There is no "adding" a device. Simply plug the iDevice into the computer. iTunes should automatically detect the device when it is connected.
iTunes can sync/manage as many iDevices as you want... there is no 1 device limit.

Whenever I go to iTunes with my iPod 5th generation 32 gb iPod Touch, running iOS 8.0.2, It tells me that the "Other" category is using up 14.59 gb of data. I have no clue why it says this and I have searched the internet for fixes and none worked.

I have tried restoring to a backup but that didn't help. I haven't had time to do a full restore but I will try if the problem persists.

An "other" larger than about 1 1/2 GB indicates corrupted files.

The do not cme preinstaled but can be purchased at no cost if you meet these requirements

“SUCCESS!!! I took my iPod to a friend who is a computer programmer/genius. He turned off his wireless, hooked the ethernet cable directly into his computer, and the download went through without a hitch. YAY!”
Here is my original post explaining what I had already tried:

I got an iPod Touch 1st gen for my youngest son for Christmas as a starter. It has the 2.1.2 ios on it, but after I paid for the upgrade to 3.1.1, I keep getting an error message (8288) saying there was a problem with the network connection. I have called customer service, and they suggested I try on a different computer, and if that didn't work, try connecting to a different network, and then trying the update. None of this has worked. It seems that tech support is clueless with this issue.
I have installed and unistalled iTunes 10.5, 10.3, 10.4, and now I am back with 10.5. I have tried looking up the issue from several search engines but no one seems to have a universal solution and I have tried several.
I really want to have this thing updated for himw hwne he opens it, but I am starting to worry that my purchase was a bust. I know this is the oldest version, but I don't want to buy a newer, more expensive iPod and him still not be mature enough to really take care of it. As I said, this one is a starter.
Can anyone help? Please?!

It's Christmas morning and my parents bought me a new iPod Touch 4th Generation 4G 32GB. I started charging it, 5mins later I walked back into my room and there I saw it - frozen, white screen with light green, vertical lines. It's brand new, and I just opened it about 5mins prior. I never dropped it, it never touched water. My mum bought it at the nearby Target. I opened it, in it's case and everything. So I have no clue what happened. I really hope the workers at Target didn't just sell me a broken iPod. This really stinks, and I really hope somebody can help me. I feel terrible for my mum having spent so much on it. I'm using my iPhone 5S or my iPad Mini cable and wall charger to do it (both originals) , and the iPod Shuffle does not charge at all, doesn't matter if is direct on the wall or trough my Macbook Air.I 've restored it once, but nothing has changed. You might need to bring up the menu bar first.
If you're using version 11.0.1.12, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Now you should be able to find the duplicates thing in the View Menu.
(If you're still using iTunes version 11.0.0.163, you'd need to update to 11.0.1.12 to get the Display duplicates control.)
EDIT: Sorry, in the initial version of this reply, I said the Show Duplicate items was in the File Menu. It's in the View Menu in version 11.0.1.12.

Perhaps you are talking about the Sidebar? If so, to show the Sidebar, choose Show Sidebar from the View menu in iTunes.
