Will the iPad 4, 9 pin dock, fit in the iPad 3 30pin dock shape smart case?

Will the iPad 4, 9 pin dock, fit in the iPad 3 30pin dock shape smart case?

Apple themselves list the fourth-gen iPad as compatible with the Smart Case, so the answer would seem to be "yes", though I haven't tried it personally.
Regards.

  • Ipad cannot connect on dock with smart case

purchased new iPad with a smart case and the dock.  The iPad does not fit on the dock with the smart case on.
You must remove the case to be able to connect.  Hopefully Apple will look into this as it is quite annoying to have
    to remove the case.

Facetime doesn't work on an iPad 2 3G; only using wifi. You need a newer iPad.

  • Will the iwatch come in different shapes other than the square shape shown.

Will it come in different shapes? I love the round or circular shape of the Moto 360, so I would love to see a circular watch for iPhone.

I have heard they will only come in a Triangular Shape. May be a rumour, but so will most everything else be until it is actually released.

  • Charging dock for iPad Air 2 with smart case?

Anyone know of any charging docks or stations that will fit with an iPad Air 2 with a smart case?

Try a reset by holding the power and home keys down until the Apple logo appears.

  • IPad Smart Case has no support?

I received my iPad Smar Case today and have been using it for a few hours.
It has absolutely no support - when I roll back the top cover and put it at the higher angle ( / like this), I can barely touch the screen witout the whole thing falling back.
I can't press the home button either because it falls over even before I actually press it.
I asked around a bit and aparently the Smart Cover does not have this problem.
    Did I get a faulty/damaged product?

I think I totally misworded the original post.
I am using the cover part rolled back in a triangle, not straight. And no, you could not have been using the same cover for a year because it only came out a few days ago, because I am talking about the smart case, not the cover.
By / this what I meant was, you know how there are two angles you can put the smart case/cover at when it's rolled back in a triangle. A lower angle at about 15degrees and a higher angle at about 75 degrees? When I roll back the top cover part of my smart case and put it at the higher angle so the iPad looks like / this from the side, the smart case gives absolutely no support - I can't press the home button as I have mentioned, ket alone freely touch the screeb for other uses.
I was wondering if the smart covers were like this at the steeper angles too, and if not, if anyone thinks that my oroduct is damaged.
    Thanks!

  • Will the iPad 3 cases fit the new iPad 4?

Is the width, height, depth, size same????????? or is the size a little different?

The physical dimensions are the same and all cases that work with the iPad '3' will also work with the iPad '4'.  The center of the Lightning port is in the same location as the 30-pin dock connector center so while the opening may be larger than necessary when a '4' is placed in a '3' case it will work fine.

iPad 2 cases don't work with 4th generation or 3rd generation iPad
The reason that some iPad 2 cases won't work with iPad '3/iPad '4' and some do is two-fold.  First, the iPad '3'/'4' is a bit thicker which may cause a tighter than optimum fit--depending upon the case style.  Stretchable cases won't be much of a problem, hard shell cases could be.
The second reason is because the iPad 2 only has a position requirement for the magnets to engage the on/off function, it does not also have a polarity requirement for the magnets as does the iPad '3'/'4'.  If the polarity randomly happens to be a match it will work.  If not it won't.
So to sum it up, if it is advertised to work with the iPad '3' or '4' it will work with the iPad 2 though the fit might be a little bit loose with some case styles.  If it was built expressly for the iPad 2 it may or may not function fully with the iPad '3'/'4'.

  • Will the dock keyboard for first generation iPad work with iPad third generation?

Will the dock keyboard for first generation work with the new iPad third generation?

It should, which is based only on the fact that the connections are remaining the same (the 30 pin usb connection)
that said, the 3 is thinner and smaller than the first one, so if it's dependant on a tight fit it may not work exactly like it does on the 1.

  • Will the lightning to 30-pin adapter work with 2009 VW Jetta built-in iPod dock?

I have a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta that has an iPod dock in the center console and I'm trying to listen to music from an iPhone 5S.
Theoretically the Apple adapter should work with the VW iPod dock and my iPhone 5s. Can anybody confirm it? Also, will the adapter be able to charge my phone while connected?
The ultimate goal is to get music from my phone play through the car's sound system. So another related questoin: is there a way to connect a bluetooth/wireless adapter to the iPod dock and stream music via iPhone 5S's bluetooth feature without modifying the car?
What do you guys do and what are my options? Thank you in advance!

No idea about a VW but my 07 BMW Z4 with BMW fitted iPod connector works fine with the Genuine Apple adapter using an iPod 7 with lightning socket play and charge

  • Will an iPad case fit the new iPad Air 2

No, it will be too large.

  • Will the mini iPad Logitech keyboard fit the new retinal display mini iPad?

Will the new mini iPad fit the original mini iPad keyboard cover by Logitech.

There's a fraction of a millimeter between them. So if the case is hard molded plastic, probably not. But if it's a more forgiving case, like  a leather slip in case or the such, you should be ok.

  • Will the standard iPad case fit the the iPad Air or is there a specific type case for the iPad Air?

Will the standard iPad case fit the the iPad Air or is there a specific type case for the iPad Air?

The air is different dimensions from other iPads, so look for cases made specifically for it. I know that Targus has some, so does Zagg and i'm sure other manufacturers do as well.
