Will the hdmi adapter mirrors everything from the ipad to the tv?

I want to buy a HDMI dock converter for ipad2 on ebay but it says that it do not support to display web pages on tv. I find this weird because, will the hdmi converter mirrors everything from the ipad to the tv?

The Apple Digital AV Adapter only output to TV. It cannot be tethered to a camera.

Can i transfer everything from one ipad to another so both have exactly the same things?

Yes. Copy your apps and other iTunes purchases/downloads to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases if you have iTunes 11 on your computer), then backup up the first iPad and restore that backup onto the second iPad.
    Backups and restores : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4079
Things that aren't included in a backup include the contents of the Music and Videos apps (but they should be on your computer's iTunes) and photos that were synced from a computer. Also you will need to enter your passwords (email, wifi, website) on the second iPad - they won't be restored onto a different device, only back onto the device that the backup came from.

My iPad mini won't install the latest update because there isn't enough stprGe. I have deleted everything from my iPad and there still isn't enough storge.

Connect your iPad to your computer and run iTunes. Select your iPad in iTunes and try to run the update there. Updating requires a lot less free space on the iPad when updating through iTunes on a computer because the update files will be downloaded to and extracted on the computer.

I plugged in my wife's iPad.  Both ipads have the same apple id and password. iTunes synced everything from my iPad to my wife's iPad. Now we have two identical iPads looking like mine. Everything on her ipad seems gone and replaced with mine, all her recent holiday photos, emails, settings, etc etc seem gone.

  • How do I get the iPad to continue to back up using the 5G free iCloud when it tells me it cannot back up anymore even though I have deleted almost everything from my iPad?

The iPad keeps telling me that there is no more room to backup. I have deleted almost everything from my iPad and yet I still get the same message.....cannot back up. I do NOT want to purchase more G's as I regularly download all important photos, videos, notes and such onto my iMac. I would like to keep to the free 5 G's iCloud space. Shall I also delete apps that I don't use much, magazines even though there are not any active issue on my iPad?
Thanks for any help you can give.

No, you did not have to delete anything.
You don't understand how iCloud works
ICloud does NOT backup anything purchased from iTunes (music, apps, movies, podcasts)
ICloud only backs up your personal data.
Camera roll, contacts, documents, app data and personal information and settings
This is how your manage your iCloud account:
    1.    Transfer your pictures and video from camera roll to your computer, Dropbox, or Box for iOS .   These are free apps for iPad and Mac and provide online storage for your photos and documents.
Once your pictures are safely stored.....
    2.   Go to settings
    iCloud
    Storage and backup
    Manage storage
(Choose your device if you have more than one)
    Show all apps
Now go down the list and turn off switch for camera roll and any other app that you do not need to save data for.
Apps are listed with the largest first.
If you have several devices sharing iCloud (as I do) you may want to only backup the important device and important app data.

  • HDMI Adapter no longer charges new iPad ?

I bought a shiny new iPad 3rd Gen, and am having difficulties with my existing Apple HDMI Adapter, which, apart from the "This accessory is not supported" popup, will not charge the device even when being plugged to an iPad Power Adapter. Have any of you guys encountered this problem ? Any sollutions ?
    Thanks,
    Darie

I don't have an iPad-3 but this makes no sense.  It's just a matter of wires routing to the iPad.  Perhaps you might clean the connectors by disconnecting/connecting several times.

  • RELIABLE Way To Mirror Content From An iPad?

    Hello,
I am looking for a RELIABLE way to mirror content from my iPad 3 to an HDTV; specifically from the applications of DirecTV, Dish Anywhere, or Showtime Anytime. HBO Go does indeed support AirPlay, but none of the others for now. I do see Apple has an 30-pin-to-HDMI cable to do this with, but also see allot of complaints because of the HDCP voodoo that is involved and only allowing certain content to be mirrored. Yup, it is all such a technological moving target when Hollywood lawyers are involved.
Unless someone has more information, it looks like my best bet "currently" is to use Apple's 30-pin-to-component cable for the most consistent (yet not as crisp) audio/video to my HDTV. Please weigh in with your firsthand experience especially.
BTW, does anyone know of any pending changes to this issue with iOS 7?
“Technological change is like an axe in the hands of a pathological criminal.” (Albert Einstein, 1941),
    Dr. Z.

Thanks for that suggestion and yes, I do have AppleTV, but I am still unable to get some of the applications mentioned above to mirror to my HDTV. HA, in fact, how else whould I get AirPlay to work with my HDTV?
Once again, I am looking for an across the technological board way to mirror any audio/video content from my iPad 3 to my HDTV. No copyright protection hurdles, no HDMI handshake frustrations, no inconsitant digital dropouts.
    Thanks,
    Dr. Z.

