Will the MBP speakers blow if I play it on max. volume for too long?

Depends what you call too long. Leave any electronics running too long it will eventually break. Might take years, but no mechanical system is immortal. No computer has yet been built around superconductors either, so heat alone would cause circuitry to fail if it is always powered. While leaving on the machine all the time (except for bad weather) is a good idea since Mac OS X is able to do that, individual components I would not always leave in use. Use your energy wisely. Not to mention max volume for too long could theoretically make you deaf if you listen to it all the time.
Use common sense.

I recently updated my iPad to iOS 8 and still checking on the settings. When I happened to swipe on my screen for too long, it zoomed and I can no longer see what's on it. I can not even unlock it. I can not use my iPad anymore. What shall I do?

Try double tapping with three fingers and see if that reduces the screen image. If it does, unlock the iPad and go to Settings>General>Accessibility>zoom>Off. If double tapping with three fingers doesn't work, try triple tapping the home button instead.

just as the title says and all these issues too....
Whenever my phone is locked for too long it will not respond to any button presses. the only way i can get it out of that is if i hard reboot it but happens again afterwards. the only way to keep it from not acting like that is to keep it plugged in constantly.  also if i try to shut it off normally it will power on by itself right after its shut off.  ive tried to do a full restore in recovery mode and that didnt even solve the problem.  any ideas?

Anyone? C'mom, I know some of you techie type folks know how to fix this!

You can't. Either get your phone fixed at a third-party repair shop, or go to an Apple store & they will replace your phone for US $199.

Do you mean you have a Macbook Pro (laptop) versus a Mac Pro (desktop)?
You can back up the MBP, restart using Command+R to boot into the Mavericks Recovery HD, erase the Mactintosh HD and Reinstall OS X. Then you can go through setup and configure it with your information and Apple ID. Mavericks should not prompt you for an Apple ID when it goes through the install since that OS is free.
One thing you might want to consider is asking the previous owner to unregister the MBP from his Apple ID if he previously registered it. Then you can register it under your Apple ID.
The previous owner should have wiped it clean and reinstalled the OS that came pre-installed before selling it.

  • Can you charge the battery for too long?

I know that with cell phones if you leave the charger in for too long the battery starts to lose life. Is it the same way with the macbook or did the engineers work out a way that you can keep the charger connected for as long as you want and it won't drain battery life?
I'd like to charge the battery whenever I go to sleep but I'm afraid that it will have charged too much by the time I wake up. I learned that the hard way with my cell phone, which seems to lose power much quicker than it used to.

    Hi,
since Apple recommends to never remove the battery while running the MacBook on AC-power, it is the logical conclusion.

can't start up my ipod 5thG and stay remining the logo of apple for too long don't know how to do????

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • How long will the MBP honestly last?

im endin my senior year of hs and ill need this computer to last me thru 4 yrs of college. is that a realistic expectation of the MBP or am i just kiddin myself?

You're not kidding yourself. But it's hard to answer this absolutely, without knowing what your requirements are. If you'll use the machine for email, web, office apps, etc., I'd say it will definitely last for 4 years, no problem. But if you want always be able to run the latest and greatest 3D-intensive video games on it, I'd say it definitely won't last 4 years. It's very likely at the end of 4 years there will be video games out there that you won't be able to run on a maxed out first-gen MacBook. But then, no computer I know of will keep up with game developers for 4 years.
Do you plan to do heavy graphics (video/imagery) work in college, or CAD, or audio recording/mixing? In these cases, some of the tools you'll use may release new versions that push the envelope for a MacBook near the end of the 4 years. But even in these cases, I think the MacBook will suffice. Worst case scenario, these apps will work, but slower than you'd like, near the end of the 4 years.

  • External Hard Drive will the MBP read it?

