Will The iPod touch 5G Camera Scratch When Set On A Table ?

Since the iSight camera of the iPod touch sticks out, I was wondering if the camera lens would get scratched when set on a table since it lays on the camera instead of laying on the back of the iPod. I always use a case because of this reason, but I want to know that if I can set it on a table without it getting scratched. Thanks, in advance (;

The lens on the 5G is made of sapphire and is very scratch resistant.

    The only 4g iPod new stock for sale now is the 16gb iPod touch.  As this is an entirely new configuration, it's possible that they have decided to sell it for a while longer.  In any case, only Apple knows for sure and even they may not have decided yet.
