Will the iBook suit my computing needs?

It's not so much that my iMac is getting old, but I'm really starting to crave portability. The 14" iBook looks tempting, but I'm not sure it's right for me. I'd love to have your opinions on a few concerns:
1. The Macworld review mentions that the 14" screen looks fuzzy, because it's the same number of pixels as the 12", just filling a bigger space. Have any of you found that to be true?
2. I'm an idiot when it comes to screen resolution. If I buy an LCD monitor to use with the iBook, am I going to have problems because of the comparatively low resolution of the iBook? Will everything look sharp and crisp on, say, a 19" monitor?
3. I use my iMac for mail, surfing, iTunes, iPhoto, Photoshop Elements, playing DVDs, and plan to get into iMovie and iDVD. Will I be OK with an iBook, or should I think about a Powerbook? Is the iBook going to feel slow or limited compared to my iMac? I'd definitely bump the RAM up to the full 1.5 GB on the iBook.

I just got the 14" iBook - i wanted the superdrive, and i don't have any problems with the text - it doesn't seem fuzzy at all to me. could be because my old gateway laptop also had the same size screen about and same resolution so it didn't bother me then either. i thought the 12" just looked too small for me even if they do both have the same resolution. i haven't hooked up the 19" monitor i have for my pc desktop *poor computer just is sitting there now since i got my iBook - i feel so bad esp since it's a custom built by me* and i run tons of stuff all the time on my iBook like i do on my desktop - i love multi-tasking and running 5-milllion things at once and the 512mb ram the iBook comes with doesn't slow down at all - though i'll be bumping up to either 1 or 1.5gb anyways good luck

For the Malaysia App Store, will the Books content ever be expanded to include mainstream titles? Currently available are mostly classic novels.

We are just fellow users on here, we won't know until if/when Apple announce something. But before Apple can sell an item in a particular country's store they need to be granted a license from the content provider e.g. the book publisher.

HT5225 Will the iCal on my computer no longer store my information?

After I move to iCloud without all my devices being compatable, will my iCal on my laptop still store my information and function. Also, as long as I manually plug my iPod in, will it still sync my calendar events?

Unfortunately, unless you update your computer to Lion (10.7.2 or better) you won't be able to sync your calendars on your computer with those on your devices running iCloud. You can still access your iCloud calendar though through iCloud.com on the web browser on your computer.

Will the creative suite CS5 work on yosemite

I'm just wondering if Photoshop CS5, After Effects CS5, Illustrater CS5, etc. will work in OS X 10.10 Yosemite.
I'd love to upgrade but right now i'm a little bit scared of not being able to use my creative suite anymore after installing yosemite.

Most likely not, though the latest Beta at least seems to have fixed the install issues. Either way, you are on your own - it's called a Beta for a reason and Adobe does not support legacy versions one way or the other...

I have a Time Capsule as my main WiFi router in my home. I'd like to extend my WiFi service to my guest house located approx 100 feet away. Will the AirPort Express fill this need? Is the AirPort Extreme a better fit?

Can I use the Airport Express to provide this extended range? Would I be better served to use the Airport Extreme? Thanks!

The normal location for an AirPort Express or AirPort Extreme is a point that is about half way between the main router....the Time Capsule in this case.....and the area that needs more wireless coverage.....the guest house.
I doubt that you will be able to locate an AirPort at this "half way" point, correct?
Before you buy anything, take a laptop, iPhone, iPad, etc out to the guest house as a test to see if you can log on and get a reliable Internet connection over the wireless.
If you can, then either an AirPort Express or AirPort Exreme could be used to provide additional wireless signal coverage in the guest house.
If you cannot get a reliable connection with the "test" mentionded above, neither AirPort will help since they can only "extend" the quality of signal that they receive.
If this is the case, you will need to look at running an Ethernet cable from the Time Capsule out to the guest house to provide the reliable connection that you will need.

This to me seems like a no brainer..... iBooks should be available on all Mac OS'. Just seems silly that I can read it on my iPad and iPhone but not my iMac. What is Apple waiting for and when will it be available.

But I do agree with you. I would like to be able to read them on my Mac as well.

Will the Creative Suite CS6 run well on the latest MacBook Air?

I am in the market for a mac and I would like to know how much performance would I be sacrificing for portability in choosing an Air. I currently run a Dell Studio 15 with a 1st-gen Quad-core i7 1.6gHz with 8GB of RAM. Obviously I cannot compare the two for various reasons, so that is just a gauge for what I am accostomed to. I have been told that an Air can run Photoshop, but not everyone pushes the program to the same degree or in the same way. Is there a quantifiable threshold for what the MacBook Air can handle in Photoshop, such as performance editing RAW files vs performance doing 3D work or Animation work? How does it perform running Photoshop and say, Illustrator, at the same time?
I understand it may be too soon to tell...

I am presenting the eBusiness Suite and I need to include some history of the product(s). What would help is a rough idea of dates and new features for each version since 10.x.

The readme for the 11.5.9 maintenance pack is the best place to start.
We were on 11.5.7, there were 13 pre-requisite patches.
We also carried out an upgrade to 9iR2 RDBMS, Jinititaor 1.3.1.9 & iAS 1.0.2.2.2.
11.5.9 is quite old, you will probably want to install 11.5.9.2 & other more recent Mini Packs patches and bug fixes. In our case about 30 additional patches.
You will need to run the process a few times in order to finialise the list of patches and to get some timing data.

How to use the pathfinder suite

Could anybody give me an example of using the pathfinder suite.
I need to use the DoDivideEffect function inside a plugin and I don't know how to initialize the AIPathfinderData and the AIFilterMessage structures.
I have read the sdk documentation but I need a concrete example. The Adobe documentation is very poor.

You need to go to the gear wheel at the top left of the panel and select Customize and then check the box for digits or math or whatever you want to add.

That's weird, in another separate response, someone said that the iPad was compatible and showed through pictures that it indeed fit on the charger & played music. I guess I will have no choice but to unpack the clock radio & see for myself. Thanks for your response.

Help-"Suite Product Activation Needed"-Acrobat Pro CS5

Hello.
I searched the forums but no one seems to have this problem (or I missed it).
See enclosed JPEG. It says,
"Suite Product Activation Needed
Adobe Acrobat was installed as part of a suite. To enable Adobe Acrobat, please start another component of this suite (such as Adobe Photoshop)."
Yes, I entered in the CS5 serial number and activated the suite through Photoshop. Yes, I entered in the separate serial number for Acrobat. It was accepted but then gives me the activation error. Yes, I tried deactivating CS5, rebooted, reactivated CS5, relaunched Photoshop CS5, relaunched Acrobat, and... same error.
Anyone have a solution? (other than trying to uninstall and reinstall the Suite which I really don't want to do)

I was having the same problem, having just migrated CS5 Design Standard to OS X 10.7, Acrobat 9 stopped working and gave the error 'Suite Product Activation Needed' which did not work...
a (very helpful) discussion on livechat with Adobe suggested:
1. changing the name of cache.db in Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD to cache.old, then trying to start Acrobat
if that did not work, try
2. deleting the FlexNet Publisher folder in Library/Application Support, which when you try to start Acrobat should now allow you to re-enter the serial number
worked for me, anyway...