Hi all, i am about to purchase a MBP 13, and i am concerned about my data. I have a lot of data--92 gigs worth. Last night I put everything, all of it, on a WD My Passpoort Essentials, but its in NTSF format, and my HP is not letting me change the drive's format to anything other than NTFS. I have no problem reformating to HSB#%^???? when I get the MBP, but I just want to make sure i can UNLOAD all my 92 Gigs onto the MBP first. Being in NTSF, will I be able to do that?

OS X 10.6 has, by default, the ability to mount NTFS drives as read only. So yes, you will be able to read that data and thus copy it onto your laptop's drive.
If you want to read AND write to an NTFS there are 3rd party applications that will let you do that (OS X actually can too, if you use some command line codes when mounting it, but its NTFS writing ability seems to be a still-in-work feature).
Once you've copied the stuff off it though, you can use disk utility to reformat it. Use MS-DOS format (Apple-speak for FAT32) if you want to still be able to use it on a windows machine as well as your Mac.

  • Will the new version have capability to allow me to use Fingerprint for username and password entry?

I need to HP SimplePass Identity protection. This use of fingerprint technology allows sign in to websites by swipe of fingerprint and supports multiple users. Firefox supported that technology at one time but dropped support. Will the new version support it again? I quit using Firefox when the support ended and will not use it again until that functionality is restored.

HP Simplepass never stopped working for Firefox. I'm using it on Nightly 31.0a1 and it's working fine. If it does stop working, then it's HP's fault for not pushing an update to their extension.

  • Will the MBP accept 8cm sony handycam dvd's or will they get stuck ?

I have a a Sony DVD92e handy cam and want to transfer the content to the hard drive on my MBP as simply as posible the Sony does no have a USB connection, please help new to all this and a little confused !
macbook pro   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Hi allanavfc,
    Welcome to the forum.
The quick answer is "No", the current slot loading superdrives/combo-drives will not accept 8cm disks.
An alternative solution, should you wish, would be to invest in an external drive that has the ability to accept these disks. There are a number of manufacturers out there that make tray loading external CD/DVD drives and prices are very reasonable.

  • When will the RAZR MAXX be able to play DRM content?

I can't sync DRM protected content to my DROID RAZR MAXX, although I could to my DROID 2. While searching this forum I found the following post:
Transfer Pictures / Videos - DROID RAZR / RAZR MAXX by MOTOROLA
Only DRM free / unprotected video can be transferred via this method. DRM protected content will not play on this device
Why? Is this a permanent condition?

all listed as "certified as PlaysForSure devices by Microsoft"
and I can attest that I was able to sync a digital copy of "STAR TREK" from Paramount, from the Blue-Ray with digital download I purchased and loaded on my PC, onto my DROID 2 without  any problems.
The Microsoft compatability site lists 21 Android devices from multiple manufacturers that CAN play DRM protected content.
Why is the DROID RAZR MAXX not in that list?
Ah, so you're talking video not audio.   Afraid I don't know about that. I assume you've tried looking through the Market for a compatible player app - just in case Microsoft's list is not up to date?   Otherwise you might try posting on Motorola's Droid Razr forum if know one knows here.

  • Will the MBP 13 inch feel heavy or slippery in ur hands?

    just wondering.

I am sure no one intended insult.
Some have reported that the aluminum to either side of the trackpad is discoloring, indicating that something in their body chemistry reacts badly with the finished aluminum surface.  Some people naturally produce more oils.
Also, some have reported that the case is bending from where they hold it with one hand only.  Even the strong aluminum case should be held with two hands, one on either side.  This carrying position should reduce risk of it slipping out of your grip, even if your hands are slick.
I have never felt my MBP slip as the aluminum has just enough of a surface-texture with my two-handed carry.
But, as JoeyR has indicated, there may be some underlying question you have not directly asked, or not.

  • Hi, I have an apple ipod touch 5th generation. i just notice that the display will get bigger whenever i would play mp3s for too long and whenever it is in my pocket. what to do?

this happens to me a lot and what i would usually do is to turn off the unit and back on.. what to do to prevent this from happening again?

You can try the standard fixes:
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    -  Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
