/support/download/default.aspx
This is one of those video cards that needs 2 power cables connected to the mother board for it to work propertly. It needs 195 watts of power, which  the PCI-E slot will not provide on its own. If you have the power cables connected up okay, then the only advice I can give you is to telephone EVGA and see about a possible replacement.  Apple's policy, as I understand it, is to replace same with same, even if you have the money and are willing to pay extra. This is a 3rd party video card and as such, Apple is not responsible for any problems wth it.  I don't understand either: based on my knowledge of Norwegian,  your screen size is 1280x800 and your bit depth  is 32 bit, and you have 2 gigs Vram, so you should have no problem.
maybe you have a bad card
    good luck to you

  • NVidia Geforce GTX Titan compatibility

Right now I'm using CS5 and want to upgrade to CS6.  I would much rather upgrade my card and my software rather than just the video card. Before I buy the new nVidia Geforce GTX Titan for my system, I would like to know it will be compatible. I haven't seen it on the list of suggested cards, but it is fairly new. It seems to be the card to get, but the Quadro 6000 is what is recommended. The specs for the 6000 seems to be far lower (by over half) than the Titan, so I am not sure why I would buy it, except that it is definitely compatible with other nVidia Pro Video cards. I don't use SDI since I am using cards to shoot video and I use my computer for Post-Production. I also use Blender 2.66 for 3D design and animation in conjunction with AE and Premiere to clean up, edit and render out video. I am using a Quadro FX 5800 for my video card, but it is quickly becoming a dinosaur, which is pretty amazing to me that it lasted this long in the tech world.  I realize this seems like an nVidia question, but it straddles both companies. Since nVidia has worked closely with Adobe for so long, I was just wondering if anyone knows. The Titan seems to run circles around the 6000 for half the price. How I would end up using the Titan would be as an engine and use the 5800 as the display card to allow the card to be maximized.

Just wondering if you read my reply ?
Looks like I can upgrade the memory with 24GB of G. Skill Ripjaw series DDR3 1600 for about $200.
    Looks like a good plan.
The i7 can be upgraded to the 990X for about $1000 (and overclocked less than my 950)
and overclocking the 950 to 4.0 - 4.4 GHZ is free, saves you around $ 1000 and is about equally fast.
and the nVidia card upgrade to the Titan for about $1100.
which is absolute overkill on this system. You will not notice the difference with a 660 Ti for around $ 250.
Include the $375 for the upgrade to CS6 and I'm under $2700.
AFAIK the upgrade from CS5.5 to CS6 is $ 525 in the US and around $ 900 in Europe.
    If you follow my advise, the total cost is $ 200 + $ 0 + $ 250 + $ 525 = $ 975.
That saving goes a long way for a new system, but you still would have to get that Samsung 840 Pro SSD.

  • S10 and Nvidia GeForce GTX 280

    Hi
I just bought a S10 model 6423-45G and a Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 280. The problem is that the powersurply only comes with 2 x 6 PIN power connectors for the graficcard but this new graficcard needs 1 x 6 PIN and 1 x 8 PIN power connector. Is there any S10 models on the market with 1 x 6 PIN and 1 x 8 PIN power connectors at this point in time or is the only solution to put in some power convert to support this graficcard?