The iPhone 4 does not support mirroring.
However, you can still output video from supported Apps using the adapter. Apps such as the videos App, and the Phots App in slideshow mode will output video through the adapter.

  • HDMI adapter does not work on IPad 2.  Not unique to this cable or to my ipad

I bought the apple branded HDMI adapter for my new IPad 2.  When I plug it in it will give me a black screen and will, at most, very very sporadically flash the ipad screen for about one second then go back to black.  Before assisting please read below to see what I have tried already:
I tried the cable on 2 different IPad2s and an original IPad.
I tried a different cable of the same design on 2 different IPad2s
I tried using both cables on two different tvs and using two different hdmi cables
    I also tried powering off
I also tried running for-sure-supposed-to-work apps (although the IPad2 should mirror so that was unnecessary too).
I took to the Apple Store and they had no clue what was going on either.  Anyone know if this adapter is just a defective product in general?  What other things can I do to put my IPad on the tv...it was a large part of why I bought it.

Don't know if this will help, but this is the procedure I use to get mine to work:
Insert HDMI cable into TV port.
With TV on, select input to HDMI port on the TV that the cable is connected to.
With the iPad in sleep mode attach adapter with HDMI cable and power adapter connected to iPad.
Turn iPad on (take out of sleep mode).
This works for me every time.
Also heard that a while ago Apple produced a batch of bad HDMI adapters.  This could have happened again or not all the bad ones got sent back.

How Do I Get Rid Of The “Other” Data Stored On My iPad Or iPhone?
    http://tinyurl.com/85w6xwn
With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

  • Buying new iPad2. How to get everything from current iPad?

I'm considering getting the new iPad 2. I'd like to get more storage, plus the iMovie support, camera etc may be worth it. Size, weight really isn't a big deal to me.
I searched, but couldn't find this.
Assuming I get a new one, can I just do a 'restore' from my current iPad to the new one?
    Will that work?
I'd like to get all the stuff I have now on the new one as easily as possible.

    pvonk wrote:
That's a good question - if the iPad 2 comes with additional software that the iPad 1 doesn't have, am I right in thinking that a restore will blow away any new, pre-installed apps, essentially getting a clone of your current iPad?
No it won't. The pre-installed apps will always be there. When I upgraded from my iphone 3G to an iphone 4, it restored all my apps and data. It did not wipe out the pre-installed apps.
On the other hand, you can check off the apps (in iTunes) that you want installed on the new iPad and sync - but unless I'm wrong, that won't get data used by the apps and all your other settings like mail accounts, etc.
It will transfer your settings and data from your apps over to your new ipad. I forgot to mentioned in my previous post that it will not transfer any e-mail messages that you had in your previous ipad.
I am basing this on the iphone model as it should work the same.

  • HT1386 I have original songs on my iPad that were synced with iTunes on my PC.  PC crashed and all data was lost.  How can I sync everything from my iPad to my new PC?

I need to get songs from my iPad to my PC as all songs on my PC were lost when PC crashed.

You should be able to copy iTunes purchases to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. For music purchased from other sites or copied from CDs, then have you not got a copy of them on a backup (e.g. an external drive) ? If not then you'll need to find a third-party program that can copy them off the iPad

  • I need to transfer everything from my iPad 2 to a brand new iPad 2. I've done my backup to iTunes. Can someone please help me with the rest? I don't know if I have a sim card. Both iPads are 2nd gen., 64 GB, and have 3G. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I have an iPad 2 that is defective. Apple has replaced it with a new one. First off, how do I know if I have a Sim card?  Secondly, I backed up my old iPad the other night (iPad plugged into iTunes).  Can somebody help me and explain how I set up my new iPad now? Then how do I register it with my new serial number, etc.?  Any and all help is appreciated.  I'm not mechanically inclined, so to speak, so if anyone can make it easy on me it would be greatly appreciated. By the way, my iPad 2 is a 64 GB with WiFi and 3G. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

You need to restore your iPad from iTunes.
    Start iTunes.
Plug in your iPad using the USB cable.
Click on the iPad in the left hand column under "Devices".
In the "Summary" tab, there are options to Back up, Update and Restore.
Choose Restore, choose the backup and let it run.

If your old iPad was capable of receiving data on the go, without wifi, then you have a SIM installed. Best to check anyway. You need either the tool supplied in the box, or the end of a paper clip to open the tray
